  1. Why not just weld the spider gears and get that disconnect cable by Alloy USA? By "disco" they mean front disconnect, front axles (at least stock Dana 30s) came with a vacuum disconnecting system to unlock the hubs. The vacuum hoses come out of a switch on the transfer case.
  2. Do they have a warranty of any kind?
  3. My NP231 says "231 AMC" on the top of the tag, but I assumed it was the same as a 231J since AMC made Jeep for a while.
  4. NO SH*t, I put the whole damn thing together last night and the seals in the lines of the brand new throwout bearing inside the (Peugeot) transmission bursted. I had to use my old lines in the new throwout bearing but it came with 4 new o-rings and 2 new u-shaped clips for the line swap. I put the two o-rings in, slide the metal line in, then put the little u-shaped clip over it. Did I do it right? I thought that's how it looked when I pulled the old lines out of the old throwout bearing.
  5. Replace the thermostat before you do anything. Mine was stuck slightly open for about a year without causing any problems until it snapped shut and caused my coolant bottle to bust open. It left me stranded (til my dad came and got my sorry a$$), but it was 2 bolts to get the part off and right back on, cost like 7 bucks, and I did the whole procedure in the parking lot of an animal veterinary clinic the next day.
  6. Well those look pretty nice too, thanks
  7. I wanted to use the Luk clutch kit because it was cheaper and supposedly a good kit, but I have to get this fixed before toomorrow. I'm putting the transmission (and everything else between the rear axle and the engine) back on today hopefully within 5 hours (if I don't break anything else), and I didn't machine my flywheel because it was surprisingly not that bad. I guess not machineing thi flywheel is not a bad thing after all?
  8. Wouldn't that be the new Compass? you're thinking of?
  9. Has anyone used a duralast replacement clutch or know someone who has? I wanna know how long they last because my throwout bearing exploded saturday night and I'm gonna finish putting the transmission back in this afternoon. I paid $157 for it from Autozone, so I don't think I was robbed.
  10. It looks like a Nissan Juke front and Volvo XC90 rear...weird... come out with another pickup already, Jeep!
  11. Those switches are sweet! Sorry if someones already asked, but where can I get those cab lights?
  12. That's it, I'm never painting mine.
  13. How would the insurance company feel about a 4wd conversion?
  14. My dad refuses to even tell me what he pays for my MJ's insurance, I just have fo put fuel in my tank.
  15. I had to do this...not fun.
  16. Check the junkyard for at least the grommets, and get the vacuum hoses if they're decent. Maybe look for new Cherokee parts online? Good luck with that sludge, sounds scary...
  17. A real redneck kid wants to buy my truck, but I know he would destroy it.
  18. They're too dang expensive if you ask me, the ones at hobby lobby are like, $20 a piece these days. I'd buy a Comanche or XJ model if it was $50 or less, however.
  19. You're going cross country in your MJ?
  20. Thanks for fixing it, I'm not real technicalogictively inclined. I know ya'll always want pictures though haha but its all good.
  21. Honestly, the plate number would be a little better if it were my truck, because its easier to remember and less weird. A VIN is out for every one to see though, and I've talked Jeeps and been admired several times because of my MJ. My buddies think its funny to draw wieners on my hood until I faked a vandalism ticket on them as a payback joke haha but I'm totally cool with people checking out my dirty little Comanche.
  22. I'm not sure why, but it really is. My adrenaline skyrockets when I goose it across a field, in my truck or on a bike.
  23. I honestly think the 4x4 nameplates are just too cliche, thanks.
  24. That's amazing! Rock on, carpenters.
  25. Looks like a good boat anchor if nothing else.
