ATK HP25 Engine Swap COMPLETE!
88whitemanche replied to parkia86's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have a question regarding this... Though many have had problems while installing these engines by themselves to help with cost... Does atk state anywhere that the engines would have to be required to be installed by a licensed mechanic? Buddy of mine happen to mention that the other day when we had a conversation about this subject and said its "required" to have a licensed mechanic to install the engine to not void warranty and that they'll send in one of their mechanics to see what's the problem if anything goes wrong -

Speedo gear chart
88whitemanche replied to Jackrabbit41's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
As mentioned above you would need a 35tooth long shaft hear to keep running the mechanical speedo gear... Just a twist speed position will get it back to spec for your set up... It did take a bit of maneuvering to get it right when I swapped my mechanical speedo gear to a 96 np231 -
Last I've seen his name pop on cherokeeforum answering Comanche tech questions...

RC bumper, Stinger or light bar?
88whitemanche replied to Paul Bruchal's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm picking up the stinger because it actually looks mean If you say so. It screams mall crawler and pavement princess to me. Great...I've been trying to avoid being seen as one and I picked up this bumper for CHEAP $100 brand new from scratch and dent and still fell into the Category... Smh oh well... -

Which transfer case did you use? The original from your truck or the one from the xj? -
RC bumper, Stinger or light bar?
88whitemanche replied to Paul Bruchal's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
True but I think this is more related to the pavement queens and Barbie drivers... I'm picking up the stinger because it actually looks mean on this bumper as an option...and well I picked it up CHEAP... -
This is the axle I was looking for when I was looking to go 4.10s in my xj... Until I got lucky and picked up a 4.10 8.25.... I'm still searching for one to have as a spare axle

88whitemanche replied to 91Pioneer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have never seen replacement shocks that came with new lower bolts. Have used several brands too. :hmm: X2 -
I paid $210 with me pulling my axle.... And I once paid $130 for a half off day and I pulled it... I have plenty of jys that charge and arm and a leg for axles they've pulled...$400-$100 range depending on the vehicle...

3.55 ratio with manual trans.
88whitemanche replied to 90MJ406's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have a 87 pioneer 2.5l 4speed trans. I was told they come stock with 4.10s. Planning on running 35s. Not sure what gear ratio will work best. Not trying to jack this thread2.5s with a 4 speed came with 3.55s2.5s with the 5 speed came with 4.10s If your planning 35s are you planning to swap axles? The maximum gear ratio for the Dana 30 is 4.88s This is the gear ratio I was planning for my truck just haven't sent it in for gear install I would like to swap my front axle I have and 8.25 Chrysler in the back. Not sure what my best option is for axlesIt all depends on how you treat your truck...I know a guy with an xj 4.0 still running the Dana 30 and 29 spline 8.25 on 38s with 4.10s he's been running and dd that setup for years and no problems...He babies it for dd duties and beats it off-road...but he does a lot of preventive maitinence for it not to break... I did see that but they came out after I made the purchase and weren't making an option for the amc 20... -

Well I picked up the nv3550... I spoke to the guy a bit to get some info... He had a tj with a 2" body lift and 33s He was constantly driving back home and to school 4 hours away every month or so and would have issues popping out of 5th gear.... After doing some research it seems that anyone with a tj with a body lift or transfer case drop would have issues popping out of 2nd and in 5th gear.... So I may have gotten a good deal on a good trans until I take it to a shop to verify there's nothing wrong with it... Or check it my self

Brand new/bad draglinks?
88whitemanche replied to 88whitemanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hmmm...does this work on 97+ Cherokees as well? I finally got to do a test drive this morning and the steering wheel was straight until I had to make a couple turns to get to my destination...while making those turns I noticed depending on the turn the steering wheel was tilted either to the left or the right and at times it will go back to straight... -
