New MEAT transmission topic, Brain Buster
aemsee replied to BORDENCOMANCHE's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
does the noise change when you select a different gear? change as you accel and decel? maybe almost go away in 4th? how long did the truck run without trans fluid in it? before doing the bearing swap, I would drain the trans and look for metal in the fluid. Instead of pushing the clutch pedal all the way in, push it just enough to load the TOB without disengaging the clutch.. Any change to the noise? Also, a TOB that "spins like a top" is probably shot. There is normally some drag from the grease in it. -

Of course - it was hard to miss when it was replayed 10-15 times. :D ................ I don't think they changed the outcome of the game in this one. Let's hope for the rest of the playoffs this remains true. Let's see. Fumble return for touchdown in sudden death...VS.....retain possesion, 15 yards and a 1st down. I would have to say that that particular no call was in fact pretty big :D GO VIKINGS!!

Did anyone besides me see that obvious facemask against Rogers on the last play where he fumbled for the loss? Ref was standing right there and didn't call it.

Sorry, I don't remember what I had to do. Must not have been to much trouble or I would remember.

Eagle, my 87 4cyl, column shift had the metal retainer for the cable. Swtiched to the cluster from my 88 for the full guage package and was able to get the cable to attach with some minor modifications.

Thanks for the pics. Those are great

You need to back it down a bit there friend. You are lashing out at folks trying to help you. You post up questions with very little back ground info, on you OR your truck. Guys are going to start with the basics in situations like that. No one is flaming you. If you think that is the case, try posting your question at JU or someplace like that and see what kind of responses you get.

performance parts ? they offer any ?

I've got a 87 2.5 with AW4 and 4:56 gears with 235/75/15 tires.. If you take the time to regear, go with the 4:56's. I also don't believe that the D35 will break if you drop it in to gear above 400RPM's. With a 2.5, DD and normal tires it should do just fine. -
92 comanche inline six no run
aemsee replied to kylineman's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You changed pieces, but have you checked the vacuum at the MAP and for the correct power and grounds at the TPS? When it dies, is it instantaneous, or does it stumble them die? Any black smoke out the tail pipe? What do the plugs look like after it runs and dies a few times? -
Bud does that to me. Hate the stuff.

Well I've had my ASUS Eee since March ( I think). It has been a great little 'puter. I have StarMOBILE software loaded on it for work and it is great for interfacing with the diag tool on a roadtest. Way better than hauling around a full sized laptop. If I was still in a dealership and roadtesting everyday I would get one with a SSHD to make it even safer to kick around. I've seen them on sale for under $200.

Heat shrink butt splicing wires.
aemsee replied to AmJay's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have used them and they seem to do a good job. But I actually like to solder. It is one of those things that I am able to do really well (it is a small list) :D -
Magtech Gold, 180 grain hollowpoint.

looks pretty darn clean. You should be able to tell if they pulled a head to check the cyl wall. Sounds like you called it right. Just trying to sell a new engine. Caravans were available in AWD up to the advent of stow and go seating. Maybe 2001 or so? I had a 97 AWD T&C. With 4 snows it was a great winter vehicle.

CW has some excellent advice there. I started the process of having my wife get her permit. Then realized that she just isn't the "gun" type. While she is a very good shot, I never got the feeling that she could pull the trigger on someone when she needed to, and she wouldn't put in the practice time. Instead, we have a few well place baseball bats around the house. I know she would use one of those:). I also agree about learning from Massad Ayoob. Even just read some of his very realistic writings. As for the shotgun thing. A long barrel weapon can be VERY difficult to use in the confined spaces of indoors. And you do not mention the stature of your wife. A petite woman with a long barrel pump 12 gauge may be a bad combo.

anyone ever use a mixture of dishwasher detergent and water? just seems it would do a decent job, cost little and be low foam.

87 comanche 2.5 spark but no power to injector
aemsee replied to 190ematt's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
nope. sounds like maybe a bad wire on one side of the injector. Are you sure the fuel pump is running since you said you had no fuel when you undid the line. -

if the crank sensor was bad you wouldn't have spark either.
