It is going to be used in a garage that uses a wood stove for heat in the winter, so I would like to stay away from flamable stuff that is very volatile. In the summer it won't matter as much. The commercial stuff is pretty pricey by the gallon.

Just bought a 20 gal parts washer for my Dad for Christmas. What are you guys using for solvent in yours?

Looking for a t-case shift bezel for a 242. Just need the little snap in piece that says 2wd, 4wd part time, 4wd full time etc. Any pre 97 should work. I know some of you guys LIVE at the local JY's. I just never seem to have the time to hit them.

talk to Wildman. He may have something. I'll be heading out his way over Christmas break and could bring it back to Roch for ya.

Thanks for the link and opinion. Just ordered one. Came with a bunch of extras as well. He will be happy.

Heck, for a deal like that I'll take two!

Anyone use a DRB-II scanner? I need a bit of help.
aemsee replied to Shandley's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
with the sensor unplugged and measuring across the terminals: 10k ohms (it's about 30 degrees here). Unplugged and key on the voltage at the harness connector is 2.45 volts. With it plugged in key on and back probing the voltage wire, 1.9 volts. Make sure you check the connector for a spread pin when you do your volt/ ohm check. If everything there checks out OK then you need to check it at the diag connector (volts, plugged in and key on) to see if maybe just the scan tool isn't getting the right info. Then check it at the ECU for the same voltage as at the sensor. -
Not talking about the service itself. I have sirius in all the company vehicles. Just looking for info about what to get to be able to use the receiver in the house as well as in the Jeep.

Anyone have a unit that they use in their home? I want to get one for my wife as a gift, but she will use it way more at home than in her GC since she only has a 3 block drive to work :D . Give me ideas guys! Thanks.

no ambient air temp sensor like that on yours. just the MAT (manifold air temp) sensor. Minus 40 is a default if it is open circuit. Should be on the top of the intake manifold. But your tps going back to zero as you open it is definitly a problem sensor on my 87 2.5 -
Well the pieces are scattered in various storage locations. Here are a couple of truck pics. and next to my first MJ

What do you want pics of? All the pieces that aren't on my truck yet?? :D

Got wheels and tires. Front springs, WJ arms. Next on the hit list- rear 3" springs and shocks.

Good job. . Been ASE Master for 20+ years. Some guys will give ya crap about it in this business. Probably 'cause they couldn't pass them. Keep on taking them until you have them all. And the recerts are cake.

You guys forgot one of the most important things. Drain the oil from the pan first!! :D Seriously, drain it and let the engine sit as long as posible before dropping the pan. Will help to alleviate some of the oil dripping in your face. And wear safety glasses if ya got 'em. PS. a quart every three weeks isn't a massive amount for a RMS. Be sure it isn't your VCG and oil just running down the back of the motor.

You are just too darn quick Mr. Pete. I fixed them as soon as I posted it and realized I screwed up. Then I thought that no one else could see them for some reason  . Thanks

this post has pics? I no see any. well, not THIS post, the first one :D

am I the only one who can see the pics in my post?

Decided that I needed to check the rest of my floor and fix it so that I have more than just carpet between my feet and the pavement. Pulled the seat, trim and carpet. Actually very pleased with what I found: Pass front Pass rear Drivers rear Drivers front cleaned it up a bit and cut down the overpriced cherokee panel I bought. just a temp install for the winter. and all back together. about three hours total.

I was gonna, but ended up running cable upstairs, rebuilding an old revolver I took apart two years ago and watching my son shoot his new airsoft M4. All in all a nice day.

tranny/torque converter problems
aemsee replied to Lenard's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
When the convertor locks up is when the rpm's go down. It may just be a glitch in the tps. What was done to the trans besides cooler lines? How are the regular shift points? Same as before the work? -
No Pete, that's a winch mount!

The kind that you use to look for stuff on the ground, not the airport kind :). Looking for info on them. Thinking about getting one for my 13 Y.O. for Christmas. Anyone here use them? What should I look for as far as quality? Like to keep the price under $200 as well. There is some info on the net of course, but I like opinions from people who have actually used different ones. Thanks
