Very nice. BUT, your grill is on upside down. :D
-
Most articles about AMC products are rife with mistakes.

Now I woke up. There are 2 2.5 Jeep engines. OUR 2.5 and the GM Iron Puke that Chevy sold to AMC. Those definitly used the Varijet progressive 2bbl.
-
I'm pretty sure the 4cyl carb was a 1bbl? I used that Weber on a friends Montero to replace the Mikuni. He was happy with it. Has anyone diagnosed the choke problem? It is an electric choke, maybe just a bad wire? Or just a bad choke coil?
-
Is this happening on the bench, or installed in the truck? If it is in the truck, maybe a rod length problem?
-
Did you just cut off the top, or the whole thing?!

That 401 is just what I need for my Hornet -
Sorry aemsee - they're history now - courtesy of Butler. The #1 seeds are dropping like flies................ Butler's coach needs to go buy a Lotto ticket. That was the worst I have ever seen the Orange play, and they only lost by 4. I think Rick Jackson threw the game. He played like he had boxing gloves on.

I agree about St Mary's. Those Aussies are fun to watch. It has been most amazing to see Duke fly under the radar all season. Didn't think that was possible. More people were watching the UNC collapse I think. Anytime Coack K is in the mix, the Dukies have a shot. Right now I'm thinking O. State, UK, Duke and Syr in the FF. And a rematch of the '97 championship game.

the Orange are on a roll........and UK better watch out for the Big Red

On my way to Auburn Hills to the mother ship today. (Chrysler Training Center). I usually enjoy going out to the week long training session, but it is usually in Oct. AND the 'new' company has decided that they will make us a team by forcing us to go to evening group hug seminars 'til 9:00, unpaid. :fs1: Dinner, but no alcohol. :fs1: . And I will miss the first two rounds of games in the tourney. :fs1: And I will be away from my 100% Irish wife on St.Pattys Day :fs1: . And there will be NO time to get over to the Walter P. :fs1: . And, well, it is Detroit in March for God's sake :fs1: . Oh well, enough venting :wall: .

I'm more interested in the fact you have an 86 with 58K on the clock. Original owner? -
:agree: and be prepared to spend some time getting the old cork gasket off afterwards

High Volume oil pump or stock?
aemsee replied to UNL1MTD's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If it were mine and I wasn't doing anything else but the RMS, I would not change it. -
He probably forgot to mention the homemade hydrogen generator he installed. Those should boost mileage by 4 or 5 hundred percent :D

Throwing parts at vehicles is never the best way to fix anything. And trying to get help from us by saying you are going to crush your MJ because YOU are unable to fix it, or saying you should have bought an S-10. I will give you one last post. You say that when you push in the EGR diaphram when the engine is running has no effect? It should stall because you are leaning out the mixture significantly. It could be that it is bleeding by already and the computer is richening up the mixture as much as possible, but when you need more fuel it can't keep up and the truck stumbles. Or, you have bad gas or somehow managed to put E85 in it. I think someone mentioned bad gas before. The picture of the plugs appear to show then burning OK, maybe lean, definitly not rich. Fuel injector COULD be bad. Has it been tested? I believe someone here offered to loan you one. There is also a pressure regulator inside the TB that could be bad.Or you could grab a TB with injector and regulator from a JY and bolt it on. Just because you installed a bunch of new parts does not mean they are working properly. There is a scan tool for your truck. DRB II Now, feel free to contiunue insulting us and our trucks.

Video of the stubling bumbling AMC-2.5er . . .
aemsee replied to AMC-MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Mine stumbled just like that. Was the EGR. Made a block off plate. Some day I'll change the valve. But since it only sees about 300 to 400 miles a year right now....... -
Quick...someone call the cops. We have a thief here :D . Great deal!

Ya know what. You and your friends need to grow up. If I was your principal and you didn't shut your locker, I would pad lock it and you could go without. Funny you should post this today, as I was just having a conversation with another member about how we are dealing with the entitlement generation. No one at your school, or anyone else, owes you a d$%n thing. Close your friggin locker door and act like an adult. I know you aint gonna like this response, but you "opened the door", so to speak.

Didn't do something to my truck, more for it. Drove out to Buffalo to Wildman's MJ preserve to pick up a 242.
-
Ouch! $389?? I don't think Wildman paid more than that for half his fleet. I think I would be doing me a rebuild for that price. Not sure what you meant by a "two stage" installation on the Varijunk OE carb?
