if it was the MAP sensor tube, it wouldn't be running great. Sounds like the air cleaner box line.

was the play vertical or lateral? that much vertical play for a dana 30 is pretty much normal. I would get a full refund and get them changed some place else. for all the "stealership" bashing that goes on in Jeep forums, I have seen WAY more of this type of butchery from chains than dealers.

i just changed my steering box and.....

the pitman arm is keyed to the shaft, but it can go on 4 diff ways. You could have been off 90 degrees when you installed it. Get the wheels straight and disconnect the arm from the box. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right/ then all the way to the left, counting turns lock to lock. Turn back half your count. See if the arm will go back on with minimal effort. This would be the case if you had one turn of the wheel to the left and three to the right, or the other way around. -
Another leaf spring question

this would be a good place for gurus to chime in. especially since that amount of lift would be desired by many. :agree: . Anyone else done this swap? -
4WD low works but no 4WD high
aemsee replied to Jomanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
well, don't see how there could be no resistance moving the lever to 4high, but resistance and engagement with 4low if it were an external linkage issue. does it bind and jump turning in 4low, or do you know it is 4low just by engine rpm? could be an internal problem with the case where range fork is moving, but mode fork is not, and you are just getting 2low but not engaging the front output, which would still reduce overall ratio and cause high rpm's at speed like 4low. -
I remember seeing this very often as a tech at the dealer in the early 90's. Very poor design, but made me a few bucks back then :clapping:

how much do you want to trust a sheet that lists 84 Comanches? :D . I remember a similar thread a while back. Guess it never got resolved?

fuel psi issue when activating the brakes
aemsee replied to echdaviem's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If the vacuum thing doesn't pan out, have someone watch your brake lights while you step on the pedal. I think that the fuel pump grounds at the same location as the tail lights. You could have a dirty ground back there and a funky electrical gremlin messin with ya, Just a thought. -
:agree: . Just be sure to NOT used regular grease. Melting point is way to high and it won't leave the pump. Learned that the hard way in high school :wall: .

Of course he did :shake: . Just like 1200 Sportys are girls bikes. Gotta laugh :clapping:

there are a couple members here from Ak. Point them in the right direction so that doesn't get crushed. That hard top is super cool. Note right hand fuel fill as well.

I am a Harley guy, but that is a really sharp looking bike.

i'm guessing they are dealer installed decals.

:agree: . I find so much wrong at allpar, especially their predictions and inside scoops. It is as if they are fed wrong info on purpose............

nicely stated das. I have been trying to get this across for a while now. I remember the uproar when the TJ came out with coil springs. CJ/ Wrangler guys vilified it as being a wimp mobile. And when the YJ came out, the interior was trashed by the CJ folks as being too 'plush' (imagine that :D ) Das--so your store recieved a new WK?
-
I hope to have "my" 2011 WK in a few weeks. I'll give it a good workout. It should have the quadradrive and air ride suspension with the selec-terrain t-case, but with the 3.6 Pentastar engine instead of the Hemi. As far as all the comments of the "good old Jeeps", I was around for the CJ7's, Grand Wagoneers and J10's, when they were new. Even though I love them all, they were poorly running, bad handling, low quality vehicles. I would take any new Jeep product (well, except for the Compass/ Patriots ) as a DD over any of the historical Jeeps.

had to vote no for my current 87, but still have the one from my 88 that went to Comanche heaven.

This is my netbook. Other computers have FXSTC's on them.

OK. How do you do a screen dump of your desktop and make it so you can add it to a post.

Installed my new header pipe and cat con. Still needs a new muffler and t-pipe, but I will wait until it is completely gone first :). Got the header pipe off flea-bay for $35 and the cat con was about $135. Both direct fit with no mods needed. Happy, happy, joy, joy. Truck runs better and idles better with the cat con. PO had straight piped it.

I understand what you meant. Some people just need to be uptight and angry all the time
