Next year I want to do the newer front end on mine and change the color from silver to the Deep Slate of the 5.9 limited. Should look good with the black interior.

Want to replace my wifes 04 Grand with a Commander, but she thinks it is too big for her. Yet she used to swipe my 85 K10 Silverado longbox all the time. . Next year we should be seein' a diesel WK and I assume a XK as well. But I think displacement is going to be 3.5 liters. I keep looking at the Commanders at work and picturing them with a bit of lift and 33's.

Thats where I'm from. Did he say what color the exterior was?

Rochester in what state?

I've looked at the cable lock systems only cause I've seen so many different issues with bad vacuum lines etc, but just can't see where they come up with the price for them. Anyone come up with their own manual system?

I wish someone made a repair panel for our trucks. The rust on my new one isn't too bad yet, But I want to fix it right. Fortunately the panels are fairly straight in that area so I think cutting and welding in patch panels shouldn't be too tough to do. We need to find some company that will stamp out whole and partial bed sides.

How about using some nice red oak :D . Seriously, people will need to know what you plan on using the bumper for. Just looks, winch mount, tow hooks etc. Do you have access to a welder?

Not sure about the Comanche owner, but the idiot in the car that keeps screaming needs a serious beat down. What a tool.

Swapping RANCHO heim for a MOOG TRE.....
aemsee replied to CWLONGSHOT's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Someone sells a bracket that does just that using a tapered stud that bolts in to the TRE hole and has a horizontal shaft for the Heim. I remember seeing a couple of pics on NAGCA of them. Unless a couple people homebrewed the same set-up. -
How's that power rack and pinion steering working for ya?

Where to find Rocker panels ?
aemsee replied to comanche tom's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
This is from the folks I got mine from. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... Track=true I probably won't install them until spring unless things get really slow at work this winter. They are pretty much the whole rocker panel from the sill plate to the pinch seam underneath, from the rear of the front fender to the cab corner seam (not including the cab corner). -
If it is an AW4 it is a great tranny. But you are going to need the ECM for it as well as the wiring harness.
-
The 39 is the number of teeth on the ring gear and the 11 is the number of teeth on the pinion gear.

The ones I had were definitly not Sylvanias. Just some cheapies I got from a JU member. They were horrid. Chrysler definitly went for form instead of function in some of their headlamp designs. I think you should go full ralleye and put a row across the front, and on a roof bar. :D ( Hey, do you do any pistol shooting, or just rifle?)

New Comanche tribute site
aemsee replied to JN_comanche_luvr's topic in Forum Issues, Ideas, Testing
Actually, the "Eagle" brand didn't start until after the Chrysler buyout. That is when they dropped the Renault name and made the Eagle Premier, Medallion, Summit and Talon -
I tried those blue bulbs you have in my wifes Town & Country a few years ago, they were horrid. If there was something in the road way ahead of you, you could see it, but the road itself was darn near invisible. Went back to good old halogens.

Just a few 4.0 questions
aemsee replied to comanche tom's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Could also be as simple as a restricted fuel filter. Have you ever changed yours? -
Jack up the rear axle, using two jack stands, making sure both wheels are off the ground. Check to make sure they both turn freely. Make a easy to see mark on the drive shaft and one on the inside of a tire where you can see it from under the truck. Now turn the shaft while counting how many times you need to rotate the DS to have the tire make one revolution. 4 DS turns will be about 4.10 and 4 1/2 turns will be the 4.56. Make sure both rear wheels turn so you are not factoring in the spider gear ratio. OR, just pull the cover divide the number of pinion teeth in to the number of ring gear teeth. You probably need to change the fluid anyhow, right? :D

Cause they say Goodyear on the sidewall. Anything GY makes is overpriced, but they have a great marketing dept. Now if they would only spend some money to make good tires instead of good commercials.....

My 87 has a all rubber hose that runs from the intake to the reservoir, and a plastic one that comes off it that ties in to the vacuum system. Most any reservoir should work for you. Just make sure it isn't cracked and holds vacuum.

The cheap way (which I'd opt for) is to get a set of 2" drop shackles for a full-size chebby. Or, make my own. However, I believe that RE makes some good quality shackles, and should have some that are long enough... What year Chebby and what do you mean by 2" drop brackets? Thanks

Does anyone make a good shackle for a 2 inch lift?

Wheels, calipers, rotors, hubs and axles (remove hub and axle shaft as a unit without removing the big axle nut), steering knuckle. Rent, borrow or buy a ball joint press tool. It can be done using just a BFH, but it is WAAAAY easier with the right tools.

Looks like you need a taller garage now :D .What did you do with the stock wheels? Those are the same ones I have.
