Check out my build thread, I built a rear bumper. Simple and cheap - about $75 i believe. I used reson46's bumper build as the inspiration. But if you just look around, there are a ton of custom bumpers on the site.

You're at about 5.5" of lift right? Do you think that steering bracket would work for me with 2.5-3" of lift? I was looking into the WJ knuckle also, but I love the simplicity of that bracket.

Worried about breaking a gear set with 31s? Its not hard to find axles with 4:10s. So by adding a bunch more weight to the truck and increasing the tire size you think the power to weight ratio is going to be ok with stock gearing? Sounds like to me the power to weight ratio is going way down from stock. Why is that acceptable?

Cool build. My next MJ will be a similar build. But why ruin it by running 3.55s?

Get a cheap off-air antenna and di-plex it into your DirecTV system. Or keep it seperate and run it to the back of your receiver.

Pete, I've been feeling great these days. Its amazing how productive I've become. I used to get home from work open the fridge grab a beer then plant my @$$ on the couch. Going to bed drunk a few hours later. Not to mention I'm saving about $50-$100 a week. Boy that adds up. Dunl, thanks for your kind words. Especially from a self proclaimed Darren-hater. If you get a renix 242 it should be a direct swap for the most part. The shift gate for the 242 is a little deeper, so you will need that too, or just make yours deeper. The added length is less than half an inch I'd guess. I just did this swap in my Cherokee. Be prepared the 242 hangs quite a bit lower.

All hookers should carry one of these. I hate writing them a check.

It's about time you started a build! Oh yeah, nice toolbox.

Two weeks. Been spending most of my time on my XJ. Its coming along quite nicely, especially since without drinking I can stay productive well into the evening.

I'd vote for you.

What happened to Don's post? Anyway, I really appreciate the input and the honesty. A few of the posts made my wife cry. As far as me being an attention lady of the night (I wonder if that will get auto-edited), whether or not that's true, that's not why I posted it. I posted this here because I really like everyone here, even the guys that pretend to not like me. What 64 Cheyenne wrote really hit home. Whowey made a good point also, albeit angry. I've decided to take this a lot more seriously than I had previously planned. This should be good for me, and my family.

So it's 9am I'm at a customers house and I'm very hungover. Now that I'm a grownup with a kid of my own I think it's time I stop drinking. Not to mention the fact that my wife has mentioned a few times lately that my drinking has gotten out of hand. So I think its time I put the bottle down, at least for awhile. That's easy to say now when I feel like I'm about to die, but I imagine this is going to be harder than I think, especially since Ben just moved in down the street. Anyone here have any advice for me on my sober adventure? Anyone want to place a bet on how long I'm going to last? I'll keep all you clowns updated on my progress. So is today day one or is day one supposed to start without a hangover?
