  1. BTW, thanks for the link, that's a pretty nice price for the reconditioned unit.... I have friends with the Millermatic 175/180 which looks like similar specs but start in the 700-800 range... Will I want the gas tank as well, or can I do alot of the simple starter stuff without? You'll want to have a bottle of gas. It makes a big difference. I got a tank of 75/25 from my local airgas for around 50 bucks. It was a used tank but who cares?
  2. I've got the Lincoln SP-180T. Love it. It'll do sheetmetal, but still has the balls to weld brackets on an axle. It's spool-gun ready too. Here's a reconditioned unit, comes with everything you'll need. http://www.weldingmart.com/product_deta ... A1B52D3735
  3. Wine shipped to 98674?
  4. If that's true I'd estimate it would be less than an inch. I didn't notice increased seat height.
  5. Does he have paperwork? I sold a 93 4.0l and ax-15 combo (High miles) for $250.
  6. Or just mockup the seats in the truck on the xj brackets and weld brackets on the floor to make them fit, that's what I did. It's super easy.
  7. The 4.7 is not junk. Your recommendation of a carbureted SBC leads me to believe you are a redneck. I'm not going to get into a bunch of reasons why, but you'd be better off with a 4.0 than a carbureted SBC. If carburetors were so cool, they'd still be using them.
  8. Pay a couple bucks more and get one from outside the rust belt. They can be had around here running, and driving, not to mention rust free, for around 2-4k. You would be so far ahead by getting something in decent shape than buying two piles of scrap.
  9. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the best way to swap a 4.0l into a 4-banger or v6 MJ is not to. Buy a 4.0 MJ, then sell or part out your 2.5. Swap all your good/aftermarket parts onto the new truck then your done. If your smart about it, you could actually make money doing it too. These trucks are too cheap to try and do a 4.0l motor swap, when you can buy one with one in it already! It's a complicated and potentially expensive swap to achieve what, building an MJ with a 4.0l inline six?!
  10. That would be a cool picture if it was taken with an SLR.
  11. I like the layout of that cage.
  12. Beautiful truck. It looks like what I'd imagine a Comanche Rubicon to look like. I'd drive it.
  13. So I stole this picture from "THE BOMB", I believe he said it's from an 86. Am I crazy or is it different than 87+? Anyone have any pics? Did it change more than once?
  14. NO it makes it a "you don't remove the cab to restore it, because it's part of the uniframe" situation. you can't remove the cab to restore the truck. the front inner fender frame etc. is part of the cab as well. Ha! I beat you to it punk.
  15. Have you ever done anything like this before? Some of this is kinda sketchy in my opinion.
  16. You should ghost-ride it. Be sure and video it, post it on youtube for us all.
  17. Remove the cab from what? Itself?! Cut the cab from the uni-rails and you'll no longer have a restoration project, you'll have a pile of scrap metal.
  18. Wouldn't hurt to replace the fuel filter either, it's only like $5. Why did this get edited?!
  19. I think you mean 2.73. If I remember correctly the final years of the Waggy only came with 2.73 and 3.31 if equipped with the towing package.
  20. Except the gearing on the front axle is different on two and four-wheel drives.
  21. Have you tried smoking pot?
  22. So the poll didn't work, but for those of you who would have picked Halloween, you'd be correct. I hate admitting that, I'd actually become kind of proud of what I was doing. It had changed my, and my families life quite a bit. Why did I break my streak? I don't know, I guess I just wanted to hangout with my friends that night, and guess what they were doing, drinking. I need new friends. I haven't fallen back into "my old ways", I hope I never will. This was something that I started as a joke, and quickly became very serious. When I posted it that morning, I was at work and had plans to hangout (read: get drunk) with my friends later that night. When I got home I read a post from 64 Cheyenne that really hit home. It was over a month before I had another drink. I'm not going to try and act like 5 weeks is super impressive, but it has changed almost every aspect of my life. There are a couple events coming up where I do plan on drinking, but I'm not going back to getting drunk everyday. I almost wish I would have never started this thread, but then, I probably wouldn't have changed. I'd like to thank Ed (64 Cheyenne), and everyone else for the advice, personal experience, and encouragement. Okay, now let the flaming begin...........
  23. Sorry guys I missed it. Blazers game.
