  1. The answer is yes. I already have a quote of $175 local to me with new gasket. I cannot imagine wasting my time and effort on an 18 year old windshield. But........your truck.
  2. With the engine at idle, remove the oil fill cap and see if you can feel air being forced out.
  3. Too cool! I took it to cart and it shows they have one to sell. Everywhere I looked....every sites stated out of production. Thanks!
  4. Of course I can't tell from that pic but those bores don't look too good either.
  5. I know it's a long shot .....but....... I'd like to find one to match my rear cover. If anyone has one, knows someone that has one, or knows of the lead as to where to find one.....please let me know I'll likely order the Solid cover if I don't hear from anyone in the next few days. Mods- I know this is a wanted post but this is not a common request and I doubt that anyone who may have one will see it down there. Thanks.

  7. Are you a welder by trade? How did you weld it? Did you leak test it? if so, how so?

  11. I suspect the passenger side was damaged somehow, out of balance or out of true, this side failed first.
  12. It took me 1.5 hours to loosen the front bolts, the nuts are a part of the chassis, just as the shackle bolts. I was concerned about breaking the bolts, I was lucky to get the shackle bolts to turn 2-3 revolutions to get the shackle free enough to mount the new springs. Yes, I soaked and soaked. It was easier just to cut the bolt. The rust was not at the thread but the bolt was rusted to the bushing sleeve.
  13. I had to laugh and I could not bring myself to post, my MM bolt is also in backwards. I got into the habit of saving the old bolts from donors and I have a couple of boxes of bolts just in case. Well, I was changing out the springs on the wife's XJ the other night..........no way in hell was I going to remove the rear bumper and hitch just to get to a bolt. You'd think people would be smarter than this- Image Not Found
  14. I've posted on this before- 3rd set of Precision axle joints in three years. The last set lasted my two weeks. Left me stranded 50 miles from home yesterday, lost a day of work, cost a tow, and the pair of CV axles. I was considering the CVs anyway, turns are much smoother, ain't looking back now. Sucked though, could have been worse I guess......oh yeah.....took a chuck out of each of the unit bearing bolts too. Image Not Found
  15. By the time it takes you to jackass around with it.........just make up your own. BTW, mine is made up with 3/8 plate and 3" 1/4 wall tube. You find nothing on the market that strong. Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found
  16. I have a 94 axle that doesn't use them anyway.

    Incredible

Yesterday at 4.30pm I ordered new springs for the wifes XJ. Front coils and leafs from Summit. Yeah- Moog and Doorman......but I don't care, it'll be fine. As of 7:00am it is on the truck for delivery, UPS runs here between 2pm and 3pm. Aside from the fact that I got all four springs for $298.......free shipping....... I have no idea what kind of deal Summit has with UPS.....but......next day shipping is amazing.
  18. It's called 'cash and carry' for a reason. After 3-4 months........yeah, you lose. The price of laziness.
  19. Some things I will buy used and some I will not. Could not live without impacts and air ratchets.......no way. If you are patient, find a good deal on used IR or Craftsman or save your money and buy new IR. You can get an IR 1/2 impact for about $160 and it will outlast you.
  20. I'm pretty sure that AMC adopted the TBI from GM who was already using it in the early 80s.
  21. To make my point- This pump on my 88 is off a 2004 Grand with the 88 steel pulley that is out that 1/2" further than the straight plastic 4.0 pulley. Image Not Found
  22. 86 had the Vbelt and 87up had the serpentine. The mount and intake will determine the pulley, his 87 will require the TBI mount and pulley, the MPI intakes required the 4.0 pulley. There are three generations of intakes for the 2.5 that I'm aware of- 84-90, as you have and he has, then the 90-96 as pictured below, and then the 97+ that requires no mount, the pump bolts directly to the intake. My years may be off a bit.......but that's the jest of it. My guess is he has a plastic pulley.....one for the 4.0 which is more or less centered to the hub. Image Not Found
  23. You can make any pump of any year work. You have the wrong pulley.
  24. $300 with air lockers????? There is something wrong with them.......gotta be.
