  1. Where are you at?
  2. No, keep looking.
  3. Yeah, I forgot about the dryer. Valve and dryer are fairly cheep though, under $20 each at Rockauto. As for the hoses, you'll find no problem locating the hoses for the 4.0, they don't exist for the 2.5, however, I see little difference in them. They are expensive, IIRC. I contacted Jeep Air in FL at the time and they told me to use my existing hoses, that the 'barrier hoses' were a nonsense ploy to sell new hoses.
  4. O-rings and expansion valve......that's it. Oh yeah.......you gotta clean out all the R12 before you add 134a. I flushed mine with mineral spirits then flushed that with denatured.
  5. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
  6. A sensor won't work and kills the engine because of a ~3 ohm impedance? Only in a Renix. Damn, what a POS designed system. :shake: I know that just re-doing that ground wire solved about half of my trucks running and driveability issues. The other half was my ignition system, which is now shiny and new. I still have a random miss at a very specific RPM and throttle position, but it isn't consistent and only happens when the engine is up to temp completely. At this point I think the last of my problems are with the intake air temp sensor, with which I can find no replacements. Use the newer Chrysler sensor and swap the plug end, it works fine.

  8. Probably the sender, I've gone through a couple of them. Mine reads cool also but my Efan comes on at 180, it's a 195 Spal and I trust it over the sender/gauge.
  9. Sounds to me like the oil is loading up in the front of the head......valve seals.
  10. I have the JKS and I'm happy with it. NAPA sells the bushing if you have a press and the patience.
  11. I replaced mine from the PnP. I runs down inside the door but I cut it off just below the window opening and replaced that section. It just pulls out.
  12. Yes. But that will require new axles that can support the deeper gears. 4.88 is as deep as you can go in stock axles. I think my TJ Rubi is a dog on hills with 35's, 5.13's and a 4.0. Mnkyboys 2.5 is something you should look at. I think the root of your problem is a tired motor. You can do a tune up and replace/clean sensors, but a rebuild is the only way to 'restore' what little power the 2.5 made when new. I know my 181K mile 2.5 with 30's and about 2" of lift is tired, and it requires a downshift to 4th at any hill on the interstate usually topping out at 70mph. I didn't ketch the '86. My statement stands, however. I've got a compression issue and a new engine waiting when I get the time........that said....... I tool around town in 5th gear at 35-40 all the time on 31s. The idea that you have to be at the top of RPMs to get any grunt out of a 2.5 is just not true. Interstate at 70 and I retain 5th.......overpasses and all. Get it running right first.
  13. Have you gone through cruiser's renix tips yet? EVERY ONE OF THEM? Do nothing until you do that........that includes getting rid of your c101. There is a reason you are getting single digit MPG and it has nothing to do with gearing.
  14. More stupidity. http://boone.craigslist.org/ptd/4960472663.html Straight '84...........fools.
  15. I rarely ever let my feelings be known here----- That said- Some people, maybe most people......absolutely SUCK!!!!!!!! Because they are STUPID!!!!!!!!!!
  16. And BTW....that ain't cheap. Spal from Summit for about $22 Or you can go Spal programmable for about $120
  17. I've used it before....junk......but you can find out for yourself.
  18. Where is the flex plate that was on your truck originally?
  19. You state in your OP that he had a 96 AW4 attached to the engine.........I'll be you anything that the flex plate is a 96 and not a 91.
  20. I think we are beginning to see why your wife is afraid of the truck.
  21. The trailing edge of the rotor should be just leaving #1 when at TDC. Sounds like you may be a tooth off.
  22. I guess you know you do not have a sway bar?
  23. That's all wrong.
  24. If the x is missing, I'm wondering if the block was destined for Canada or overseas. IOWs, does the X indicate US emissions regulation compliant?
