  4. I had a whacky issue with the fuel pressure regulator myself, never could get it to test bad but as soon as I broke down and replaced it my issue went away...though my issue was an over fueling one rather than not starting. :dunno:
  5. hey guys, Like many people on this forum i got to the junk yard a lot. No matter how well prepared i think i am it always turns out there is some tool or something which would have made my job 10x easier if I had thought to bring it. I figure as a group we have probably made excursions to junk yards hundreds if not thousands of times so who better to consult about a Junkyard tool kit than us? Here's some things I have learned from several frustrating "learning experiences" are good to have at the junk yard Tin snips (if you can't remove it correctly you can probably cut it out  ) flashlight cheap poncho (if you think you can go to the JY without it raining; you're going to have a bad time!) gloves or rag to wipe ones hands with (greasy hands are not good for gripping tools) goggles (rust in eyes is not fun!) pry bar socket wrench & sockets (SAE, METRIC, DEEP, adapters, etc) locking pliers (when one of those "clips" breaks its about the only thing that works) Water (seriously guys stay hydrated!, i once saw a guy pass out in the heat of summer) 1/2" drive torx sockets (for those pesky seat belts!) these are things that I believe are worth the effort of carrying to the jeep section, which is inevitably the furthest point from the entrance... here are somethings I desire to add but just haven't yet: penetrating oil (missed out on a premo bench seat due to my inability to budge the rusted on bolts) hammer (a little brute force is never a bad thing (when you haven't paid for anything yet), though usually you can find some random part to apply that force) good set of wrenches(I have been looking for a cheap but durable set any suggestions?) Easy to carry box/bag for tools(I have a cheapy box i use currently but I think something easier to carry is more in order for the long walk, and mine keeps unlatching and spilling all the tools on the ground) so that's all i've got to contribute to the list. please share your tools of preference and maybe a story to go along with that suggestion! --- ps just thought of how cool a comancheclub toolbox would be :MJ 1:
  6. That was the craziest Craigslist post I have ever seen.... :ack:

  13. Love talking politics on a forum about trucks! We should do this more often.....EDIT: just realized this was in the pub but still I was so proud of us for avoiding the ever divisive topic of politics! :dunno:
  14. Since you already need a shifter boot you should ditch the mini console and throw a Cherokee full console in...and maybe find a matching seat :rotf: just messing with ya but seriously though nice truck. If those issues are all you have then you got urself a good'n.
  15. I also live east of Nashville, not that far though, in lavergne :waving:
  16. HEY OP! Where in TN are you?
  17. mine has 2 grounds, one which allows both lights to come on (like when the door is opened) the other to allow independent operation of the lights. One hot, 2 ground. I am not sure about yours but that is how mine is. If yours has one ground and switched hot(s) then you could use a relay set up to switch with a ground to allow the door jamb switches (which are ground switches) to operate the lights when the doors are opened. Either way you will need to make sure yours operates one way or the other. GL
  18. this one needs some love....
  19. That blue one is really clean
  20. Finally got my ds door power window and lock conversion done, now both doors are power mirror lock and window. Now I just need to install the remote start I've had for three months, complete with lock controls
  21. Could have sworn I updated this, after replacing the fuel pressure regulator I have had no further issues not even a hiccup, previously my spells of normality were littered with short instances of the issue which are no longer present. At the moment I consider the issue resolved thank you all for your input.
  22. I found my build sheet....
  23. I've gotten mine to about 92 before, measured via gps. About that speed and I was afraid it would begin shaking parts off.
  24. Most parts for your 88 can be obtained from any pre-90 MJ or XJ but some parts are the same or compatable throughout the years of both vehicles. Generally speaking for your vehicle any part from the doors forward can be found from 87-89 XJs. Including that fuse box you need. Browse the MJ tech forum for a while and you can get a real handle on what exactly can and can not be swapped from year to year, heck even the DIY forum has a lot of that stuff in it, and several ways to add cupholders(a fine MJ art).
  25. I have a bit of luck at my local advance, they guys there are usually knowledgeable but the autozone people are just asses who act like you are bothering them by asking them to do something that is their job to do. needless to say i don't go there unless i have to.
