Picked up a new bed for the bee. The bed it has on it now is straight but dented all to hell. I found this at my local pnp and could not pass it up. It only has one dent, near the drivers door and the gas door is bent for some reason. Much less work than having to fill and sand and sand and sand and sand 50 dents out of the current bed. Also I know there are at least 2 different colors of paint on top of the factory paint on the Bumblebee's bed so that would be no fun to sand either. here it is on the back of Clair-E

Picked up another bed my family thinks I have an obsession..and i think they are right! :rotf: surprised I didn't get pulled over on the way home, luckily it is only like 3 miles. Picked it up for 150 + tax at my pnp, they made me pay extra for the bedliner that was in it though, another $20, worth it. Its a duraliner and I love the way it mounts in there! No holes anywhere and its tight. This bed is destined to be on the bumblebee and in the mean time before I can finish painting Clair-E I will put the bumblebee's bed onto her.

If you still can't find one I think the 2.5 at my local jy has one.

One More 4X4 Swap Question

Does 90 have mechanical speedo? That might also be an issue since the 93 definitely doesn't have a mechanical speedo. -
all i had to pay was like $90 when i get my dog from the pound, guess that is a tax, The dog is supposed to be "free"

Hydroplaned like you wouldn't believe! less than year old tires and I swear it can't go a day in the rain without sliding. Need to put some weight in the bed...

Trailer Wiring for 4 wire and 6 pole receiver
relyt120 replied to Akula69's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
Thanks for the great write-up! I used this to take it a bit further and create a plug and play trailer harness using both ends of the connector from a spare rear wiring harness I acquired. It just goes between the rear harness of the mj and the tail light harness  Worth the effort in my book as spares my tail light harness from being hacked up; and luckily for me the spare harness had already been hacked up and had the flat 4 connector with it. -
got some craftsman wrenches and an angle grinder =)

Brake Booster Confusing???
relyt120 replied to insaneclowns04's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The 95 and 96 are different than the 97+. I believe 97+ needs some more adjustments to work. I did the 95 on mine, not too bad. Now that I think of it I have one from 96 in my garage. Pm me and we may be able to work something out. -
I've never heard of different prices for parts from different vehicles, around here it is same price for same type of part. So a taillight is always the same price no matter the vehicle, usually about $20 each though :fs1:
-
I have a complete taillight harness but it is from a 91 and I know that the connectors are different, BUT I thought ahead and got the other side of the connector too so if you can't find a plug and play harness and don't mind splicing a new connector then shoot me a PM and we can work something out. Also welcome! :waving:

Mysterious Connector Near Transmission

So just to verify, I should connect the one on top with the one hanging down? -
Mysterious Connector Near Transmission
relyt120 replied to relyt120's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The plot thickens...the plug is coming out of the transmission itself and I found another one, one of those weatherproof 2 cable connectors up on top of the trans (the green one). I took some more pics but they are still blurry. It seems the camera on my phone doesn't like close up pics :shake: -
Mysterious Connector Near Transmission
relyt120 replied to relyt120's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yeah I thought the pics would be a little less than helpful, It's a manual transmission so i'm thinking if it is an AW4 cable then it's either unneeded or it is in fact not the cable in question. I will attempt to clean it and see if I can either get some better light under there for pics or just to poke around to see if there is someplace to plug it. Thanks for looking! -
Hey all, Another mystery in the BumbleBee. I was under the truck looking at the exhaust and say a connector just hanging there. It is covered in grime and I don't know where it goes and was hoping oneone here would know something about it. Hopefully these pics arent totally useless. Here's some pics: Thanks in advance!

Oh yeah also I thought I had a line on some pristine 2dr xj seats and other goodies but I call the guy and he says they crushed it; the ad was only 2 days old! What a let down :ack:

I also was having some dying issues and posted up my issue to the tech forum and proceeded to test and clean the cps. Used a ratchet extension and my parts cleaning toothbrush (Courtesy of the dentist), tied them together and applied carb cleaner. I managed to improve the cps output without shelling out $50 for a new one and I didn't even have to crawl under  the issue is mostly gone, I think the only dying issue I have now is the stubborn first gear

Yeah the paint looked a lot better in the ad but both fenders are crap and the doors have the mounting holes from the mirrors so I'm just going to replace those and repaint. I am letting my cousin decide the color so we will see how that turns out.

I cleaned the crankshaft position sensor, I accidentally typed tps I have edited my post to reflect this error.
-
I tested the cps and it was reading just a tad low so I cleaned it with a toothbrush attached to a ratchet extension and some carb cleaner and it reads adequately now and I took it around the block a few times and the issue seems to be gone. Crank time is till.a bit higher than I'd like it but I will worry about that after I take care of the leaking injector I found. Thank you all for your help.

Seriously hornbrod Cruiser, if you weren't a man I'd kiss you.

Thank you all for such prompt responses! I will check into each of those issues in turn. Would any of these (crank sensor, or tps) cause the extended start time? I'm assuming the answer is yes. As for the fuel filter I assumed that it had been changed recently cause I found an old one in the bed when i picked the truck up, I find that I have made too many assumptions with this one and will check it and replace if need be. Once again thanks!
