  1. Installed aux fuse panel quickly realized I had nothing to plug into it..... what to do what to do
  2. l look forward to how this project turns out
  3.
  4. looks great on the outside but the interior isnt even all the same color, for 10.5k I'd want the interior a little nicer
  5. if i were you i'd be on the look out for a spare speedocable, when that thing fails you won't be able to find one
  6. I'm not entirely sure but I think you may need a new one. Hopefully someone will have a solution for you but afaik thats not good.
  7. you'll notice that the new one does not have Speedo connector. You can't change that unless you go thru the trouble of installing the newer Speedo sensor or whatever and wiring it in. I'm not even sure that would work but it definately wouldn't be worth it. You need to get one that is renix and therefore has the Speedo connector. Also the housing should be blue like your old one if they don't label correctly
  8. tach is plug n place, and the temp sensor isnt bad to get to at all
  9. I've got a spare currently that I plan on painting. There's been a recent surge in the number of 97+ xj's at my JY i may go try and cash in on these things (get em like $50)
  10. Either from a donor or the parts store, I would say to get from parts store. I got my temp sender from the JY and I am a little skeptical about its accuracy. oil sender i got from parts store was like $30 I actually was having an issue getting the temp one now that I think of it since they try to give you the OTHER temp sensor or just a temp switch. if you can find it get a new one. no need to complicate something that should be pretty simple :yeah that: you are right, I read his request for a "step by step guide to upgrading" as a request for a step by step guide for installation. Parts selection is indeed an important part of it that I neglected.
  11. That is creative and looks pretty sweet!
  12. can you really sell those for that much???
  13. here's how it goes.... 1) get new cluster and senders 2) remove dash bezel(theres a couple of screws above the cluster)carefully they can break 3) remove the screws that hold the cluster in, i think there are 5 or 6 4) unplug the cluster, if you have a renix unplug the speedo cable. to remove the speedo cable you may need to unhook the other end of it which is at the tranny, or just give yourself some slack from the engine bay 5) remove the old cluster 6) reconnect everything to the new one 7) screw everything back together 8) install new senders 9) enjoy
  14. sweet, be aware that it may have electric locks/windows so you might have to move the regulators over if you want it to be the same on both sides.
  15. agreed, I still look at them stupid when they break out the tape measure :rotfl2:
  16. There are some at express. but they charge by the foot comes out to like $20 last time i got a set
  17. 2-door cherokee seats will not bolt right in, you will have to adapt your bench seat floor brackets to accept them. The 2 door seats are preferred because unlike 4-door seats they fold forward as the MJ buckets do, allowing access to the storage space behind the seats. They only seats that will bolt in are seats out of an MJ.
  18. :teehee: lol i guess thats what happens when i'm on CC at 2 am!
  19. ...Andy did like he was told, buffed those shoes to a high mirror shine. The guard simply didn't notice. Neither did I...I mean, seriously, how often do you really look at a mans shoes? Andy crawled to freedom through five hundred yards of $#!& smelling foulness I can't even imagine, or maybe I just don't want to. Five hundred yards...that's the length of five football fields, just shy of half a mile.
  20. There's not much that can't be overcome. Many a MJ has seen that many miles and still road off into the sunset so don't let that deter you, if it runs well. Check for rust under the carpet, at the rockers and fender flares. Also check the frame rails for rust. If it is a manual check and see if any of the fuses are melted from a leaking clutch master cylinder, that can be a lot of work to fix, or a simple fix depending on severity. If it runs drive it, make sure it shifts well just as you wood any other vehicle. Check the fluids, i find that if someone claims that a vehicle is well maintained then it aught to have good fluid levels when you look at it. Be wary though as some sellers may top off the fluids to give the illusion of regular maintenance. Try as many of the electronics as you can if you can, non functioning blinkers, headlights, break lights, radio, etc can be symptoms of rotten wiring. If one or two things don't work it may have an easy fix but just be aware there be gremlins. If you don't find anything that you don't think you can handle and it runs well then snatch it up, but if its a POS that needs every single thing replaced and you don't have the time, money, or patience to bring it back to its former glory then bide your time and find a nicer one. I'm sure I forgot something here but this is what I would go through in my head if looking at another MJ.
  21. i have got one! Somewhere... let me look around for it. Found it: some of the wires are a bit short but should be usable. Stupid PO's!
  22. Replaced starter relay after it randomly died
  23. I am completely jealous that you got both those trucks for less than I got mine AND one of them is a 92 with d44 and buckets. You lucky dog :fs1:
