  1. That's awesome. What I like about where I am right now is it's local for me. So, no having to move or anything, yet. Which is a big thing, because I know as soon as I dissapear my truck will pretty much have to go. And thread hijacking is perfectly fine! I think that as soon as he re-indexs his dist. it'll work. It's unlikely that there's anything really wrong with his 4.0, they're tanks.
  2. Will be apprenticing in a while. For now I'm stuck doing the basic stuff. I'm at nothern light's 'southern' campus, so we're limited as far as actual aircraft. As in, we have none residing. But as soon as I move up to the main campus, apparently they've got a bell 206, 212, and a couple cessna's. But, we've got more non-servicable engines to play with than we'll EVER know what to do with.
  3. Dude! I've just started my AME at Northern Light's in BC. There's a few :Canadaflag: around here.
  4. Are you an AME? I forgot, there's a mark on the harmonic balancer that indicates TDC. It's hard to see.
  5. Possibly. Re-index the dist 180 degrees from what it is and try again. Even the best get it wrong.
  6. The seals will leak. If you force air into whatever they are sealing, instead of water coming in through the leaks, air will come out. It's a longevity thing. You can survive a lot without, but it's recommended you change the fluids after every water crossing in that case.
  7. The canadian crap tool store "princess auto" sells one for about $20. Seems to work fine.
  8. Welded mine on at 42". That's the nearest imperial measure. Looks like it worked.
  9. Doesn't make much difference at all. I eschewed mine pretty much when I bought it. First winter I had it, the mercury was hitting -40. Still warms up in decent time (given the conditions).
  10. Maybe. Maybe not. I'd ask the ZJ guys. Hmmm, www.mallcrawlin.com would be the better bet. The front ends are VERY similar.
  11. Get an isuzu 12B, or D44, both can be had with 4.56s easy. Or a toyota 8". Or, or, a D60. Or, a ford 9 third out of a truck, and a housing from a bronco.
  12. Spam can be so interesting. I mean, since when have we discussed public transportation plans? Unless they're the ones involving a small minority of the public, and just happen to start where the pavement ends.
  13. Doesn't do $#!&. Supposed to aid cold start up. With EFI. Right.
  14. Gotta agree with jbhill. I'd just pass it over. As a parts donor exploders are pretty useless. And it is most likely a 3.73 or 3.55 axle. I'd look around for a disk one with 4.10's and the track lock. It works decent in the light rear of the MJ. But, for $250 if you want to take the time you could part it out and make money. Fords aren't very reliable, so there's always market for the parts. That and the rear driveshaft might be useable for something.
  15. They should fit without issues. I was looking at mommy's WJ and they're almost definatly the same. Aside from the bend. It's the rear CA's that are longer.
  16. Jeep was cheap. There's no differences in the 5-link front other than the slight bend in the WJ LCAs.
  17. I've been busy. Just not on the truck. Obviously I need to stop wheeling the XJ... But, yeah, 12B pretty much ready to go. Just gotta bolt her in and put the brake lines on. Image Not Found Oh yeah, light was bad.
  18. I doubt it'd be easy... But, if you take an old wide slotted screw driver and warm it up and bend the tip over 90* you might be able to pop all of the little clips without wrecking the panel. If it gets wrecked, go see a wrecker.
  19. I was talking styling. The drivetran is garbage. But, nothing a little redneck engineering won't fix :brows:
  20. Oh yeah, and one side at a time, as Pete said. Unless you're changing the length of them dramatically (by like 4").
  21. Just get the front end up in the air. Undo the LCA's, sledgehammer them out. Then attempt to put the new ones in (sledgehammer) and if it's a no-go use a bottle jack to move the front axle around. It can take some creativity.
  22. Looks custom. I'd say 2dr XJ that was cut. That'd be an izusu P/U window in the back there. Anyways, welcome.
  23. uuhh..post..was a 10' galvanized steel fence post that i chopped down. its 4" dia and 1/8" wall. it weighs 50lbs so far..lol AHAHAH. Okay. That'd be pipe...
  24. Not really my thing. Well, I think the best open top Jeep as far as the styling went was the YJ. I know I'm going to take flak for that.
  25. Tube or pipe? Looking good! Still haven't built my own. Well, the flatbed works as one.
