  1. Early Bronco.
  2. That could go downhill in a hurry. I wonder if you'd get pulled over lots in it.
  3. EB bolt pattern is 5x5.5? You can make the D60 outers work with that. Call currie.
  4. Hi-9's are 9" third members that are custom built to make them high-pinion. And I mean, they're REALLY high-pinion. And portal-tek's are custom 9" housings with modified volvo portal boxes. http://www.portal-tek.com/ You can put a hi-9 in them and have the strangest driveshaft angle problem ever. It will actually be too steep in the upward direction!
  5. Most of the 9" fronts use D60 outers. Actually, never seen one without? You can actually homebrew them up too, but, it's a lot of work. I know a CJ that's running around with 9" front and rear and has been for about 15 years! Anywho, 9" axles are a great choice if you want to throw money around. Consider Hi-9's front and rear. Mmm. Or, portal-tek 9" axles. O-lalala.
  6. I'd notch the LCA brackets for clearance... You're going to have trouble with it bottoming out on them otherwise.
  7. You're limited at the hubs. You can't go larger than the 30 spline (IIRC) stock outers. If you break a chromo shaft there, it's all over. Then the only option is to put D60 outers on it. If the D44 will hold or not depends on a lot of things.
  8. Not a very useful pic, but that'll give you an idea of the width. The rear is too narrow right now. Almost all spacers are alright as long as they are the ones with studs pressed into them that you bolt on then bolt the wheel to. Image Not Found
  9. How much coin do you really want to throw around? I know of a D44 front that will be 64" WMS-WMS, and several good quality rears in the same size. But, it depends wether you think a D44 will hold your 38s... Mmm.
  10. It doesn't track wider! Even though it is wider! Front axle is 61" WMS-WMS. Rear is 58.5". The reason that it appears any wider is that the stock rims have a much lower backspacing as the smaller heeps. If you want to see how wide a wag D44 is with 15x8's with 3.5" BS under a MJ, just holler.
  11. If anybody cares, to tell a two-peice axle from a one peice all you need to do it look at the flange with the studs on it that you bolt your wheels too... if there's a big forking nut in the middle, it's two peice. No nut, one peice.
  12. I think the MJ is the best truck I've ever owned. But, the only trucks I've ever owned were MJs? Hmm.. They're good decent vehicles. Jeeps are realiable until you mod them. So, it allows you to learn things over time. Or, immediatly get @$$-deep in god knows what.
  13. It's not difficult to get the 1" spacers you need though. About $80? No biggy. You could use adapters to change the 6-lug to 5x4.5 if you plan to keep the Dana-Turdy front. Or, if you're running tires with low enough BS, it'll work fine without.
  14. Take the main leaf from a S-10 pack and cut the eyes off it. Insert it in your pack below the main leaf (on each side). Re-drill the centre holes on the spring perches. Both problems solved...ish
  15. It will be 58.5" WMS/WMS though. Needs spacers.
  16. A FSJ AMC20 has one-peice shafts.
  17. What are you looking to run regarding tire size? A D60 rear is easy. Dodge, Ford, Chevy, Jeep all offer D60 rears that are fullwidth. But, if you want narrow, it's not going to happen.
  18. Man, I really want to write a FAQ regarding this question and a bunch of others. You want something stronger! (Ford 8.8, XJ/MJ D44, Wagoneer D44s/AMC20, Isuzu 12B, Bronco 9"/D44, etc etc.)
  19. Wagoneer = D44 front and AMC20 or D44 rear. The one you describe is an AMC20.
  20. I just about had it sitting on all 4 tires today. Other than just as I was knocking the front axle into place the hi-lift kicked out. One jackstand just about went through the floor. Another crushed a rocker. The front tires/springs ate it into the fenders. Whole front end seems kinda screwy now. Ah well. I'll fix it tomorrow.
  21. The no-slip apparently is 'better'. Or is that the lock-right? I dunno, throw in whichever one seems heavier.
  22. Cappa is 'ere, eh? Hmm. I like you. You're an a$$hole. But I like a$$holes. Oh, and I couldn't actually be bothered to read the whole thread.
  23. Probably not too well! Ah, if you built it right, anything is possible.
  24. Yeah, instead it's a unibody cooked up by a super-computer owned by renault. Or was it bendix that cooked it up? Oh, who cares.
