You'd be suprised just how many wiring problems go away when you put fuses in. And I think you need to check some grounds.

Proof it drove. Image Not Found Al's (editor or Can4x4 magazine) big CJ. Image Not Found Sucker is no CJ. The only CJ parts on it is that front grille and the hood. Image Not Found Yeah, rear steer. Chromo shafts all around. Full hydro in the front too. Aluminum tub sitting on a hand-built frame with 2" .120 ERW tube cage all throughout it. Its built actually to run deep snow, it just floats along the top. Oh, there's a 500HP 401 under the hood... This FJ actuall has independant suspension. Image Not Found It's hard to make out. But it's built using gamma-goat axles. Anything off-road and manual owns you bad. It's not the same, but I broke the serpentine belt on my XJ (idler seized) and had to load it onto a trailor like that. 4lo and steering like that, takes a half hour to load the f'ing thing.

I have no idea why I can't read. F-150 coils give upwards of 4-4.5"~. They're actually SHORTER than the XJ/MJ coils, IIRC. Thunderturd coils are about 3.5-4"~. The only 180lb/in coils that RE sells are the ZJ ones and possibly if they make an 8" XJ/MJ coil. 180lb/in is too stiff.

BFG m/ts are blah. They're what I run... I'm probably going to give MTR's a shot as I can get a set of 37s for a reasonable price.

The F-1-fiddy coils are probably about 210lb/in. The T-bird one is about 140lb/in. Most aftermarket coils are 150lb/in, or less.

Mmm... Mid 80s-90s. I know them by looking at them, not their year or generation. The V-6 ones should give 3-3.5~ and be of a reasonable rate. They are variable rate however (not really a problem for most people).

So, I take it you left some poor dude's exploder's @$$ end up on blocks in the wal-mart parking lot?

How long did it take to drill out all the leafs? I did mine (all 4 packs), and gave up after I carnaged two titanium bits (with cutting oil) on the first leaf. Then I went 'duh' and used a tapered reamer. Now, had I been half smart I'd not have carnaged the two $12 ti. bits.

Use thunderbird coils if you're going to use ford coils... The F-trucks all came with very high spring rates as they were heavy and ment to hold more crap.

I'm exhausted. I took it for a test drive. -No rear shocks. Or tail lights. Or plates. -Brakes weren't bled quite right - I will have to deal with it. -Tranny mount is WAY too stiff. I have no idea if it is even going to work like this. I'm afraid that it hasn't enough give and it is going to carnage something. Perhaps itself. I guess that's what you get for using leaf spring bushings. -The connection between the tie-rod and drag link (inverted T) hits the passenger side leaf spring. I have no idea how to fix it yet... -I never got around to wiring the fans...

Looks good. How well did the S-10 tonneau fit?

They aren't a mud tire... My buddy who competes in his YJish thing runs them - seem to do alright for him at 8psi in the rocks.

The cheap way (which I'd opt for) is to get a set of 2" drop shackles for a full-size chebby. Or, make my own. However, I believe that RE makes some good quality shackles, and should have some that are long enough...

Any idea how far foreward the front axle is VS stock? If I don't like my wag springs I might have to go to lift YJ ones...
