  1. August or September would be good. I think August sounds the best, maybe the end of August. :dunno:
  2. Nothing wrong with the truck. Just big gears and a three speed 350 turbo trans. But I do have to wire my locking torque converter up. If we do have a Mid-Michigan meet those of you that do not want to wheel all day and then drive home might be able to stay at my place (camp in the yard, I live on a few acres). We could spend the day wheelin' and then spend the evening barbequeing, sitting around the bonfire and drinking beer. And take some poser pics in the yard and junk like that. So I guess lets see what kind of interest we have in this so I can make a list and let my neighbors know I will be having a bunch of wild hooligans hangin' around. Maybe fall isn't such a good idea. Maybe late summer. That way it is still warm enough to hang outside. WELL WHO IS INTERESTED? We need to agree on a date!
  3. Mine doesn't like the highway. Or any speeds over 45mph. She wraps at about 3100RPM at 50.
  4. I am still willing to make a day of it. My truck should be up and running by the 10th. I could make the Badlands if someone had an open spot on a trailer. But anyhow I think someone suggested the idea of a fall meet at the Mounds so maybe we could toss the idea around again?
  5. Allstar solid mounts for circle track cars. don't remember the part# but they ran me abot $30.

Here is my dream ride. I fell in love with this body style when they came out in 96'. This just happens to be a rare TRD widebody.
  7. I don't think it will work for your idea but I was thinking of getting a cargo rack like the ones they put on the roofs of the Yamaha Rhinos. Add 3 or four fog lights and it might not look bad on roof of a Comanche. Sorry for the thread jack. I now return you to your regularly scheduled forum topic already in progress. :brows:
  8. I used the stock springs for a bit when the 350 went in there. Shouldn't be too much of a problem.
  9. Well persistance does pay off. I got my skid plate yesterday. It needs some restoration so I will have before and after pics up as soon as I can. I am in the process of cutting out that gawd awful piece of angle and welding in some tube. The it is time for paint and them slap it on the truck.
  10. Well the Jeep gods were against me yesterday. The skid plate would not come off. I am gonna call the yard and see how much they will charge to haul it to the front and remove the bolt heads with a die grinder. Also a XJ wagoneer grille is almost an inch wider on each side. The headlights are skinnier I am guessing.
  11. I myself like a Michigan Brewing Company IPA. Citrusy, hoppy, dry and loaded with alcohol. A six pack will get ya tipsy. And that is comin from a guy who can drink a pint of 151 and still stand strong for the whole night.
  12. The tow hooks and brackets are a little rusty so I am gonna see what happens. One side is already off someone just didn't have torx bits to remove them from the bumper. I already have hooks on mine so I don't think I need them. If I can get them off and you want them you got first dibs. One thing is the bracket that attaches to the bumper itself is a little bent but nothing that cannot be straightened easily.
  13. How is the front factory skid plate held on? Are They regular bolts or are they torx heads? I found one on a Cherokee in the junkyard yesterday and I am going back to get it today. It has factory tow hooks also. I might grab them. And my next question. Is a wagoneer grill the same length as a normal cherokee grill. I have a crazy idea involving a waggy grille and my truck. Oh yeah one more do the rear bump stops off a ZJ fit the comanche?
  14. I am just going on the way the Challenger looks. If they did as good of a job as they did on those cars I think it could be a nice looking truck. And as for the drivetrain I wouldn't write it off just yet. They did bring back the Hemi so someone has to have a bit of sense over there. :dunno:
  15. I wouldnt mind one of those stock tube bumpers either.
  16. If you look close at the rear bumper it looks like a Smittybuilt. I say this because the ends have a bend in them while the other examples have straight tubes. But if someone wants to buy it and send me the bumper I wouldn't say no. :brows:
  17. Yeah I would also like to know where you got these.
  18. You could also contact the company or person that was supposed to give you the pass and most times they can take care of it for you. But usually this has to be done in a timely manner. I used to work for a cleaning company and we would have to park on the street downtown. I must have gotten 3 or 4 parking tickets and never had to pay one. It might be worth a shot. Then again $35 isn't too bad to pay to be done with it.
  19. Kinda what I thought. Oh well we can still dream about a retro new Comanche. :chillin:
  20. I saw a tube bumper on the rear of your truck in the first few pics. Any idea of the brand? I want to get one to match my front bumper.
  21. I found another one. This one ain't very good either.
  22. That is fresh :D
  23. "Yeah, I like K-Mart underwear, yeah"
  24. I don't know how different they are but I put a new TV cable on my 350turbo. On the throttle end you hook it up snug but not tight and then push the throttle to WO by hand and it should adjust itself. But that is a chevy motor and trans. To my knowledge there is no big difference in the way these parts work. BTW how do you like the propane? I was considering a conversion kit for my rig.
  25. The black "D" windows that Unique makes are good looking and can be had for around $30 each brand new.
