  1. x a million Ive acctually got an XJ with 3.07's and as much as I like the peel-ability of it, Id rather have some 3.55's for it.
  2. Jtrucks ran that grille, known as a Razor, till 1978. 1979-1981 was the Pignose. All plastic, square lights with a huge snout in the middle. The razor ran on SJ trucks from oh, I believe 1971. Anything before that was the Rhino. Thats a 4x4. Last model year for a 2wd SJ was 1968 with the J-200's 360 with a Turbo 400 and a Dana 20 part/time case. decent drivetrain.
  3. 3k is a little high IMO Toss 2500 and do your damnedest toget that. Thats a clean J.
  4. sounds nice! we did up a 22lb berd for 7 of us. Awesome dinner, lots of good times this year so far and its just gettin' better dontcha love xmas wounds?
  5. I'm requesting you all cram it. As much as I dislike xmas, Hornbrod was closest to the mark. Shut the f*ck up, Merry X-mas and go eat more Turkey-Berd. If you wanna argue, take it to pm, email, other forms of stuff. Come'on guys. This isn't Pirate where you're flamed for having feelings.
  6. I gotcha covered Pat. Ill call the yard after xmas and get a price.
  7. but front XJ belts would work? Ill call the yard sometime in a couple days. There's an 86 XJ in there with black interior. Alll black, but with black'n'white specked upholstery. 2.5L EFI with an auto tranny. 4.10 gears should be there, righty?
  8. Remember that the newer 4-oh's were made to run without an egr? There were lots of fights in the 'Visual Inspection' states with HO's about no EGR. Nick, if you've already got the block and head off'n a 97, just swap the exhaust on and go. Should be fine.
  9. will black XJ belts work? pm me pat-man. I can help yah.
  10. I'm starting on the 90 parts xj teardown in the next week or so. I may need to do ball joints on the new axle :( but, next week we're also gettin the MJ started and pulled into the sun and running...he's already put octane booster and new 93 octane fuel in to mix with the old fuel. tires aired up to see how long they'll hold. you mean the SJ? 'Cause that MJ to put up looks pretty full of air and gas.
  11. i toyed with the thought. the mounts will need to be lowered an inch'n'a bit to get it all to clear the hood.
  12. thanks jo-seppie. man, shoot me a pm, gotta get you on my msn.
  13. I noticed I never credited it to whoever said it. I think it was Pong or MJeff. Whoever said it, post it up. please? for the record. read my siggy.
  14. this is a question better fielded by the Fullsize Jeep folks http://www.ifsja.org Hit forum, register, ask away, be sure to throw in that you're from here. Lots of SJ/MJ owners over there.
  15. closed knuckle means just that. an enclosed knuckle that is greasable.
  16. keep the original badges on the heep. Instead of yanking them off.
  17. if you harm this truck in any way, I will kill you. :brows: its too nice to fawk with
  18. Ive seen your 86 MJ. Thats just the ticket for this Bronc's guts. leaves one thing. what about your street-sweeper Dodge? Gotta do something with that.. like give it to us :brows:
  19. looks like factory tube bumper rear and factory deer-strainer on the front.
  20. dude something goes wrong with the 3800 almost every damnable day haha. atleast its fixable most of the time.
  21. my old neighbors 78 J-20 401/Th400/QT ate its transmissions regularly. and even though its got an AMC bellhousing bolt pattern, its still a chev th400 and methinks his problem was the T/C input shaft was wobbling loose and taking out the insides slowly
  22. the crabby kiwi is my XJ's name. when I tore the interior apart, I found a kiwi husk in a mouse nest, that and the XJ is green, the crabby part comes from the crab apple tree that grows opposite the XJ on the lawn, my brother used to throw crab apples at the XJ till he ran out of'em  the mj was called piggy. It was loud, hard to handle, smelled like poo and nomatter how hard I tried, it always got wedged into mud somewhere. you can't change the name of the heep, but changing the name of your project is fine. like, Project Misfit: *insert heep's name*
  23. his sig lists a 4.3L/TH400/D300 buildup for his mj.
  24. its got a TF904 3spd auto. Probably 4.10's its got an NP207 case.
  25. first bought. 1989 2.5l spd 2wd SWB MJ first free. 1991 2.3 auto Fawrd Tempo latest. $200 1989 XJ. 4.0L BA10/5, NP231, 30/35 w/ 3.07's.
