  1. just grabbed 2 more parts rig. $50 and a Tim Horton's coffee. Trading the more complete one for a set of 5.29 Toy axles with a Lincoln locker in the rear. Zooks are plentiful and very few are acctually complete. I'm ditchin the complete one for the axles and caging it out this weeek. Pics to come.
  2. ... I bought a zook to wheel. half the weight of a YJ, EFI, no etest on this one, cold start injector for that extra push, 31's $500. Cheaper than any jeep out there, and it came plated too. Now I can focus on my new aquisition project. Get that '66 CJ-5
  3. Depends on if you were on a first name basis with the turkey first. Self-raised turkey is 11-nty billion times better than free-bird. also true
  4. thanks Wildman. I'm spending today Jeephunting hehehe. I know of a '66 CJ-5 225/D20/T86 up here and its my misson today to find it. Oh and I just sold the MJ so I got the go-ahead to collect another Jeep "If you must... *sigh*"- the girlfriend fyi. For you al-mellycans wild turkey is about 50,000,000x better than store-bought.
  5. dude http://ifsja.org the forum there is the best for Fullsize J-rigs
  6. well the project will be underway soon. I'm reregistering it at a Renrew county address so I'm exempt from Emissions. Doing it all redneck style. Cheap.
  7. I'm CANADIAN! I'm reciting MY backwards assed provinces rules. if I put a 4.0 in, I still have to e-test it AND fhuck with the wiring to make it work. If I plop a 4-2 in it, along with a 5spd and a t-case. That opens my door to move it and enjoy it again.... while I work on the next motar it'll be an AMC 401. Probably efi. a set of 44's or maybe a 44 front 60 rear will plop in next winter. It'll be backed my either a stock J-20 transmission that goes with the 401 OR An NV4550.
  8. Thats completely wrong btw. Figured I'd let you know before you start swapping stuff. You still have to do an etest it is just different limits and it will likely be harder to get insurance because your technically supposed to let MTO know. I've been through all this before if you want more info. And personally, you couldnt pay me enough to put in a 4.2L my insurance company already knows the plans. The e-test thing as Ive been told and read in the Emissions book is that anything with a different displacement than any engine offered in a stock format is classified as a hotrod. So a 4-2 will be exempt.
  9. ... I'm keeping it. So I tried for the last 3 months to sell the MJ, not happenin. Can't give the prick away. So I got talking to a few of my local club members and they said between all the parts they are going to send to the scrapper, I lack all of an axle with a 3.55 ratio for my front end. I'm keeping the MJ. I am movin' around and joining the Volunteer F.D and I need a 4x4. So the new plan is to stick a 4.2 in so I can be exempt from emissions testing (anything other than a factory availabe engine in that model line is considered a hotrod therefore exempt from emissions) after that, goes in the BA-10 and 231. Its from a YJ so some modifications will have to happen no doubt. Its also getting a 3-4" lift when its all apart. I'm getting the drivetrain for free to save someone else from scrapping it. Over the winter months though, I'm going to be putting together either a 4.0 stroker OR an AMC 401 that I have tracked down. But thats if I have time. I'm going to get a small set of 33's to go onto the rig and trim up the fenders to get rido' the rust. Over the winter I'm going to stick in a MJ specific 44, but I have to get the truck up and moving so I can go pick it up. It'll be wired in with a pushbutton start for simplicity. Ive got a hidden kill switch already in there. anywho. Pics for the entire project are a must. So be waiting as this will start soon
  10. someone from texas has that done. They're on here somewhere. I think its a white manche with faux woodgrain sides
  11. I'm with you man. Jeeping is all about innovation. Not being a pansyboy stock-hugger. (well unless you have a rare-ish Jeep) Chop the top, dice up some fenders and maybe chop'n'channel the front clip so it fits between the wheels. It'd be pretty kickass.
  12. pretty much shows you that the marked spots that are surrounded by yellow and you can see sme contact isn't enough of contact and you'll thrash your gears.
  13. Word has it it'll be 3 versions. JK style 4door CJ-8 style like seen with full rollbar CJ-8 halfcab style removable cab :D
  14. Nobody ever says this. Maximum Overdrive! On the bridge scene, sitting in the cars that don't get crushed when the bridge lifts, is a 2wd 86. its blue. you can barely see it, but you can tell by the tailgate.
  15. and to finish it off, he's a Quebecer.! woo for canadians, boo for seperatists
  16. find a 76-87 J10 with a 258 and an auto. 4.10's and if its a 80+ it'll be driver drop if its a j-20, you'll have a rear 60 semi float.
  17. I don't believe for a minute that this is going to be street legal at all. looking good so far.
  18. schweet looking rig. 4spd or 3? that 327 looks good. Panama red and MJ20 is right, a good pass-drop wag or j/chero axle will work. Just keep the gear ratios close. One small reminder is that anything 1972 (IIRC) is Post-Mount so its SOA, anything newer is SUA.
  19. pong, screw the football and weights get'I'm a socket set and a BFH. maybe a pair of baby-sized coveralls.
  20. already thinkin bout the SAS. Hehehe. The taco should work for now. Joe, I'm keeping the CJ for a cruiser, not a wheeler. Its an awesome example of a nicely done Jeep. The new MJ will be a wheeler.
  21. new wheeler joined my stable. 1995 Taco SR-5. 5spd, ext cab. red. $800. 3.4 v6 and a 1980 CJ-7 4.2/T-177/D-300. And a new job as a jewelery engraver. Schweet digs, and Ive still got the MJ for sale, have a guy looking to take her as a daily driver. $900. I'm sticking with the Taco for the next little while, the CJ I snagged for $300 but needs some parts put back on it. Taco first, then my old man said I can grab the CJ as a winter project. Should be pretty sweet. Then in the spring I'm trading the Taco to a friend for his 4x4 87mj that we're putting a 4.5L/AX-15/242 into along with its fact D44 rear. Should definately be cool.
  22. Crazy, dude. get a car! Christ, that 2.5L MJ will MAYBE get about 18-22mpg around the city. Trust me, I owned one.
  23. new one's nicer than yours...it needs alot of work. I won't be fixing it for a bit, i think it will just sit and i'll rob parts, fix it, sell it after fixing it, or use tateresalad's parts to make it 4wd and put the plow on it mine doesn't need any work! Rusty pass.side fender on rear, thats it.
  24. abluh!. All I can say is when that Gladiator hits the showrooms, I'm definately taking my dad's offer of a loan for a new car.
  25. lower that new MJ you're getting. or buy mine :brows:
