yep, that answers my questions. Snowing, in shorts, with a cartload of beer, in a No Frills parkinglot beside a large Diesel Dodge.

10"?  I put a set of new regulation 5-leaf Metric Ton springs on mine, 1500# load capacity, and gained 3" only. Whoever built those springs had the arch all wrong. They came in two flavors; two thick leafs and three thin leafs (early), and one thick leaf and four thin leafs (1990+). Or did you go SOA when you installed your new springs? he went soa

That thing is no newer than 1979. Its got a Pignose grille. Last used in 1979. Specs can range from 360 2v/TH400/BW 13-39 3602v/ T-176 OR T-18a/ Dana20 Transfer. 258 /T15/D20 401/TH400/BW 13-39 (Otherwise known as a Quadratrac) 258/T-176/D20 It will have pass drop D-44 up front with a max gear ratio of 4.10 if you're lucky. More than likely its a 360/TH400 so it'll have 3.31's. 3.73 if its got a Tow pkg. Its a steal, pick'er up. If its got a Z code VIN, its a 401 rig. Search IFSJA for more on 401's haha.

mine was on 205's and it got out of its way, and then some. Peppy little buggar.

t'was fun trying to go down Highway 7 today. bigrigs passing snowplows with 3" of snow blowing around the road. I'm sitting in my tin-can praying that when I get whacked I sail into a field and not get wedged under a trailer. got home alright. 3 hours to go 85km. If I had've had my XJ, I could've taken the less-used county roads and made it home in the usual time.

yep I'm in Northbrook acctually, near Bon Echo Park. We've got some decent fluff on the ground now. Good snowball stuff.
-
Its kickin' arse outside. Freezing Rain, forecasted half-foot to 3/4 foot of snow, roads are slicker than a greasy dog. Ill get some pics in a few minutes, batteries are still charging.

yeah, check that WP remans are cheap, if that fixes it, then go get a new one and keep it handy.

whats the deal with the FSJ wag? -
dude you just scored bigtime! An I mean bigtime! Its not a QT truck. a QT truck has a BW 13-39 case, fulltime with optional lo/hi. 1974 was the first year for QT. 1979 was the last year for them. Any wag after that got a 'Quadra-trac' NP 219/229 case. Full-time, limited slip viscous coupler. A Dana20 is a Part time case, AFAIK the shifter is on the pass side of the trans hump. Fully geared. Awesome case. Front axle is a D-44, you possibly have closed knuckles. Should also have a D-60 rear, full floaty. You've got a helluva rig in its own. The 360 with a Turbo-400 coupled to a D-20 and some good axles makes this truck a great hauler. Check out IFSJA again, good stuff on there.

The Jeep JT concept......a new truck on the horizon?
Kenosha Warrior replied to ComancheKid45's topic in The Pub
I work at a light manufacturer. We ust got the new Chryco stuff for our Jeep line. Pics and all. Lets just say you aren't too far off the mark with a cummins gladiator style, but the package we got shows some neat stuff. Its all security though, so no pics and forget I ever told you :brows: Told us what Colton? 8) I know how that stuff goes, I could tell you things GM doesn't want anyone to know after working at the dealership in sales. We would get briefed on all the new stuff and everything, what we could say if a customer walked in and asked about the rumors. Same thing when I was at the Jeep dealer, but thats all old news now, like the Libby and all that jazz. I have heard rumors of the JKs maybe getting the dodge 4.0 and maybe the Cummins. Since I guess most are not impressed with the 3500lbs towing limit. And if the JKs got the Cummins and a Jeep Truck came out, I would be hard pressed to be able to pick between a 4dr JK or the truck. Alex Lets just say light pickup with 4cyl diesel Cummy. 6spd and Solid Axles. Available extra cab and such. Based off the Dakota platform with the newer libby front end styling. There is more to the book but its all blacked out so we can't see it :( Here's my theory. The new fad is swapping in light diesels into smaller rigs. Chryco could and verywell may be a few steps ahead of the rest. A diesel suv? Who else has them 'cept Mercedes. You've got diesel Grands, Diesel Libbys. They already have a design for the Dakota, to much $$ to r'n'd a new design to fit a diesel, why not take a jump and plant out another Jeep rig. Base it majorly off the Dakota but market it as a light diesel pickup. Ford doesn't have a diesel Ranger. Chev has these little weirdo Colorados. Bring out a 'brand new' vehicle. Diesel with optional v6. Bigger tow rating. available extra cab. auto and stick trannies. Solid axles. This is looking more toward making something the original Jeep was. What they want the new J-bingo nuts whatever to become. A barebones truck for people who don't have 30k to spend on a tough rig that can run errands to the co-op, haul farm equipment, be driven through worksites. A real truck. -

FAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWKKKKKKKK a local collector bought them. $3000 worth of mj taillights are now part of his odd, elaborate vehicle/parts collection.
-
no pics unfortunately. High security place. We hold the new headlight desings for the new GM's... they look like an alien cornhole to be blunt I'm in for a litle bit today. Ill see what the Prod. Manager says.
-
Eagle, the 4th bin had XJ/MJ corner reflectors and turn signals, they were the scratched product scraps. Most are still in better shape than ones on our rigs now. Ill aim for all 4. I can possibly swing a deal. Will check tomorrow

So you want to hear some real bullzhit? (vent about work...)
Kenosha Warrior replied to rockhardzj's topic in The Pub
I just started at an autoparts manufacturer. I work with 30 year olds who act like they are 5. -
I started at Decoma-Autosystems. They make taillights and modular headlights for the big 3, plus Harley Davidson, Mack truck and Aston Martin . Today I was digging through stock looking for a misplaced crate when I found a bin marked Chryco/Amc- Jeep. (We make Jeepstuff too) Inside 3 of these same marked, dusty as hell bins are 400 Comanche taillights with inspection stickers dated 1988-1989 I inquired about them. Since its a discontinued model, they are now ours to sell/crush for plastic pellet credit. I'm going to make an offer for one of the bins and liquidate them cheap here. $50/set incl shipping in US/Can?

4bangers are open. In mine it had a rad with a cap, a nice little coolant overflow bottle that had a lid.
