  1. Just was looking for this yesterday ... The lights are Euramtec, some on Ebay now, $16 each, slightly different in switching and operation, but claimed to be the cat's a__ otherwise. For a while they were offering something to CC members, forget what. Free shipping or discount or something. If they are not broken the lenses will polish out. More likely bulbs are dim, either dust inside or bad ground. 2nd edit Flint 54 was thinning his taillight collection a little while back.
  2. Seems like valid advice to me, Jim. Obviously the editor isn't a car guy.
  3. Nah, Jim, that's just curb service.
  4. Chrome rear bumper ... don't let Hornbrod near it ...
  5. Sheet metal is worth that. Forget the mechanicals. But I am too far away ...
  6. I don't think that is crazy money, it has the bumper, winch, lift, tires/wheels, etc. Is the paint dead or is that frost? What would concern me is the "recent work". For what reason and how well was it done? And it is that funny Canadian money ... Would be close to that here too.
  7. Stolen truck alert! JK That is a very nice looking truck, even more remarkable for the part of the country you are in. My Florida since new '90 doesn't look that good. Great options, nice interior, looks to be a really nice truck. You will like, they are addictive. I would like to pick up every one I see that are being parted out, since parts are so hard to find around here.
  8. Steve, mine is at the PO, just awaitin for me to come get it. That is very fast service, now I just got to get there! Thanks!
  9. Sold new in Pueblo. Dealer installed a/c. Why can't something like this find me? BOO HOO, I'm going out to the garden and eat fuzzy worms ... Nice, Jim!
  10. I would like to buy one like that for 1K, but I think it is worth the 2k. I paid 1200 for my short 4wd, but have to do quite a bit of work to it, and that isn't even considering the body work it needs. 4wd, auto, decent shape? Plus metric ton, so it has a 44? Already has small lift? Got to be worth 2k.
  11. Really? I figured they would be cheaper there and mostly 4wd. Theres lots of them here, but many are 2wd. Nice 4wd '97 up ones can be found for $3k on up, most have over 150 thou. Prices have gone up on these things I have noticed. Maybe people are replacing worn out ones...
  12. That is a VERY nice looking MJ! Congrats! It sounds like a great trip is coming!
  13. I bought my pump/sender on ebay also, can't remember for sure the brand, think it was airtex. Everything as a unit, think it was around $75? Airtex doesn't seem to get any love around here, but I wanted to get things moving again, and so far have no problems. Of course it has only been a couple thousand miles. Starting is typical, pump is quiet, who knows, miles will tell. The pump/sender was for a same year XJ, btw.
  14. Doing it that way, it will take the rest of your life, it will only take off miles as fast as they went on, a drill won't spin very fast. Face it, even at 100 mph, it will take a while to unroll 100k. It isn't very hard to do, to reset one of the mechanical ones, the newer ones are beyond me. Take a little time, pay attention to the "legs" that align the numbers, once the "number roll" whatever the official name is, is out just hold things in place, turn the digits to where you want. I did it on mine, set the replacement speedo to the same as my original, probably took maybe an hour, or less. Just pay attention how it rests in there!
  15. Might have been me. On my '90 MJ when I bought it the tank had been patched with JB Weld, and the sock on the pump was clogged, wouldn't run for long without dieing out. Tank had a lot of rust/junk/sand in it. AND it turned out that the sender/pump had been swapped with a XJ unit, explaining why things didn't seem to go back together right. What I finally did was get a new tank that didn't have the baffle/reservoir/cup whatever in the bottom. And got a new sender/pump assy for a XJ. All went together fine, and has been working fine since the install. I have run mine down to where I had to put 16 or a little more gallons in to fill it, and it didn't starve out or have any problems, but most of the time I try to not run it to less than 1/4 tank, mainly because these in tank pumps rely on the gasoline to cool/lube? them, and running them out is generally regarded as being bad for the pump. I am not sure how much gas would be left in that little resevoir if the tank were empty and on a mountainside anyways. One thing though, I am not sure if I would get a tank for carbed MJ, not sure about the vent line fittings? I think when I got mine (ebay) it was a listing for my year without baffle? Bought the cheapest one that fit the description, can't remember manufacturer or seller, maybe could search ... seriously tho, I can't believe there is many companies making a tank for these. Hope this helps. Oh, and go to your mopar or Jeep dealer and get the two rubber plug things for the vent lines, my Dodge dealer had them in stock, the Jeep dealer had one, and wanted about $1.25 each more for them...go figger, he was closer.
  16. I know, and if I wasn't so dumb about this interweb thingy I would, well that and some of it is already installed.
  17. For a pair of mj tailgates. When I finally got to the sellers place, not only were the gates (1 pretty much perfect, the other very good but with a large dent in the outside, not sprung, and repairable, both with all hardware) both major steps better than the only one I have found so far, just wrong color. better than he described, when I asked if he had any other mj stuff, after a little thought, said yes. I ended up with all he had, some of the nicest cleanest, mj interior parts I have ever seen, '89 Pioneer door panels, all the cab plastics, carpeted rear panel, tach dash, arm rests, manual remote outside mirrors, I'm sure I forgot something. Oh, and a pair of tail lights. Pretty darn nice ones, will polish up nicely. Cluster only had 94K miles on it. It almost made me ill when he said the only reason he parted it out was he had no title, and that he sold it for scrap metal, but kept the interior because it seemed too nice to scrap. Says he know where there are 6 or 7 more... I have saved his #. All told, it cost me $200, including a tank of gas to round trip. Did I mention how nice the parts were? The interior stuff is really much too nice to put in my '90, but I'm gonna. Also, the lower dash panel with the UNUSED ashtray, and glove box lid and lower storage surround. I was so pumped! I have already used the wiper delay to fix my wipers, and replaced my drilled and broken lower dash. Oh yeah, a fixed left vent window assy, with a perfect and soft glass run channel, and door glass, and window channel rubber, probably will think of something else... SCORE! And, he was happy with selling it. Sure wish he still had the truck tho. And a left side window lift mech! And a pair of outside vent covers!
  18. Wow, that is a stout trailer fender! If this is your first mj, beware. They are addictive. I SHOULD sell mine (economic reasons) but so far have resisted all temptations.
  19. If I am not too late on this, I would like one also...'90 MJ, darkest gray color. Just now found this post. LMK, I have paypal. Thanks BTW, no sunroof.
  20. Not so, Jim! I for one like to see your posts pop up, especially when you have pics of your fleet and the countryside around you. Sooo much sky! You have so many MJs there is always something pertinent. It is a part of the country I have never been to (hardly been west of the Mississippi) and always wanted to get to. I have no desire to go to any other countries as a tourist, there is so much in this one I have never seen, and want to. My dad was stationed in Colorado during WWII, they stayed in Colorado Springs, my mother said if there was any place other than Vermont (where she lived all her life) that she wanted to live, it would be Colorado. No complaints here, Jim!
  21. 4.0 engine, right side,(passenger),upper hose position left side, (driver), lower hose. Filler neck, if you have it, will be left side. Make sure you are looking at one for a 4.0, and not a 2.5 (4 cylinder) as the ads are sometimes ambiguous. (how's that?) About 12-13" tall and 36" wide, at the outer edges of the tanks. Most replacement radiators now have the bung for the fan temp switch, but you should make sure. FWIW, on my v8 powered XJ I replaced my original, with plastic tanks with a split at the temp switch location, with an all aluminum 2 row radiator, after Hornbrod told me it would cool fine, and with no other changes I dropped my running temp by 10-15 degrees, and with MUCH less fan run time. As in, an extreme amount less. My MJ is still running the radiator that was in it when it came to me, but when the time comes for a replacement ... And the picture thing is beyond me, too.
  22. AND the horse...
  23. My MJ rear sounds like it is grinding rocks. I am still driving it, but don't dare go far. Dana 35, 44 or modded 8.25 works for me, but want a quiet one. And a track lock, suregrip, or whatever you choose to call it would be great, mine isn't. I am not a rock hopper or a mud dauber, and not running huge tires, so not afraid of a 35. One has held up to a LT1 in my xj for the last 5 years for me, soooo... Oh, and my research looks to me like '72 to '84 Dodge pu will be about 3" wider, if you have one of those, I could get interested, I have saddles, would need to figure the angle of the dangle and find a good welder. Thanks!
  24. If I hadn't fell into a nice one , that price would not scare me...other than the one I just found, I haven't even seen one around me! A hundred for a nice one, sounds reasonable. I am not sure where all these cheap MJ parts and prime parts are, but they aren't in Fla!
  25. I got a shiny black Sunbeam toaster..., the old one for whatever reason, the other morning went kablooewy, blew the breaker. I am a happy camper again.
