The CL rampage will be for parts - It's a T1 5 spd wi supposed good engine/tranny - Turbo has probs - eng/trans out & in bed - That's all owner knows - says he took it in trade & wants it gone - impressions after talking to him: he wants it gone; 4 sure - All he knows; maybe - - other'n hood/front end/tail lights it's pretty much junk - - Looking like my t1 has a bad #2 cylinder - busted ring r piston - so cheap parts perhaps - - - - - - - - - - - Main concern with the SC is air condish - both rampages have working AC & I wanna keep 'em that way - Think it'll bolt on ok but not 100% sure - been reading/searching a bunch - - Thanks & any other opinions/suggestions are appreciated - - . :MJ 1: .

Considered the T2, but the T1 is working OK & my wrenching days are pretty much over - However, the engine has probs with #2 cylinder - Dunno if head, rings or what but somethings gonna be done to fix it - Found this on CL - Only a few miles from me & have talked to the guy - - - http://stlouis.craigslist.org/search/sss?sort=date&query=dodge%20rampage & then this popped up on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shelby-Dodge-supercharger-blower-B-M-direct-connection-charger-omni-rampage-/181511032146?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a42e68d52&vxp=mtr Any thoughts on the supercharger?

INCOMMANDO " I spent about 100 miles in a 1956 Dodge Custom Royal Sedan yesterday: 315 V8, push button automatic, power windows and brakes, loaded. 56,000 original miles. Smiled all day." Bet you made some others smile also - - Did you catch the '56 Imperial ? - - 302 or thereabouts on the vid counter - - Any pics of the Dodge? Yeah, the 50's cars were a mixed bag - Looking back that is - You can compare 'em to modern, but why? They were it back then - The new models unveiling event every September was right up there with the world series & the Kaiser's birthday - - - waxing - scrubbing wide white walls - points & dual points - 10-15K onna set of tires was good & all kinds other stuff - But that's the way it was - Nothing better commonly available - About all you had to go on was the new issue of Popular Mechanics & their insight of things to come - - - There is ONE thing about the cars back then that will/can never be beat - matched by some like a minivan for inst but never surpassed - - Those big back seats - - Drive Ins - Lovers Lanes - The Fat Man had it right about Blueberry Hill - - I did get some inna Triumph Spitfire once - but that wasn't the 50's - Couple a weeks ago - No? Would you believe Years? Decades? Oh well, It did happen - Just another seems like yesterday & youngsters don't scoff - It gets there for us all. . :MJ 1: .

ANOTHER coolant thread... boiling
danbyrambler replied to toid's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Your new T Stat should look like # 10 in Cruiser's Tech Pics - They're pinned in DIY - - http://www.cherokeeforum.com/members/cruiser54-42565/albums/jeep-technical-photos/102263-thermostats-2/?gnr_tab=0&ref=gnr-prev The thing at 12 O'clock's called a jiggle valve - Helps air escape the system - Should be installed that orientation/as pictured - A hole that size can be made in your's if it doesn't have one. Boiling coolant in an engine with air trapped inna head or too low system pressure will make a peculiar sound when shut off - Don't know exactly how to describe it - a popping/cracking/banging/tapping noise kinda - Lasts for a min or so usually - You'll know it if/when you hear it -
SpectraPremium CU1193 - - $77 total - - eBay from Pep Boys - Summit will price match - - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spectra-Premium-Radiator-/161372823912?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item259291e168&vxp=mtr Dunno about running with cap loose - - 4 or 7lb cap would be better'n loose - - - - - 4#'s a good tool - - I've used a 4lb for years on coolant//radiator replacement - Purges air really quick - Turn off engine when the bubbles stop - cool down doesn't take long to safely swap wi 16lb or whatever spec'd & your done.

Been an Amazon member for years myself - Taken advantage of their promos - Ordered lotsa stuff & no problems with "as described", damaged or anything - I did run into a few drop shipped items that took awhile to arrive but just a few - No Amazon complaints/nit picks here. CSF vs Spectra? Dunno if Spectra makes all/some of their radiators - I doubt it - I think they're all imports - low cost being the main reason for my opinion - Thinking back over the last 5 r 6 yr I've had no probs with these plastic/alum types & no bad feedback/death threats from the folks I sold to. I live in SE MO & the USPS service in my little part of the world has always been F'd up & double F'd up since my Green Acres type post office was closed - - This is half of why Jegs/Summit are my go 2s - UPS r FedX delivery & fast - Other half is the easy to use price match I use the retailmenot.com site for everything - - Parts, Tools, Pizza, KFC - everything - - Their app, along with GasBuddy, gets lotsa use on my phone As an aside & JIC: Advance sells packaged heater hose in 2ft lengths for less than by the foot price for same 2ft - On the shelf /Normal store item & way less if ordered online for store pickup & a discount code used Good luck -

Whoops - Blew it on the Advance part # & yeah, they do not sell the open sys radiator - - - Sorry & glad you paid attention - - - - - Spectra's been around for a long time, SpectraPremium now, I've had their site bookmarked since the dawn of the net - Used it for dimensions, what'll fit what, upgrade info & such - - Nice reference material - - - http://ecat.spectrapremium.com/ - - - - - A number of outfits are selling the Spectra brand # CU1193 inna $80 range - - Summit also sells it online/eBay for way more, but they have no problem matching others online prices & they do have lightning fast shipping - - Pep boys, Rock & o'riley list it also, but I'm not familiar with those guys price match - - - I only use Jegs & summit for PM - - Jegs you can do online but I didn't see a Jegs eBay listing for SP CU1193 - - Gotta call & talk to a rep at summit - easy enuff - both have super fast FedEx & UPS delivery -

I've run into the problem with not in stock at my local store & have found 2 ways around it - - They can get whatever from another store/warehouse & as soon as it hits their inv the online works - Inv update happens at departure from sending location - If has to be ordered from mfg/supplier then do it, return it when arrives & it's on their inv & again, online works - - I've done both ways at their suggestion/blessing - I used my cell on the order return thing while still in the store - Great if not inna hurry - - - The total sales tax here in MO is 10% +- a little depending upon community - However, if there is no store in your MO zip then no tax - works great for my GreenAcres type rural area & the route I always take for anything qualifying for free S&H. -
Might want to ck the iPhone clones - - I prefer android but that's just me - - The Mrs has a Galaxy S5 clone & loves it (Unlocked goophone S5 android - Runs on Straight Talks AT&T service ) - I've had a ZTE N9810 - for a little over a year - Unlocked & rooted - Runs on Sprint's network - Kinda took a flyer on it - Couldn't resist the cheap price back when it was relatively new - Glad I got it - - Anyway, both phones & similar clones are all over eBay for cheap - Starting around $70 if you don't mind the shipping wait for Hong Kong to you - Dropped shipped from NY, LA & such runs around $125-150 best deal for those with a decent camera (8-13 MP) - - - - - - - Anybody can nit pick the features of any of these knock offs compared to the originals, but so what - - Just sayin' might want to look into.

Well . . . . Not such a good deal, IMO - - - 2 things - It's not a 2 row (Read the fine print/description) Just a core thickness of 1.25 inch - - The other is alum core & plastic ends - Not a biggie to me - I've used this type for years with no probs - - - - - - - - Anyway, Advance Auto has the same radiator for 99.99 - PN # 432268 & their discount code TRT41 $40 0ff $100+ will work if you add something cheap like $1.49 D Grease #09980 to the order - Order total of 101.48 now becomes $61.48 plus tax & has the benny of easy to use warranty, God forbid - - If the local AA store doesn't have the rad in stock they'll have to get it 1'st before the online discount for in store pickup will work - If no local AA store the order total will have to be $125 minimum for free home ship & the $40 off - - Easy enuff to do by adding upper & lower rad hoses for instance - (#s D71321 E71320) - $126.46 total would become $86.46 plus tax- still a good deal me thinks - - - For the rest of the stuff, T-stat-H hoses & such, I'd order separately & use code trt30 - 30% off up $50 total discount per order - - - - AdvanceAutoRockPepO'rile discounts/special offers at http://www.retailmenot.com/view/advanceautoparts.com  -
What year XJ? 2 or 4 door? Way easier to swap the cherokee window regulators, DL solenoids & PMs into your MJ - I've done it both ways & would never consider doing a door swap again - How to's been covered here, Naxja, Pirate & others - Wire harness is easy to fab & allows for customization - I ran separate circuit for the locks controlled from DS only for example - Pwr door panels, switch bezels & such are easy enuff to obtain here in Classifieds, eBay, JYs & wherever
