  1. That post said "This is currently the second oldest MJ a member has posted" which is still accurate. The ones in the spreadsheet without CC links came from the Chrysler database courtesy of Eaglescout526, so not posted by CC members as theirs or ones they've found.

    Water heater

I’ve had my tank water heater since 1995 (27 years) I’ve done nothing to it and it still works well. But I’ve been waiting for the day it leaks or stops working for the last 10 years. Now it’s just a challenge.
  3. I would keep it original especially since you are the original owner. Post up in the original owners thread and in the VIN registry https://comancheclub.com/forum/32-1989/
  4. I don’t know, but my guess is July 28, 1994.
  5. I’ve had that question into Cerakote for a couple weeks with no answer. If they don’t respond in a couple more I’ll try it out on a spare set and report back. I’ve used their headlight restorer on headlights and it did a great job (actually looks better in person).
  6. Perfect for your Eliminator
  7. Followed the Cerakote directions, just washed with dish soap to remove any oils and dried thoroughly. The before picture was after washing.
  8. Thanks @Gjeep that’s high praise coming from you. @acfortier I’m leaving them chrome to match my side window trim.
  9. Which material did you use for the sound deadening?
  10. I used Cerakote Trim Coat. I’ve used it on exterior plastic and has held up very well so I expect it to do well on the switches long term. Some before and after pics. p.s. when they say use in a well ventilated area they’re not kidding, DO IT!!! Also make sure the coating is even when you’re done.
  11. 8k, search Craigslist in San Francisco Bay Area California for Honcho.
  12. I think you learned from the beast. And here’s your J truck. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/berkeley-1983-jeep-honcho-j10-4x4/7433907189.html
  13. This was several years ago so from what I recall it was about $100-$120 UPS for the AMC one. It was shipped bare with just the shipping label, it’s just under the oversize limit, the seller (fellow member) had to show the UPS guy how to measure it correctly, he originally wanted to charge oversize pricing.
  14. Just keep looking one will turn up. I found mine in Ohio and had it shipped to California.

  16. Hold out for OEM. The question is which type do you want, the older AMC style (1st photo) or the later MOPAR style (2nd photo).
  17. I wanted to remove the chipped black coating of my windshield trim so I tried the heating method I found on here but got tired of touching hot metal, so this is what I did. Spray them with gasket remover, have a beer or two, scrape with a plastic scraper or even just paper towels then rinse well. Might have to reapply to stubborn areas. Worked great, no scratching! Then used chrome polish to clean them up.
  18. Please post a picture of it. Thanks.
  19. My 88 Pioneer had those.
  20. The part the filter screws onto had a metric thread pattern for the RENIX years.
  21. Did you repaint the silver “reflector” part since it was chalky? If so what did you use?

    CC cookbook

Our great friends gave us a Blackstone griddle, first attempt at breakfast (second use overall). Still working out temperature regulation.
  23. Old toothbrush and Oil Eater. I save all mine for stuff like this.
