Back in business! Used 1/4” polycarbonate that I had to thin down the perimeter a hair with my router for it to fit the channel. Now good as new, just need the CC bling to finish it off. May have to add a little window tint to darken it a bit more, their “solar gray” was lighter than I expected.

Replacement closed system radiator?
fiatslug87 replied to robfg67's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have a CSF from Rockauto, perfect fit and no problems. However, the price has gone up considerably since I purchased mine several years ago. -
I think Summit and Jegs also sell the Precision products, at least they used to.

Max tire size without lift
fiatslug87 replied to socal1200r's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
They are slightly smaller than 235/75R15 (28.4” vs. 28.8”) so should fit as long as the wheels don’t have some weird backspacing (I’m not familiar with those wheels). -

I have to agree, but my wife and her Cricut will take care of that. -
Rear Window Replacement
fiatslug87 replied to Manche757's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The rubber part does not do any actual sealing the urethane does. It just fills in the gap. I’ve removed mine and reused it after painting, just be very careful when removing it, go slow and don’t pull too hard, be very deliberate. Watch out for the corners that’s where they usually tear. -
Got the ‘90 smogged and put back on operational status after three years! Passed with flying colors.

It was really cool looking, for a while I was thinking of pouring epoxy over it but epoxy yellows over time in sunlight.

Epic fail! Trying to fix the lift gate hinge, I guess one too many taps to dislodge a rivet remnant. I’ll be heading to Tap Plastics on Monday for a piece of smoked polycarbonate. On the bright side, it made fixing the hinge a lot easier. @Pete M, you got any large CC window decals? PM me, thanks.

Rescreened the shell windows and added screen to the front slider. Used heavy weight pet screen, now it should be 99.9% insect proof! Before: After:

@75sv1 which hidden winch mount do you prefer? Any pros and cons between the two? Thanks -
I’m going to miss seeing this in G’s garage.

Outing #2 at Wench Creek campground in the Eldorado National Forest. Had a bear come through the first night and attack a cooler of someone in our group that was right behind the WilderNest. We got out to look and saw a good size black bear, it glanced back at us and strolled off. Some don’t take bear safety seriously even when bear boxes are provided. Yes, I need new struts for the lift gate.
