  1. Well there's no turning back now! If I installed the lockers incorrectly..its too late. I tried them out, and they both work perfectly. Before the lockers, I couldnt get on that rock...now its a piece of cake! :D Oh, and now I have a 5.2L ZJ tie-rod up front. MUCH beefier.
  2. Already done that! I got a tie rod off of a 5.2L ZJ.
  3. I have a dakota line in the rear. I'm at 6.5" and have PLENTY of line left for droop/flex. :D
  4. Well I am now locked front and rear. I'll get some pics of the almost completed paint job. :brows:
  5. ^^ that works great. It is SO easy to get the arms in using a jack and a pipe wrench.
  6. I only have a few pics.. We went to Carnage. Run was pretty good. I bent a tie-rod and my spare was FUBAR'd, so I had to leave the truck over night. I went up the next morning with another tie-rod. The trail is less than 25 miles from my house, so it wasnt too bad.

    Lots of sevens!
  8. Lockers will be here Tuesday. In a junkyard, I found an MJ with a sunrrof, and a bed liner. I took both. My paint job is almost done. I just have to do part of the roof, and the part dirrectly below the windshield.
  9. a front hitch is best because it spreads the load over 2 mounts, and you are pulling from the middle, not just one side. I have hooks, for the simple reason that it was cheaper to get hooks. For hooks, i recomend the C4x4 hooks from jeepinoutfitters.com. for the rear, i made a bumper with a hitch reciever built in. MY MJ does have a hook in the back, and it attaches to the frame rail, but its rusty and unsafe to use. i can get a quick pic for you to see what i mean.
  10. weird shaped hole...thats all i can say.
  11. I took my air box out, and put a box wrench over hte nut. I had to use a pipe wrench on the shock to hold it in place because the nut was rusty, and I couldnt hold it in my hand. The passanger side is so much easier. 8)
  12. Well I ordered Aussie lockers for the front and rear today. I also began a new paint job. here's a few shots of the new paint...
  13. Mitch has a maroon interior. Its comfy. I don't mind the color.
  14. Its not an MJ...but its pretty cool. 1949 CJ-2A. Quite the undertaking I know. It needs a new tub, and fenders...those are shot. The frame appears to be in pretty good shape, and the engine supposedly runs. Now I have quite the battle ahead of me to get a title. But the guy I got it from is an ex-state trooper, so hopefully he will have "connections." Did I mention it was free ;D
  15. DirtyComanche has front leaves, and 88swampedmj is doing it now.
  16. Its actually "tonight" Good to see that education is paying off :D ;)

    The Fleet

    I have two! :D
  18. MIG stands for Metal Inert Gas. MIG welding is when you use a shielding gas that consists of a combination of argon and CO2. When using flux core wire, you are using a wire feed welder.
  19. Skinnys rule!!!!!!!
  20. Once I get paid...this is the plan!!! Thanks! 8)
  21. I did my bumper and skid plate on a Lincoln 220 stick welder. Once you get it down, its easy. I've made some welds that were mistaken for MIG welds. It is possible. I'd get stick, just because there aren't really any mechanical parts to break on it. When you go through a stick, you put another one in. You can get 110v stick welders. Maybe one of them would be good for sheet metal?
  22. The dimension that you specified was about 29.5" for me, on a LWB roll bar.
  23. I have one (LWB). I'm on my lunch break now, and can get you the measurement later doay.
