  1. Good luck. Drop in a pick when you get the new ones in!
  2. For what its worth, I have replace 3 of my 6 injectors and all the o-rings to stop visible fuel leaks. If it runs any differently with 3 new and 3 old I can't tell.
  3. Worth a try . Hopefully one of the plans does the trick!
  4. I have done similar fixes with hot glue, put the screw in before it hardens and you have a threaded hole. Just another possibility.
  5. I'd buy one (are any Jeep influencers listening ....)
  6. Lucky for me, and my checkbook, I am perfectly happy driving around in my 90 MJ I drove off the lot new in 1990. But if I do want to drive something newer, I take my other vehicle, 1994 car purchased used in 96, out for a spin..
  7. I see your point! I concede a tiny bed can have uses for a small percentages of the users, enter the El Camino!
  8. I think there are a few gorillas in the Dallas Zoo and that's not too far away, might get some help. Picked up the Fel-Pro Kit, hope to try it sometime soon.
  9. Spotted this Honcho today. Across a 5 lane street so I couldn't get close up, but looks pretty good from this distance.
  10. Great work @hgeranium! Glad you got it! I am not familiar with the two wrench trick, maybe I'll google that one if I can't get it loose with what I have. I do have a breaker bar, and a neighbor with a bigger breaker bar and I'm hoping that gets it. The pics you included are nice additions to the thread. FWIW replacing the VC gasket was not bad either. Will take a bit longer than this but fairly straight forward. I used the Fel-Pro gasket. The problem I had with that job was the plastic hoses that come out of the top, the smaller one that comes from the back ended up breaking as I was trying to remove it, and the larger one in the front was already cracked so I ended up replacing both to finish the job. Getting the larger new one in at the VC was pretty tight but with enough persuasion it went in. Just to summarize, your plan was to use Fel-Pro 70301 for the large one, and the other two from the kit you got from Amazon correct, was that how it played out?
  11. Glad to hear a vote for the Fel-Pro kit. I'll probably start with that. Took this pic today, I decided to take a look and a pic of the before. This is before, but after I cleaned the area and have put maybe 5 miles on the truck. First step in any of these jobs is cleaning, step 2 is usually figure how what tools are needed. As the pic shows mine is indeed the non-torx variety. [@watchamakalit, was yours this bolt style as well?] FWIW it appears that the leak or at least the notable one is the surface touching the engine, the others don't look wet yet. I'll still replace all the rings, but from the picture just replacing the big one might actually stop the leak. In my tool prep, I find: 5/8 fits about the same as 16mm. The bolt head looks perfectly find, not rounded off or anything (not yet at least) Neither fits as good as I would like if this is one of the extremely tight ones. The next typical size down from 5/8 {ie 10/16} is 9/16, that's too small. The next typical size down from 16mm is 15mm, that's too small. I kinda doubt this is a 19/32 or a 15.5mm
  12. For what it's worth, well about $25, this kit on ebay has at least one review noting a perfect fit if your attaching bolt is not the torx version. I believe mine is not the torx version. If the other resources fail, I'll give this a shot. I have some luxury to leave the jeep disabled if needed for a short time since I have a second vehicle. Saw lots of this same part number for a little less.
  13. Yep! By the time we are done, we should have a pretty good 2025 reference
  14. I ordered the Felpro kit cause I am on first name basis with my local Napa, and it was in stock. But when I go to pick up later today I am taking Cruisers list with me to ask if they can match them up. The Mahle was not listed at Napa, and was only listed as special order at O'Reilly so not ordering that at the moment. I am also going to email the local Jeep dealer with the Mopar numbers and see what they say.
  15. A little more digging.. I am not sure how to do apples-to-apples here, but assuming cruiser's infor is accurate and it probably is, it doesn't really look like either of these kits that claim to be correct are actually correct. At least not exactly correct. I have no idea how much play is allowed in these sizes for a fit that seals and wears correctly. And of course I am assuming here my web search was accurate for the comparison.
  16. Thanks, and looking forward to here how it goes!
  17. I can't really say if there is any spraying happening, but the oil accumulation was immediate at idle, it would not be a stretch to think it could spray some as the pressure increases (or tries to). After I get the seals in I'll try to clean up as much as I can to see where it comes back. The location of the OFA, and the obvious leak, clearly could be spreading all over anything below it. I'll be sure to post back how it goes. It could be a week or 2 though, I have what is supposed to be a "routine" outpatient surgery in a couple days so I'll probably give it a few days after that before working on anything. I am sure this will help significantly, but will it stop all the leaks is TBD.
  18. I just did a gunk cleaning all around the filter adapter, and as soon as I started up it was wet with oil again. So clearly the is a big contributor to my leaks. I already replaced the valve cover gasket a few months ago. I also bought the oil pan and RM Seal gasket, but I am a bit concerned that I have the skill to do the RMS. Seems risky for a first timer to get the old seam worked out and the new one in cleanly. But will definitely tackle the Oil filter assy soon. Oh for the oil in the filter, I poke a hole in the top of the filter when I am changing it with the theory that releasing the vacuum will let more of the oil drain out. Never attempted to prove this works, but I do it anyway..
  19. I guess I'll get it and find out! I'll post back what I actually get and if it all fits. It does say it is guaranteed to fit so if it doesn't, pretty sure I can return it, I am on first name basis with the local NAPA crew!
  20. No problem, 3 is far superior to 0! I am a little confused, the Napa online catalog show this as being 5 gaskets? Sounds like you believe this items is only 1 gasket not 5? Am I missing something?
  21. Here's a kit at Napa that says it is guaranteed to fit. Anyone used it? https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/FPGES72962
  22. Most of the time I check with the dealer, and tell them it's a 1990, they just tell me their database no longer goes back that far. Can you post the OEM Mopar kit part number and where one can get it these days? 1990 4.0 Renix btw, just in case..
  23. I'll give that a shot! Thanks.
