  1. I saw one batter tray T-bolt last night. There is another one around if my 2 year old hasn't carried it off. I recently bought a battery top bracket on Amazon. Are you looking for these parts or letting us know you have them?
  2. Sounds similar to an issue we had. This was our temporary solution. Haven't gotten back to a more permanent solution.
  3. Ah, so like an early version of the the little black globe in my 94 and 95 Cherokee Sports. I assume this isn't needed to make the sun visors work and that the bracket in the ceiling of the MJ is spaced the same?
  4. Found a guy parting out an '89 Laredo Cherokee. I asked him for sun visors and in the photos he sent I noticed this console between the sun visors. He said it was in this condition when he got it. What is supposed to attach to it? A clock? Reading lights? Is this something worth picking up for the MJ and can it be repaired?
  5. We picked up a push bar a month or so ago and decided to do something fun and put it on this weekend. Looks similar to the one @oleskool installed, but without the bars around the headlights. Clearly the push bar is specific to XJ/MJ because it hugs the bumper and grille. Now we need to install some fog lights! Before: On the bumper: After (almost done anyway):
  6. Not the tire expert here, but some empirical data. A while back I put LT tires on my stock 95 XJ and the tires lasted for 80K miles. They were sun rotting before they finally wore out. When they finally were getting sketchy for driving in snow I went back to the tire store, told the guy at the desk they ran for 80K and said I wanted another set. He couldn't believe that I had gotten 80K and had to come look for himself. On my second set of those. Lately I've been buying used LT tires on the other two Jeeps (because new tires cost more than the value of the vehicle) and have been having good luck with those.
  7. "Jared L" (the "J" in JZLA) inspired this article after we saw this in AZ this summer. https://www.theautopian.com/someone-combined-a-ford-excursion-with-a-volkswagen-new-beetle-and-made-this-v10-powered-monster/
  8. Fender liners are amply available on Amazon too. https://www.amazon.com/Titanium-1984-1996-Cherokee-1984-1990-1986-1992/dp/B076C4TJ1J/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=jeep+cherokee+fender+liner&qid=1690261016&sprefix=jeep+cherokee+fender+lin%2Caps%2C188&sr=1-6&vehicle=1995-42-347-141--30-8-8-3330-242-8--19-14-1&vehicleName=1995+Jeep+Cherokee We passed up a decent factory rear bumper because we couldn't track down the end caps.
  9. When I called to insure the Comanche the first time the insurance company asked me if I was planning to use it to plow snow. I thought that an odd and random question, until now...
  10. Yes, we flushed it a few months ago and it's definitely burped. It never overheated before or since driving around town, it just needs a little more help offroading, when we're climbing gnarly grades with not a lot of air coming through the radiator. Although i am impressed that it runs at 150, all three of our jeeps like to run about 190, which makes sense since the stock thermostat is a 190.
  11. On our last wheeling trip, the Comanche was having overheating issues. Nothing that couldn't be remedied by slowing down and giving it occasional breaks, but definitely annoying. It's an '89 Renix with just a mechanical clutch fan. The '94 and '95 High Output XJs never ever overheat, and they have an electric fan along with the mechanical fan. So I'm looking to add an electric fan to the Comanche. I have an electric fan from a '98 XJ, just need to install and wire it. Does the Renix hardware include any fan wiring like the High Output does, or is my best bet just to add an aftermarket electric fan switch and relay? I'd just hate to wire in a bunch of aftermarket stuff and then find out that the stock ECU supports an electric fan.
  12. Where in Idaho? I happen to know some people in Idaho (us) that will be traveling to AZ in a month if you happened to want that one to come your way...
  13. Boise Jalopy Jungle on State Street. We may go pull it. Can't let an AX-15 get crushed. We previously retrieved the AX-15 and transfer case that is in our Comanche at the Nampa Jalopy Jungle.
  14. Son was at a junk yard yesterday and said there was a Cherokee with an AX-15 and transfer case. We have them in all of our XJs and MJ so don't need another.

    J10 for $1K?

The J10 followed us home last weekend. Purchase price ended up being $650. Now we have another project...

    J10 for $1K?

The bed certainly has some rust issues. Otherwise it doesn't look too bad. Obviously it used to be red.

    J10 for $1K?

We are ending up with too many of those. The Comanche, a Cherokee, might as well add in a J10 right?!?

    J10 for $1K?

Little more info from my son: "[Owner] said it ran in the last month or two but the carb kept clogging up cuz the tank is rusty. Interior isn't bad. It's a straight 6 4spd 4wd [Owner] said he thought [the fuel tank] was bad enough to replace" So potentially tracking down a replacement tank or repurposing one from elsewhere sounds like it would be the first order of business. Neither sound easy, but not impossible.

    J10 for $1K?

The teenage boys of the family came across this J10 and the owner says he will sell it for $1,000. Has the straight 6 engine. Doesn't run, but ran when it was parked. Worth taking the risk?
  20. Nice! They are getting hard to come by
  21. I can be interested... Contact me.
  22. I thought I had a picture, but can't find it. We replaced the CPS in December. I had purchased a cheap one on Amazon, and it worked, but only after some modification. The holes on the CPS didn't line up with the holes in the bell. Fixed that with some cutting and grinding to make slots on each end. Then the pins of the plug on the new CPS were mangled so cut it off and spliced in the old plug. But after that it worked fine...
  23. That helps a lot. Below is a picture from our Comanche. Looks like the jack attaches to these white hooks using two D rings and an elastic of sorts? Will need to fabricate a bracket for the rod, but I can see where the wing nut threads in.
  24. It's been a while, but to follow up on a couple of these topics and one follow up question. Purchased the 4 wheels for $100. Found a 5th at a junk yard. Got good tires mounted on the wheels. Haven't installed on MJ yet, might end up on one of our XJs instead. Purchased an installed a dark blue dash mat (Coverking on Amazon) and installed it. Improves the appearance of the interior immensely. Purchased a jack from ebay. Must be from a later model XJ because it's different than the "old" XJ jack we were expecting, but works the same. We don't have any hardware for mounting it in the Comanche. How is it supposed to attach behind the bench? A photo will be helpful if anyone has one handy. Badges - purchased the 3M 2 side adhesive, but haven't cleaned off the badges and vehicle to reattach yet.
  25. Thanks everyone! Got the chance to play with these a little and got them to light up. Need to keep playing with them though. Not sure if the door switches are any good also. But this has helped a lot!
