well ive been messing around with it for about a week just to get it running again. finally yesterday i figured out the iginition problem and drove it for the first time in 9 years! man it was awesome putting around in this thing. 1972 beetle. rusted floorboards, no brakes and a driver with a heavy right foot  ive got new parts on the way as we speak and more to come. sadly after the joy ride it died. it stopped getting fuel and the battery went dead all at the same time but it wouldnt be a project if everything worked

ive brazened several tanks with no issues. filled with water, washed it out several times, struck a lighter at the top of the pump hole for fumes. good to go everytime.

Cracked Door Pin Receiver Thing
SW86 replied to Korsch_RS's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
my driver side door is like that. it was that way when i bought it so i can't tell you how it happened. i welded up a few cracks on mine but not long after more appeared around those welded. of course ive never really looked into the problem of what might be causing it in the first place.. -
after going through just about every type of metal there is these days. Pantera (while still good) just seems to be lacking to me now. however, the live 101 proof is the best album hands down. i mean how can you sound that damn good live!

found this one. about half way down the page. not quite what i was talking about but it should help jog some memories http://comancheclub.com/topic/5784-shock-mounts-for-soa/?hl=shock+mounting&do=findComment&comment=54017

yup thats basicly it but on the manche it was just a straight bar. i swear someone here made it and sold a few years ago. all my searches here turned up nothing it does explain that its for better shock articulation so thats probably why whomever it was made it. thanks

few more to bring back this dead thread Guster http://youtu.be/PZtYa7UhCWc Peter, Bjorn & John

nope not even close. it was a bar that ran from one frame rail to the other and you could mount the shocks one in front and the other behind the axle tubes. I'm guessing to help us spring over guys with axle wrap. i was thinking about making one or even trying to get the guy to make me one lol. its easy as hell but pics speak a thousand words
-
Awhile back a member here was making a bar to mount the rear shocks to. It was mounted using the bump stop spots or so I seem to recall. Does anybody here know what I'm talking about? I know its not a lot to go on but I know some of you do. He might of even sold a few.

Where To Mount A Cb In A Mj
SW86 replied to TheDirtyJeep401's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
i mounted the mic on that little ridge so to speak, right below the five squares. you could always just hook it around the mirror with a bungee cord. -
id wait until you actually have the dog and have been around him to see what he's like. the name will come, don't force it.
-
 every p.o.s. with a dog down here uses that one.. pits usually get it... i hate it with a passion
-
Just thought you'd like to know I'm still laughing at that.. :rotf:

i can agree with this

I am looking at a sample chart while typing this there are 48 different colors I can obtain. What color were you looking for? Steve ah i was more just curious about the options. id probably end up going with tan or something simple. never know though, i might end up trying to go crazy with yellow
-
 i think i might have to buy one. my rig has never looked right without one. are there color options or is it limited on what you have?

got that brake line fixed after a little brain storming. i cut it off at the fitting with my dremel, then slid a 1/4 ratchet in there and done. didnt have to remove anything else. anyway i finally got around to getting my other set of 5165s mmm sexy

From Idiot Lights To Gauges
SW86 replied to AeroNautical's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
i got my temp sensor from rockauto and my oil pressure sensor at autozone. both are easy as hell to swap in. along with the new cluster. -
Quick way around them is a nifty little FM transmitter with a headphone jack. Picked up mine for $15 and it works pretty well. ive got an wireless itrip. id just rather plug a cable in then deal with that little box on my iphone. i always think I'm going to break it off or something.

Well I've never really had to DD my MJ but I wouldnt mind it. The only thing I must have is a radio with an input for my ipod/iphone. Thats it. Which my MJ has an upgraded radio, so Id be happy. However, I'm not giving up my Z71 anytime soon :D
