  1. Did get the REM installed finally. Like I figured, it showed me more issues I need to fix but I expected that 😂. Great little unit and super easy install.
  2. Feeling a little better from being sick this past week and took the truck out for a little cruise to get out of the house. Looks like the sensor on start up read fine. Climbed as expected but it keeps going until it pegs at 246. The gauge reads fine. The fan doesn’t come on etc. I’ve verified temps with very precise instruments I used for BLDC motor tuning for temperatures (one perk of my job). I guess what doesn’t add up is the -40 reading I saw. So I guess the next steps I am taking will be pulling the CTS and replacing it with one I have confirmed correct. At that time I will go back through the wiring and check it again but nothing has shown itself but it doesn’t mean I missed something. Here are a few readings from the cruise around town for reference.
  3. Yep. Been through all this last year. Went through the entire engine bay checking everything you listed on the website and some more suggestions from discussing it with you on this forum. Everything appears to be good. This is the only thing I notice that’s off on the REM. Everything else appears to function correctly. Does that sensor influence fuel mapping in anyway? I was under the impression it did from some reading but it’s still not clear to me. ill. Heck to make sure something isn’t grounding out that circuit again. It’s odd that it read 246 and -40. Seems like a ground out would cause one reading or the other but not both.
  4. So I think I’ve tracked down my random cold start up idling issue. Just installed the REM into my truck. It had been idling for some time and I set it up to view the water temp. It was reading 246 which wasn’t correct but the truck was running great. Today I go to crank it up and it starts running horrible. I notice in the screen that water temp read -46 degrees. That’s pretty much impossible since it was 50 degrees outside. I am assuming an incorrect reading to the ECU will definitely cause my idle issue but any insight is greatly appreciated. On a side note I let the truck rest for a bit and tried it again. The temp was correct this time and fired right up.
  5. Well now that I’ve finally got sometime to work on the truck figured I would clean up the front bumper to match the refreshed rear bumper. As expected every nut clip broke when removing the bumper so I had to spend sometime getting all the hardware out. I couldn’t find M10 but clips locally so I grabbed some M8s from the auto parts store along with some M8 zinc coated flange head bolts. Worked like a charm when putting the bumper back on the frame. I’ll add some upgraded fog lights in the next week but for now here she is. Next project will be the lower window swap!
  6. I kept all the hard to find parts just in case. I have the rear doors too. Using all the parts of the power windows in my current doors. Everything else will go to a good home I hope. Also considering taking the power windows and swapping them.
  7. Power windows here we come. Couldn’t pass up a set of doors off an 87 Cherokee. Now to figure out to dismantle them and swap everything over to my doors.

  10. Finally put all the bits and pieces together (mainly plastic parts for the bumper etc) and found time to throw it on today. While the new to me bumper isn’t perfect I massaged as much of the dents and dings out as I could and said it was good enough. If this was a show truck I would have chopped cut and rewelded several areas on this thing but for my beater it’s definitely a good improvement. Nice to have the hitch finally installed too!

  12. While I’m at it I decided to work on the black plastic trim. This dupli color trim paint works great. Here are the door jam covers. The plastic for the bumpers are next!
  13. Finally got some time to prep the new to me rear bumper and the Reese hitch. Acid etched for rust and a few coats of farm paint should do the trick.

  15. Hey guys, looking for a nice center console for my 89' truck. A plus if it is blue but not a big deal if it is not.
  16. I run them on my 1 ton JK that is pretty much trail use now but I am trying to keep the Comanche looking as stock or as close to stock as possible. I really like the knuckle pods though. Its nice to see where you are going offroad!
  17. Ruffstuff, Rare Parts, etc. The concept is the same. I used Ruff Stuff on another build and I run the Rare Parts pieces now.
  18. I am thinking of welding up the front bumper to accept flush mount fog lights. Something similar to a stock JK fog light setup. I was searching for images here and on google but could not really find anything. Just curious if anyone here has done a similar mod? TIA.
  19. Tie rod or draglink, doesn't matter. They can be used in both spots. I run them on my 1 ton swapped jeep with hydro assist to keep my tierod from flopping around under pressure. Works just fine.
  20. Finally picked up a unicorn or at least for me lol. Almost perfect rear bumper. Going to strip it and freshen it up before it goes on the truck. Only been looking for over an year!
  21. slider is the way to go, you will get much better air flow with it open!
  22. I got one last year. Color was spot on for the dark blue interior, fit like a glove and was super nice quality. can't recommend enough!
  23. Spent the day working on the cruise control. After a lot of tracing wires and vac lines I finally found that the brake switch should have 2 sets of wires hooked to it. All this time I thought those two connectors were dual redundancy for the brakes. Guess the second set was for cc lol. I had to cut the connector of and splice in terminals because the connector was in rough shape. After all that work we finally have CC!
