Thanks guys. Found the issue. I thought the two connectors on the brake switch were dual redundancy for brake lights in case one breaks or fails. Turns out one set runs brakes and one set is for the cruise Spliced those back in since the connector was in bad shape and boom cruise. Scared the hell out of me the first time it engaged lol.

Working on my CC and I noticed I have a black vac switch with no connector on the brake pedal. All the pics I see are white with a 2 prong connector plugged into one area and a vac line on the other. Can anyone snap a pic of their connector and switch. I’m a little puzzled why my switch is only vac. TIA. here is the connector and switch

Glad to hear someone actually read through it! If any in the future needs more details I can gladly assist. Pretty straight forward but definitely be careful opening up the housing! For the SEM I used Shadow Blue. I believe it was listed in the color match section for interior here on the forums. How good does it match? Its definitely darker than the faded panels I had. I can't say if it is darker than a NOS piece that has never seen sun though. The color is extremely nice in my opinion and looks great in the truck. Prep work is the key to success when painting the panels. I can take a comparison of the lower vs upper dash if needed. Finally got around to buttoning up the under hood light. Refurb the contacts, adjusted the wrap spring so it actually retracts and greased the pivots. It’s nice to have this thing working again.

Now that the AC works I got the dreaded pool of water in the passenger floorboard. Had to snake the drain out and clean out about 30 years worth of mud. 43F air on a 98 degree day is awesome though. Should have fixed it sooner lol.

Decided to restore the hood light…. It was a hot mess but pretty easy to clean up. Be careful with the wrap spring inside. It likes to jump out at ya lol. Waiting in some M3 button head screws so I can finish the assembly.

Finally found some time to do some more work to the truck free moving. Next in the list is AC repair…. It’s hot in the south lol. Decided to hold off swapping the system to 134A and bought some R12A cans (frosty freeze) from a friend of mine that does AC repair. I had a low pressure gauge sitting in the toolbox so I figured for a few bucks it was worth a shot to see if I could get the air cold. Note: the AC tried to work before charging. It would kick in and run it just wasn’t working properly. The charge was definitely low. About half a can and it was up to pressure. After that it worked but I noticed my fan wasn’t kicking on. Jumped the relay and nothing. It clicked over but no fan. Put 12v straight to the fan and got it to work. It was odd, this is the first relay I’ve had that would click over but not transfer power. Usually when I’ve had them fail they won’t switch at all. Swapped the relay out for one I had in the parts bin and boom. 43 degree air coming out the vents. Going to be nice driving to and from work now lol.

Finally found a rear sliding glass window lock and sometime to put it in. This was a pain to find but sliding the window with the glass was getting old lol.

Looking for complete set of power windows for the MJ. Willing to buy complete doors as well. Let me know what you have.

Also got a chance to put on the new valance. Super stoked to have this piece back. The PO took it off with the flares and was never to be seen again lol. Amazing how far this little truck has come from last July. I’ve put 5k miles on it since I got it running and I can honestly say it’s been a joy owning this thing! Even with all its quirkiness

Had a grinding noise every time I turn right so I figured it was time to check the front wheel bearings. Sure enough they had seen better days. These were original and put up a damn good fight. I ended up using the power steering as a press. Used a deep well socket on the lower two knuckle bolts and tapped the hub with a hammer as I kept pressure on the gun with the steering wheel. Worked like a charm.

Well it’s about a month to late for this but I couldn’t pass up the advanced adapters AX15 external slave bell housing kit. Snagged this locally for $250. Figured when the internal craps out again I’ll have this bad boy ready for the external swap!

Put it to work this weekend. I can definitively say you can fit 40’s with a stock suspension pretty sure I can squeeze 43’s if I try

With the interior out it was time to throw on new paint. Now all that’s left is repair the cracked dash or replace it with one I purchased several months ago. The key is to clean and prep properly. The plastic needs a good scuffing with soap and a gray scotch brite pad. Then it needs a plastic conditioner to soften the material and allow paint to really adhere. After that it’s as easy as spraying the color of choice.

Well I got bored this past weekend while carving signs (my side business and hobby) so I decided to knock out the eldest of the interior and headliner paint and replacement. I got in on the group buy from SMS and I couldn’t be happier with the final outcome. Great quality and fit. What a difference removing a 30 year old headliner makes lol.

Thank you sir! Cannot wait to get the headliner in and the rest painted. The dash will be the wildcard, it is cracked in one spot and I am debating on trying to attempt a repair or replace it with another good one I have in the shop. I really do not want to pull the dash unless necessary though lol.
