  1. Obtain a build sheet? It's been awhile, but I think the Pioneer package showed up on the build sheet I got for one of my Comanches'. Don't know the link, but it should show up with a search.
  2. Went to H.S. in San Antonio. Went back for a reunion in 2001. First time I've been back since school. Took the wife, she loved it down there. Would like to retire there, but I married a Ky girl.

    Wheelin' 12/27

Finally got to wheel with a Comanche. Makes me miss my 4x4 all the more. Why do I want to build a Comanche rig when I have a perfectly decent TJ to wheel with? Guess it really is an addiction. This was at Interlake, Lynnville, IN. Extremely muddy and fun! AND 74DEGREES  Image Not Found Image Not Found My TJ: Image Not Found
  5. My shirt has arrived and is PERFECT.
  6. We're adding Guitar Hero Rock Band this year, and MarioKart. I gotta have this game.
  7. If thats my military green w/tan lettering, it's awesome.
  8. Sounds like my desktop a few months ago. I found a bad power connection on the motherboard. I'm not a guru and found it quite by accident. It's a little jumper wire.

    New JEEP owner

Actually......there a few threads on cupholders here. I think I started one, complete with pics. Things are looking up. I love my 2wd. Very handy to have around, It's my daily driver. I also have a Wrangler for 4wd.
  10. No thanks. I barfed after the teacup ride at Disney. My kids wanted to crawl under a rock. :ack:

    i love ebay

Your right sugarfoot, you have to dig through a lot of crap, but the good buys are still there. I've restored 2 motorcylces and 2 Comanches from there(also the local pull a part). My pull a part got smart to my ways and hardly has any JEEP good stuff anymore. I had a cottage industry for awhile on e-bay. jbhill-it's fun finding parts like that for the Comanche. I got mine at the pull a part. Good find. I'm currently piecing a Yakima rack(from e-bay)for my Comanche to carry my kayak on top of my topper so I can keep the bed free. I've got about $60 in it. I'm using black iron pipe for the rails $22 versus $58 for Yak bars. I'm cheap. :help:

    Yahoo[BOT]

What's this? Yahoo[bot] It's on the list of users. I've never seen it before.
  13. Two problems I had: The oil pan wouldn't clear(well, very little clearance, I kept knocking the gasket off) the steering linkage, so I disconnected it at the pitman arm. That was even with the axle sagging. You may not have to. It says to use RTV sparingly on the corners. I did, and had to do it over. So, use more, I wound up running a bead all the way around the pan, between the gasket and block. I tied the gasket on the pan with dental floss to keep it on, then removed the floss. I had trouble keeping the gasket from moving. Overkill yes, but I didn't want to do it a third time. Clean the underneath first if you can, mine was a mess. Not really too bad of a job. Good Luck.
  14. I've got my dream job. Fire Dept. I work 110 days a year(24 hr shifts however). I guess I could make more money, but did I mention, I'm off 255 days a year?
  15. Yeah, I copied and pasted the first time. :D
  16. E-mailed l/s t-shirt order. Thanks! Ken EDIT I thought I did, it came back.
  17. My 97 has a bad heater core(remove the dash dealie), check that. Looks like a Limited, probably a 249 transfer case, check the viscous coupling by turning figure 8's in the parking lot. Check for binding, noises, etc.
  18. I wanted to be out of my house this year, won't happen now I'm afraid,. 401k's not looking good, I'm alot less aggresive than I was in the last turndown, actually made money on a fixed contract fund. I'm 3 years from retiring from the fire dept, I'm contemplating my next career move. Wife desperately needs a newer car, not happening. I feel like the smartest man alive driving my $500 Comanche w/no payment. I'm not "playing" as much now, offroading, kayaking, geocaching and the like. Not doing without necessities, but not splurging. We're pretty confident about ours jobs, so we'll ride it out.
  19. One of mine was broken there as well. Got a new one at O'Reilly's for $13. Probably a little more now. I was replacing the carpet and sprucing up the interior, so it was no biggie for me to replace.
  20. I just did this-twice. The instructions say to use silicone sparingly where the timing cover meets the block. And....I wound up with a worse oil leak than the RMS. So the next gasket I ran a bead of silicone all the way around the top of the gasket where it meets the block. Overkill, yes, but I didn't want to do it again. I didn't glue the gasket to the pan, but I used dntal floss to "tie" it to the pan. You don't want to knock that sucker loose, I found silicone to be a poor "glue". No more oil leaks.
  21. I was planning to go with the 2 lip RM seal from Felpro next week. Anybody used that one?
  22. I just folded a big piece of cardboard over the one I sold. Extra on the ends. Good job, however, looks like a nice one.
  23. Sought after on the Grand forums I used to frequent. A few people converted thiers.
  24. http://elcaminocentral.com/article95.html Got the tool at a Bumper to Bumper parts store(in stock). Made by Lisle, number escapes me. Other tools are needed, but I had those. Have fun! Edit: found it.http://www.lislecorp.com/tool_detail.cfm?detail=200
  25. Yes, there is, I did it. Had to buy an $8 tool, so not too bad. But, the repair is not fun, but doable. Link as soon as I find it.
