  1. here's a pic of Yakima 1A gutter mounts just for reference. I kinda thought the whole thing would sit too high for my liking and the basket would have to be pretty narrow. Not sure if there are any shorter gutter mounts. I know someone posted a modified Yakima basket at one time and I thought it looked pretty good. I started to do this project as well, because I had a Yakima Loadwarrior basket. I decided to sell the basket instead.
  2. Part# for the stocker. I heard they aren't available any longer, but you might try. I bought a set for my 4x4 a few years back. I put the 3.29 lights in my 2wd yesterday. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3490
  3. A re-introduction of sorts. I bought this Comanche for parts for my sold 4x4. It wound up being a solid truck and have driven it ever since. I have put almost 60k on it in 2.5 years. Got my moneys worth out iof it, I'd say. It is my last remaining JEEP. If the right donor appears at the same time that I have the money, i will convert it to 4x4. The LWB on e-bay looks good, but no money at the moment. I've spent the last few days ironing out little annoying things like interior lights converted over the the 3.29 Advance Auto lights, door latches, and I need to fix the winshield washer. Things I didn't miss when I had other go to rides. Trying to decide if I want to put the 10 spoke wheels on it. And I'm actually keeping it washed now. I love these trucks. when I brought it home 2.5 years ago.

    Thanks, Wildman

Thats the only thing I can assume also, it acted like a big vacuum leak. Still doesn't sound right, the leak was before the TB. Apparently it has an effect on the system some how. I found no other vacuum leaks, as I replaced all the lines on both my Comanches, as soon as I bought them. But, as I said, mine is running like a top now, so I'm happy.

Huh? I'm claiming that it did fix it, but have no reason why. I found nothing to fix in my checks prior to installing the tube. It has a new exhaust manifold.
  7. Colors? Front Fenders? Which yard?

Update on my need for an intake tube. My Comanche has from time to time had the stumbles, hesitations. Nothing serious that a cleaning of sensors and TB wouldn't take care of. My fuel pump let go a couple of weeks ago, all I could get was the cheapie, so I bought it and put it in. I needed my truck, JEEP pumps are on a long back order and they've gone WAY up on price. Looks like the pump I took out was the original w/195k miles. The "sock" had maybe 2 or 3 pinholes that would let light through, so it was time. So after replacing the pump, my truck ran better than it ever has....until a week ago. It began having serious drivability issues. My first check revealed a cracked intake tube, a serious crack. I taped it up and started looking for one. Wildman came through for me, and the one he sent is actually flexible rubber, lol  . I just got around to replacing it yesterday with my truck running really crappy. So, I start looking at grounds, testing sensors, checking for vacuum leaks, etc. Take off the old intake tube and find another serious crack on the bottom. Find no other reason for the crappy running. Put new tube on, runs perfect. So chalk up another check for stumbling and hesitations. Been told a million times to check the simple things first, but never would have suspected that. Many thanks to Comanche Club, Wildman, Pete M.
  10. He will print it on the back, but doesn't have a small one for the front unless theres enough interest.
  11. I sent him a question about the design on the rear. edit:I went ahead and ordered a shirt, I'll let you know what his answer is.
  12. X2, I might ask him if it's doable.
  13. After they settled with the insurance co, they sold everything by invitation only. I paid $3000 for this one. It had a scratch on the fender and a tear on the seat. My friend got one for $2000, but the frame was bent some. He also bought a Polaris 90 for his son. The only reason I didn't buy 2 was I didn't have the cash.
  14. The morning I brought it home from the tornado ravaged dealer(see the glass?)
  15. I can't fault you for taking advantage of this program, but I sure hope you express your deepest appreciation to the rest of us .... considering its OUR TAX MONEY you just received. Wow, I don't believe the comments I've recieved from friends over this. Mostly by people who couldn't afford a car right now. Just like my job as a firefighter, when I'm supposedly "doing nothing". People complain, but they're the first ones who want a reference when a job comes available.
  16. I blew this offer off by mistake at first. My wife needs a car badly. I'm getting a Nissan Sentra, $4500+$2000 rebate. I didn't think you could get rebates with this offer, but I found out today. So, 18k car for $11.5. A good deal for us. I'll be trading in my wore out Grand worth $1500 tops, but needing $1000 in repairs. I'm keeping the Comanche, I don't want to see it crushed. Sorry, but this program works for me.
  17. Try a jumper wire on the ballast resistor.

    any fishermen?

I'm a life long fisherman. I'm blessed with having some farm ponds and my wifes family owns a strip pit close to home. I go most evenings and catch a few fish. I started a new hobby last year: I fish out of a kayak now. I'm really addicted to it. Great way to wind down at the end of the day. I even have a fish finder on it powered by 8 AA batteries. 19. Great. I used a T60 that looks like a hex wrench. And I bought a foot long piece of black pipe at Lowes for about $2 to use for a cheater. I buy the o-rings from the local dealer for $5 and some change, and get them the next day. Sooo, if yours is leaking, get out there and fix it.
  20. When I was looking for my first Comanche, I found one a mile from my house. Original owner, 90 model ELIMINATOR ,37,000 original miles. We had just had a tornado in town and the truck had some damage, cracked windshied, broken mirrors, and a few dents, minor stuff. Anyway, has a salvage title now. I offered the man a pretty penny for it and thought he was going to sell it to me, but he backed out. He still drives it from his house to his farm, a short distance, but still illegally. It still has no plates on it. Thought I'd gotten over it. :fs1:
  21. Nothing a rattlecan paintjob won't fix. I vote olive drab.
  22. Basket is pretty sweet, Jeepco. I just had a brainstorm. I have a Yakima basket that I could cut down. I don't use it on my Grand Cherokee much anymore.
  23. I would be interested, but I know at least one of my rain gutters is loose. I am not familiar with these parts, but it seems like they would require a strong base. That would be the trim, IIRC. Theres a solid foundation underneath. I had to replace the trim piece once that got tore off by a tree.
  24. By the way, I bought a set of 4 1A towers cheap, won't need the other 2, if that sounds like a viable solution for you.
  25. This is what I did to haul my kayak. I wanted to keep the topper. Probably $75 in the whole thing, in keeping with the theme of driving my $500 Comanche. Iron pipe for crossbars $22 versus $58 for Yak bars, all the other pieces bought off e-bay a little at a time. 1A towers for the cab, control towers and landing pads for the topper(bad pics-no light). I'd like to have one of those carriers above for the rear when I go topless: Image Not Found Image Not Found
