    Craigslist question

    That will work, thanks.
  2. For the life of me I can't seem to search the entire country anymore. When I'm trying to find something, I have to change back to each and every area and it's a pain. What am I doing wrong? For example: When I put in JEEP, I used to get listings for the whole country, now I get them for Western KY, so after that search, I have to change to another area or city, and so on and so on.

    Hello all

I'm a transplant from San Antonio TX, then Tampa FL. This is a great area to live.

    Hello all

Wow your' the first person I've heard from thats even from TN lol. Nice to have someone who knows about this place :D Actually, I'm from Madisonville, KY. About an 1 hr 45 min from you. Used to come to Gallatin twice a year to race at Lock 4. Great place to ride and I like the area. My son is going there right now, hope it pans out, I couldn't sway him toward something else. What do you do, if you don't mind me asking?

    Hello all

Hello back. I used to race mountain bikes at Lock 4. I'm Ken
  6. HornetCowboy.club.com. Would have had to have it's own forum. I like the hornet, but they could have built a more stylish bed for it. One of my favorite cars was a 67 El Camino I rebuilt back in the early 80's.
  7. If it has skids and towhooks, get those for trading/selling. Probably doesn't, however.
  8. Thinking along the same lines. :D

    Facebook!?!?

All I've found is Club comanche, which is an MJ/XJ group. Doesn't look affiliated with this forum.
  11. Check the plastic line from the Map sensor on the firewall that goes to the throttle body. The rubber connector between the plastic line and the Map may be cracked on the backside. A start anyway, it happened to mine.
  12. I'm a Fire Instructor I. I don't have an organized class. I can teach any subject that has a lesson plan, which all of these subjects do. A company officer in any dept should be able to teach any of these as well in the form of company drills. FFI and FF II testing and skill evaluations are formally given by state fire instructors. In Kentucky, you don't neccesarily have to have formal training. If you study these manuals on your own, including the skills, you just have to show up when testing is done and pass the evaluations. Formal classes will help if going for a degree of some sort.
  13. IIRC, we used dry graphite back in the old days.
  14. I've been through the 3rd, 4th, and 5th editions, mostly interesting reading. Started before any editions, lol. The skills aren't hard if you have a few dedicated buddies to practice with. Don't sweat the skills, they're not as bad as they seem. Very satisfying feeling to get through the FF1 and FF2. Guess I could have been "grandfathered" in, but how inspiring would that have been to my young firefighters, especially being an instructor.
  15. #4 Thats what I want to do, I'd love to do it a 31k'er
  16. My only experience and probably not what you want to see. I will tell you this-it works well, it was fun, and I like the results. I actually think a truck would be easier. This stuff has been on for 5 years.
  17. I'm totally obsessed with buying another MJ or the right XJ donor. I will make it happen this year.

No, the “value” you talk about is if, you were turning around and trying to sell it. The real value is knowing you’re driving a problem free new vehicle. Right. In my case I got a brand new car w/a lifetime warranty for less than a used car with less/no warranty. Face it, this countrys economy was based on people buying into the notion of trading cars every couple of years. I didn't buy into it. I knew it was a losing proposition all along. And another fact remains, we MUST have transportation and you just try to do the best that you can do. I've always bought used, still had a payment, usually with no warranty. I'm feeling pretty good about my situation. Not my problem if other people get giddy about a new car they can't afford. Well, maybe indirectly, but we'll never find a cure for dumb people. Now if only I can find the right Comanche or donor 4x4 Cherokee I'll be in business. Should have never sold my 4x4. I guess I could drive just about anything, but my goal now is to convert mine or buy another 4x4, paint, detail, and on and on...

Some may have gotten hosed. I don't feel that way. I saw it as an oppurtunity to get a much needed car for my wife. I traded in a 97 Grand that was plain worn out and needed alot of repairs. I certainly didn't want to drop the dash to replace the heater core. I bought a Sentra for less than invoice+2000 rebate and the cfc. Sticker price,19700, paid 12100. Don't think I'll get hosed at tax time, although I'll admit I didn't know about it, I'm sure not in a 30% tax bracket. I feel like I did ok. I don't buy cars just for the fun of it-I needed one. It has been great having a dependable car to be able to drive and the wife loves it. I am glad that the vehicles became available at junkyards, that was most peoples concern, the loss of usable parts. They're weren't many on my Grand, although it did have the Up country package. I simply got tired of keeping it going. I do, however enjoy keeping the Beloved Comanche going and I am sad that some were traded in. I kept the Comanche instead of the Grand. I put a lot of thought into any purchase, please put this to rest and don't lump everybody into the same catagory of being an idiot for doing something, there are always exceptions. It was an idiotic program that did me some good.
  20. I had problems with this as well. I used WD40, Teflon spray, and a graphite spray, none of which worked, so I just never locked the doors overnight in winter. I finally found some door latches from a 96 XJ at the pull a part-no more problem.
  21. Bought the front for my 4x4 at Oreillys as well. Replaced the vaccuum lines with original replacements. Bought the first set from the dealer, the second set aftermarket. No difference but price. NAPA #'s for hoses- BK 7151365, 7151366, 7151367 Dorman #'s- 53004838,53004868,4762592
  22. Sounds like you already have the plan. Things will crop up, fix them as you go. Don't waste time trying to unfreeze the e-brake cables. I tried that(stubborn I suppose) it never free'd up. New ones are available from any parts store, I paid about $12 each at Oreilly's. I had to do it twice, once I gave up, I had to put it back together and wait for the new cables. I replaced all the vacuum lines on both that I resurected, because I like a half way neat looking drivetrain at the least. They're available from Oreilly's also. The numbers, I've lost. A GOOD parts man can find them, Dorman Products come to mind. The brakes suck, my 4x4 needed a new booster to get any where near acceptable, might swap in the later year type. Instructions can be found here on the forum. Just deal with rust, I luckily didn't have to. Good luck. My 2wd drive just turned 199k this morning, i've been DD'ing it since I bought it w/147k for $600 and I take it anywhere. Have fun, I did. I will get another 4x4 as soon as possible.
  23. It's what us parents are supposed to do. We're responsible for your well being. How about doing well for yourself, don't cop out with the "I'm now bright comment". Akula is right, you'll figure it out someday. How about figuring it out now, You'll be glad you did. Good luck!
  24.
  25. Not bad, the 2nd one I did, did the egr tube didn't fit properly and caused me fits. The later models, like on my grand Cherokee are pretty easy.
