I hate to be this guy on here.... Although I am a strong believer in voting and the people having the ability to change the country. I feel the way our current government is setup individual votes to not affect final decisions in law making. But hey I'm not here to talk politics and I'm not trying to start any sort of arguments.

Budget steering/brake upgrades
MjPioneer replied to MjPioneer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks for the info so far guys. These are my steering angles, as you can see nothing is parallel and I appear to have bent my tie rod. -
I hate what this country has turned into. Unfortunately their is next to nothing we can do.

Hey guys As of November 8th I'm being my house is being foreclosed on (but that's a whole different story) so I'm on a tight budget and need to get my truck finished asap. My steering is currently is a bit iffy due to very steep angles on the drag link which as you can guess leads to some hardcore bumpsteer. I need a way to lower the angles for under about $100.01 which isn't leaving me many options. The only things I can think of is to go over the knuckle to lower the angle about an inch or two, or to get a drop pitman. Neither one of those are really appealing to me as the track bar will need to be changed up as well. Any ideas guys? Hell if not are there any good ways to stomp out bump steer without changing up my entire steering setup? Along with the steering I need to finish up my brakes. I've recently done the front over new pads/rotors/calipers no problems there the rear on the other hand...I just picked up new drums/shoes/hardware/hard lines/ but I need the soft line, local auto parts store doesn't one. I have heard I can scavenge one out of a 90's Dakota is this true? Well I'm under there I figured it would be a great time to bypass the prop valve how does one do that exactly? I'll be going to the pick and pull this weekend for parts so what do I need to grab for that? Also well I'm at the pick and pull is there anything I can grab for cheapish to upgrade the brakes/steering? I appreciate any help guys.

That's the option I am hoping on going. I have a good set of adjustable arms I can use but I haven't ordered the brackets yet as I was hoping somebody here may have a set.

I'm hoping somebody on here has either one of these items. I have cash and am willing to pay a reasonable price.

If you have an 89 4.0 it's likely to be the Ba/105 http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/ba10_5.htm

wanting to lift and performance on my manche
MjPioneer replied to codymanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If the closed cooling system works, leave it alone as doing anything to them will cause them to never work correctly again. If you have a DD in there already why swap one in from a Xj? -
Closed system utilizes a pressure bottle with a none capped radiator.

I'd try that spray on rubberizer stuff, Or you could get real creative with an old car tire :brows:

My pioneer has the front, tcase, and fuel skid

Disc brakes are generally easier to maintain, hold better under hard breaking, and have a better success rate. Drum brakes tend to fail should one small component shift. Plus if you're anything like me, replacing drums might as well be rocket science.

I'll be over this weekend, ready the grill and beer.

I know I'm beating this to death with a stick but I'm still having issues with my rear brakes. I ordered everything I was told I needed by C.A.P for my drum brakes, but now I realize I'm short on parts here... Essentially I needed every single part for the rear brakes I had nothing just a bare axle. I picked up backing plates, "hardware" kit, shoes, wheel cylinders, drums and lines. I went to install the brakes today and now I'm at a stand still. It appears I am missing many many parts. I circled everything I need to find in this picture I checked out the local Jy and I can't find another D44 to pull these parts from and I wasn't sure if D35 ones would fit. Any idea where I can find these parts? I also need to find the bolts that hold the wheel cylinder onto the backing plate. :fs1: Also I removed the old rotting lines that were still on the axle and ran into another issue. I have this T fitting junction on my axle that I can't find another of. I was going to try to re-use it but it is trashed. I tried to look it up but I can find this one, at the parts store they told me I would have to go through Jeep, I'm hoping I don't need to since that will cost an arm and a leg. This is the junction fitting I am referring to. I appreciate the help guys.

^^ Nice rig, what size tires are you running on that bad boy?

To cover a little more ground... On the block it is on the passenger side near the distributor/oil filter, the tail light/ fuel pump ground can be found behind the drivers side tail light.

I love the way that looks. Any shots of it all closed up? Seriously I love the look of the "Vintage" sears paint.

Eh well I decided since I was ordering some other parts from RockAuto I would through in my brake parts as well, for convenience sake. For one reason or another the brakes were shipped from a different location wand has been caught up somewhere. Only 180days left! sometime next year I'll be getting a sweet surprise.

If it's true, it's about time. If it's not true come on! Personally I don't like it looks far to much like a wrangler. The only way to make that truck look good imo is shorten up the bed, make it a single cab, toss on some square headlights, and add some d44's under her. Then we can talk.
