  1. Ok guys, so I checked the ball joints and wheel bearings they're good, and I checked out my bushings none of them are cracked or chewed up. Btw I have Rubicon Express upper, and lower control arms. My lift in the front is 4.5 RC coils with 2 inch spacers, would biting the bullet and get 6-6.5 coils help things out? Tomorow since I have the day off I'm going to try out my buddies tires to see if it if mine are just increadably out of whack. Also well I was done under the Mj I noticed the long long tie rod was well to say the least destroyed, hopefully a new one will help.
  2. I guess I'll really inspect the steering/wheel bearings when I get home from work. What the best way to tell if my wheel bearings are gone? Also with a 6inch what size drop pitman should I be going with? Right now it has a 1inch drop and it appears to have done nothing.
  3. Actualy probably should have thrown that in all my ball joints have been replaced withint the last 200 miles, and we did the drivers side wheel bearing, the passengers side looked to be okay. How big of a factor could this be in the Dw?
  4. Thats a bit out of my price range at the moment, plus I can't see how adding long arms would get rid of DW. I'm really interested though could you explain?
  5. So when I bought my Mj, it was as most are..stock. I went for Soa, and coils I then added spacers to level everything out. Ever since then I have been battling the dreaded Death Wobble with no clear victory in my future. I've gone through several trac bars, countless shocks, experimented with drop pitmans, tried many many stab setups, and screamed at it. I have just place an order for new tie rod ends and that super huge tierod draglink thing. after ordering I realized..hey maybe my steering geometry is just awful because I'm sitting a little to high. I'm thinking I'm go to remove the 2inch spacers up front to aid the steering geo. Not to hard sounding right? Well here's were it will get a little tricky If I drop the front 2inches what do I do with the rear? It has stock leafs that are Soa so I can't really remove leaves without the fear of sagging badly, The only two options I have heard of are, removing the second leaf from the back and replacing it with a main leaf from a stock Xj pack (apperntly will settle down a little lower?) or swapping my Mj shackles for Xj shackles since the a just a little smaller. Aside from those seemingly simple options I guess I could go back to spring under and throughin some add a leafs. Does anybody have any ideas? Or heck any ideas how I can stay at current height (6inch) and finaly defeat my Death Wobble? Thanks
  6. Hey there guys, my jeep club (Twizzted 4x4) is attempting the gauge the interest in a jeep and greet in eastern Ma. Right now we are just trying to see how many people would be interested in attending. We're currently looking at a time frame around June 26th but that is subject to change depending on peoples availability. Current information on the event is June 26 (Pending) Rain or shine Natick Ma, at Jordans Furniture. Keep in mind this is not going to be a wheelin adventure just a meet and great for local jeepers to promote the Jeep lifestyle. If anyone is interested post up so we can figure this put But remeber All jeeps are welcome

  8. Oh just the basics, Rebuild/stroke the motor, rebuild the tranny, some bad@$$ clutch, replace the entire front end of the truck with oringinal parts, 1ton steering, drop in some new floors, replace the enterior with 97+ what not, replace my leafs with somenice stock ones, and paint her back to black. I'm not to difficult
  9. In all reality I wish I had this when I tried it on my wifes old sable. Ended up taking to a family friends shop it was just to consuming for me.
  10. But what am I going to do that night now
  11. I have to ask why you say that. My TJ sports an RE front trackbar of the same design, and truth be told, it is the ONLY part (with exception of the springs) from the original RE kit I have not replaced due to failure in the 6 years since I installed it. Yes, even the brake lines failed on me a couple years ago. I do not know much about suspension design/geometry, but I do know that is one piece that seems to have held up over time. I'd also like to kno, I have the same trackbar and have yet to have any problems
  12. Looking for a header panel with all the gooes on it if possable. Was in an accident and need to replace everything! Have cash. Email is Huntsmowing@yahoo.com Or shoot me a pm
  13. it pains me to see Jeep which is possably the most iconic made in america vehicle get sold off across the bond. Jeep has already been through a rocky life, why do we need to extend its suffering?
  14. Looking to buy pretty much everything for the front of my Mj, header panel, marker lights, grill, and all the plastics for the front end, and front bumper. Would love if there were some local guys that could help me out.
  15. Here is my little girl. 89 Pioneer 4.0 5speed, 257,XXX still runs like a top. Soa, Re 5.5 coils, re control arms, re track bar, 33x12.5 Thornbirds, d44 rear end, tons of othere stuf. Honestly I have yet to find another one of these out in eastern ma, I was really hoping to fidn a fellow owner to meet up with sometime.
  16. Does this kit allow you to still use the foot pedal or once installed is it habd throttle only?
  17. I was browsing quadratec and stumbled upon this nifty little thing. Was just wondering if anybody here has used one and how it worked for them. It defenatly looks like it could be helpful when it comes to the situations were you need to brake throttle and cluth nearly all at the same time. http://www.quadratec.com/products/16192_251.htm Thanks guys.
  18. Thanks everybody. Looks like I will be going with rear disks, its deffenatly the easiest option for me, since I won't need to get ahold of those darn backing plates. Now as far as why the previous owners took everything out? They claimed it was all junk and was to gummed up to repair so they stripped it out, since of course you only need front breaks. Did i mention the previous owners were a 18yr old guy and 18yr gal? :wall: :wall:
  19. When I bought my Mj the old owners told me it didn't have rear brakes, which was fine for what i payed for it. I've been living with front brakes only for a while now and it is time to redo the rears. So here is the issue I am runing into, their is litterly nothing in the rear. Pretty much I have tires attached to the axle and that it. I beleive there is a backing plate that holds the brake assembly together? Were can I buy everything I need for the brake system? Aside from the JY that is, if I could of gotten it their I would have already. Its a D44 rear end btw.
  20. Just a quick question, I'm replacing the fittings on the master cylinder on my truck and I need to kno what sizes to buy. I remeber reading that they were 7/16 and 1/2. That doesn't sound 100% right to me so if someone could varify I'd appreciate it.
