  1. I will be 26 the end of July, which is coming up too fast on me. I already feel like I'm older than KYMJ though, because of my Cystic Fibrosis, and all my bad joints from my derby car past, and the circle track wreck last June.
  2. The first thing we would need to know is if it's a 2wd or a 4wd, as they are IIRC about an inch difference with the 4wd obviously being the taller one.
  3. Since I did forget to get a STRAIGHT ON shot of it, this is the best one I have for now.
  4. Come to think of it, I don't think I've posted the 86 on here yet, I know I did with the 88. So, here is a few poser shots.
  5. Well, I went and got some better pics of my 88's front end, and I can't begin to see where $800 of repair was done. So, me and Jeepco are going to be swapping another front axle into it sometime in the near future here. See if you can spot any major wrongs with the pics. Sorry for so many pics, and the quality, but, hopefully these do the trick for you guys.
  6. I agree, if you can get more out of re-selling it than it takes to get it out, go for it.
  7. SO....I take back my previous comment. He would prolly beat my old one, but I'd maybe, maybe be able to give him a run. I don't even remember the specs on my old one, but I do remember that the local dragstrip banned us from running it unless we put a rollcage in it.
  8. WOW, beautiful car. I wish I had kept the 70 LS6 chevelle me and my dad had and built. That thing was a beast. Although I'm willing to bet that that one could give my old one a run for the money.
  9. Ok, new update yet again. Went to get my cd player out of my 88, and put it in, well along the way it started raining, so I had to turn my lights on. The headlights and fog lights work fine, but as soon as I turned the headlights on, I lost myinterior lights. Gauge cluster, 4wd switch only, the dome lights still work. Any ideas now? I got a 5 gallon gas can filled and strapped into the bed just in case i happen to run out of fuel as well. So on that aspect, I'm safe.
  10. I know from the PO that the cruise isnt working, or is simply disconnected altogether, and I actually haven't driven it at night yet to know if the headlights are out as well, but as far as I can tell, none of the instrument panel lights are out, as I have the blinkers working when I apply them. I guess I'll have to take another drive tonight and get back to everyone.
  11. Hey, Pat, I just noticed that onlyinacomanche has one like what you're looking for, maybe you could ask him where he got his from?
  12. Any progress updates on this at all? I myself would like to see how they look on there, and if they in fact do fit correctly.
  13. Ok, just a lil update here. I checked the fuse and it was in fact blown, so I replaced it, and took it for a drive. After about 20 minutes or so, it started doing it again. Checked the fuse again, and sure $#!+ blown again. So, I think it's now down to wiring.
  14. Definitely agree there. To all of it.
  15. Thanks Pete, I was just more or less seeing if it was a big problem that needed attention or not. Looks like it's time to invest in a gas can then, just in case.
  16. Wow, I sure am glad I have my mom's boyfrined do most of my work and not take it anywhere else. That's just insane.
  17. Well, I got into my '86 today and all was well. Then just after I start moving I see the gas gauge go WAY past full, it only does this when I'm moving. When I'm sitting at idle, it goes back to just the full mark and I know I have less gas than that in there. After shutting it off for a couple minutes I can get back in, fire it up, and it'll read normally, but again as soon as I start moving, whether in reverse or drive, it goes past full. 2.8 4wd X. Any ideas? Please keep in mind that I live in an apartment complex and have no tools, and am getting over a bad cold, so with my lung problems already, I can't really be running out to check things all the time. Thanks for the help in advance. Joe
  18. Hey, sounds like an idea to me. Just like Jeepco said, give me some time to make some "improvements" and I'm all game.
  19. Yep, good strong lil beaters they are. I had a 95 escort wagon that I used for hornet class racing, had the 1.9L in it. That is until on June 9th.... http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... ght=#11941 I still miss that lil car, sure was fun, but found out I can never do it again, as a couple bones didn't heal right.
  20. Looks like the roof wasnt the only thing fixed. I can barely tell it was rolled, and if ya woulda never posted the pics of after the roll, i woulda just thought it was normal trail damage. Good work on it man.
  21. Ya know Alex, I coulda gotten pics of it too. Even though they wouldn't have turned out that nice.
  22. Meh, that'll buff right out... Glad to know though that it still runs well, and nobody got injured.
  23. Hopefully this isn't your case, but about 4 years back my 88 MJ did this as well. Was going down the road at about 60 when the back end started growling, a couple miles later the whole rear end gave out on me. Found out that the gears were cracked for a while, and they finally gave up and broke into a few different pieces.
  24. I've been looking into getting the bottom one ya posted for a long time. Never seen the first one before, but I think I like it better than the other one. There's a XJ in town that happens to have a cowl hood on it, looks like I'll have to find and follow him and ask about it. EDIT: Maybe I should read the links provided before I open my mouth. It's the same hood....
  25. I like it, and the fact that you kept the bumper ends on it.
