Picked this up off of Ebay this morning. Apparently, it's..... "An original sales brochure (not a reprint) for the 1987 Jeep Pickup Truck line. Includes all models of the Comanche, J10, and J20. This brochure has 28 pages measuring 11"x9" and is in near perfect condition. It has great color pictures of all models, including interior and exterior shots, information on features and appointments, engineering, specifications, engines, shortbed and longbed info., interiors and seating, 2WD, and 4WD. Also includes a printed color and trim chart along with a list of options and accessories by model with color pictures." So, when this thing arrives at my house, I'll give it the look over. Hopefully, it's as in depth as the seller says it is. Anybody else interested in a full scan of each page to put up here on the site (or at least a link to the pictures)? :brows:

More of a request than a "Help" thread. :dunno: Does anyone have a picture of this type of radio? I believe it used to be in higher end models of Cherokees, and am unsure if it was ever put into the MJ. I had a good opportunity to snag a working one early last year at the P&P, but didn't have the money for it. Now, I can't remember what the darn thing looked like, and am trying to find one again. This type of unit has the AMC logo and the "Grand Wagoneer" type script reading "DNR - Digital Noise Reduction" at the top of the unit; along with FM/AM / Cassette and possibly speaker sound output sliders. Thanks. ----- Seems the new forum layout doesn't allow for capitalization of words in the "Title" part of making a new thread. That really bugs me. :thwak:

True 'dat. :laughin: Personally, the parts where I live around, I've never gotten any sort of bias towards my MJ. Everyone stares in awe as it rolls past, and a lot of different kind of people always compliment it whenever I stop anywhere. I'm not surprised at the negativity of others though. I'd have to agree with Jim though; other people get jealous at things they can't get their grubby hands on. It's just how it is sometimes.

I've sent a few VIN graphics to some members on here. Anybody got around to getting some made up and put on (or any of the other graphics)? Just curious.

So I totally didn't get anything done to the horn setup other than buying the materials I needed (relay, wiring, etc). Hooray for laziness! ............. :fool: Actually, last week at work really wore me out; which usually doesn't happen. Probably had to do with my lousy sleep schedule, and the fact I had 16+ hrs worth of work to do in 7, each day. So I slept most of my weekend away. I got the toolbox mounted back on at least. That's gotta count for something. :chillin: Some eye candy that's eventually going to find it's way on. Looks close enough to OEM to justify it being there. -

You got that right. :ack: Hopefully you can get the nasty stuff out of there, and get it ready for more action. -
Liberty H8'ers Got Their Wish...replacement To Be Called "cherokee"
Zenobian_84 replied to Incommando's topic in The Pub
Partially what I was referring to. I know it didn't become this magical, mystical powerhouse worthy of the "Jeep" moniker until the 4.0 debuted. Also, just read up on the links provided. We DO NOT NEED ANY MORE CROSSOVERS. SERIOUSLY. ENOUGH WITH THESE THINGS ALREADY. :wall: -

 Good to know. Thanks for the help everyone; I'll be placing an order for a set or two later this week. -
Headlight Adjustment Screws?

Sure do Don. Are the screws and clips supposed to come as one unit? Or are they 2 piece setup? -

Hmm.... this should be interesting. I doubt it's going to make the same waves it did back in '84 though. -
Headlight Adjustment Screws?
Zenobian_84 replied to Zenobian_84's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Haha, I know; but the ones at the yards are usually in much worse shape than mine! -
Mine are in serious need of replacement, and since I was going to get two new headlights, I figured I may as well replace them while I was at it. After a bit of searching around, I found there is no specific Jeep replacement, and that these are "Universal Sealed Beam Adjusters" (Dorman PN: 42117) Would these be what I'm looking for? Also since I can't seem to locate my repair manual at the moment, how do you change these out (I'm assuming they're all changed the same way)? Just so I don't unintentionally screw anything up while I'm fiddling around with them. :thwak: Never hurts to make sure. :dunno:

I was planning on fixing my horn problems today when I got off from work, but a freak weather storm pounded the center of the state all day it seems. Caught up on my sleep instead. Should have everything taken apart by lunchtime tomorrow and then it's off to the hardware store to find bolts.... :ack: Hopefully by tomorrow night, I'll have some sort of functioning horn. :dunno: -

 Looking good! :clapping: Smiley's don't seem to work on my end. Don't know if it's just me though... ? -
I have to give thanks for the Quick Navigation feature. Saves so much time now jumping from section to section.

Definitely looks good. I'll have to check around and get the feel of everything again, but that's ok. Thanks again to everyone who made this all possible. Definitely enjoying the smiley bar. Makes life much easier :chillin:

If it got thrown out, it's no biggie. I was planning a trip up to the P&P within the next few weeks anyway. I can probably find a decent one out there with a bit of searching around. -
First off, my temperature gauge has been acting funny the last week. It doesn't do it as bad in the video, but when I get it to operating temperature (180-210); drive over 55; or put on the brakes, it starts jumping all over the place from the 160ish mark to where it normally sits. Is the gauge going out, or could it be that the wire to the switch was sitting across a hot exhaust hose, thereby causing an interference in the signal to the gauge? I'll ziptie it out of the way irregardless, but I just wanted to ask. YzD6wVnDUSs Second question is, there is a bevel cut into the throttle body top from my hood release cable laying on it while the engine is running. It's in the stock position, and I'm quite sure that something is wrong here. Does anyone else have this bevel, and should I be concerned about it? Is there anything I can put as a spacer between the TB and the release cable so the bevel doesn't get worse? (some pipe insulation or some sort)
-
Been meaning to ask this same question as well. Glad to know I can finally put my 235/75/15 in the stock position rather than carrying it like a fool in the bed. Not to :hijack: but can anyone tell me what I'm missing under here from the stock mount, or anything you guys would reccomend I upgrade while messing around with it? Sadly, I noticed that the top bolts connecting the U mount to the crossmember are suffering from severe rust it seems. :( PO snapped the head of the left one off, and I wouldn't doubt the right side would come off any easier. Of all the places my almost rust free truck has to have rust.... :fs1:

:brows: Thanks go out to Fiatslug for these. A coat of paint will make 'em look pretty good. -
I posted this thread what seems like forever ago for those of you who remember, and this time no, it isn't about finding amber fog lights. I know the OEM brand of Fog Lights for XJs/MJs were Marchals (?) and those are near impossible to find / very expensive if you can. I bought some cheap-o $20 fog lights I was going to use for up front, but they have a crescent type mount (where it sits on the bumper is beveled outwards, like a moon) and are a bit big for my tastes. I want something that sits nice and flush against the bumper (see pic.), about the size of the factory lights, and is relatively inexpensive to get. I'm sort of thinking about KC lights... but if I'm going to pay $40 per light (cheapest I could find) I'd rather just get 2 for that price. Plus, If something happens to it, I don't want to be out all the money. Can anybody help a picky, tightwad of an MJ brother out? :dunno:

Currently getting the bugs worked out. About ready to make the diagram. Later years will get the Jeep / Eagle banner replaced with a Chrysler one. Also, the noted year will change in the main vehicle description. Thought about doing one for the 2.8; I'd have to be a real masochist to want to render all those vacuum and vapor lines. :ack: I'll go ahead and do it if there's enough interest from people for it though.

Look at that sheen. Feels good; still needs a final 3rd coat though. I didn't get to that fender flare either. Sort of "slipped my mind"... :thwak: Going to round up some cool poser shots tomorrow before I head back to work. :wrench:
