  1. are the wires switched? running bassackwards
  2. if it's the first time being replaced you may find a hard rubber plug around it to keep trash out of bell sort of a pain in the butt, it will keep mice, bolts etc. out
  3. unplug and replug CPS a lot of times this will work if it's weak
  4. is that a Renault diesel?
  5. does anyone know are all XJ-MJ upper dashboards the same from 84 to 96? I am speaking about around instruments, vents to behind glove box door and forward to defrost panel
  6. long bed S-10 are supposed to fit
  7. It's not your generation there has always been a few like this, it's having to be politically correct keeps us from weeding them out
  8. Over the years I have had more problems with Napa parts than any other supplier mostly import ignition tune up stuff, their brown dist. caps were sure to crack not long after install, breaker points that didn't close properly. Napa is the only parts store that I have been in where "MANAGER " talks down the competition when the part you need is not in stock in Napa store to get you to order for next day, if I wanted it the next day I'd come in yesterday! I sold parts for 7 years if I didn't have it I called my competition for you just so you would get it when needed
  9. 4 door Cherokee front should work, can't look at those pics, gives me sore neck
  10. the rubber end at regulator could be found on most any later make or model at local pull your own JY
  11. I assume the DRB3 is a dealer diagnostic tool. What do you think the odds are of a Jeep dealer having this tool as it applies to anXJ Any Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep dealer should still have one if not something better, plugs into OBD port, hopefully you have one, with proper cartridge it should support all models, the beauty part is you can select system, cruise, antilock, passive restraint, trans, hvac etc. and then monitor inputs outputs to possibly isolate problem, it is best scan tool I ever used. Being you have MJ with newer equipment I'm sure any tech would like to help maybe during lunch as it should not take too long being problem seems to be constant
  12. they should never run parallel to add on circuits and only cross others at 90 degrees also they were very light wires not much more than telephone wires
  13. I did a lot of these plugs on XJ and wrangler, don 't recall any bus wires, like I said not many bus problems with the Jeeps at that time, on CP vehicles they were two wires white and purple twisted together, have you seen this in your harness?
  14. needs painted blue three foot wing and "43" on the door
  15. the TSB connecters had approx. 6 inch wires, heat shrink, you were to strip twist and solder. its a poor setup due to connecters are attached to dash and cluster just pushes onto them rather than snapping into cluster, If it is possible find a DRB3, you can configure to cruise and monitor inputs to see what's going south, might cost a couple bucks but save a lot of wire tracing
  16. when you install it get the pin just started assemble on glass and see if you can squeeze pin back into place with pliers so you don't break the glass
  17. check out his profile
  18. No, lower shift boot for MJ is not available that I could find, used one for 97-02 TJ it s not the same but works all screw holes even lined up keeps the heat out of cab
  19. I would carefully drive out that rollpin and see what happens
  20. does it pop through the intake or out the exhaust?
  21. I assume cruise inopp with lite off, You said nothing about brake switch. on two occasions I ran into broken pcm connecter terminals broken forward of crimp don't know how they got that way and nothing to do with cruise but VERY intermittent drivability problems
  22. are we just trying to fix the lamp? does cruise continue to work with lamp off?
  23. reread your post, sounds like you took CS out of the picture, let me ponder this a little
