Should be good to go to both. Be driving the white '90 as the blue '88 is now moth-balled for the winter.

One week from today. January 3rd. I talked to Dad and how does $50 for all three sound? Haven't dug them out or gotten pics yet, should be able to do that today.

Hey Mike, Good to see another guy in town. I'm back in Michigan for the holidays now, hope to meet up with you when I get back in WI. - Brent

Simple and short, Merry Christmas to all of you out there in the Great Lakes Region! I hope Santa brought you all the tools you wanted this year.

I didn't know they made badges for 'em!

Rob, Do you still need these? I asked him and he says he has 3 of them left over. He is thinking one of them might be starting to have a ply separation cause he says he could hear it as he drove it down the road. Would you want just two or all three? Says they are in overall good shape, we'll dig em out and I can get you more info & pics then...

mini beast Project: Stock To Beast!!!
500 MJ replied to MiNi Beast's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Its not that bad Roger, just get some thicker stuff than what is there for the floor-pans so you can actually weld to it. If its too thin then you'll just burn right through. When you weld you can keep the mig gun pointed in toward your thicker steel to throw some of the heat on to it. Don't expect the factory steel to hold much heat... -

He's not even joking. Yah they do get better sometimes but this is very average for how badly gone most of the XJs are in these parts. Every time you buy one its almost a requirement to pull up the carpet to patch the floor. :wall: :hijack: These are some OLD shots of my first XJ, an old National Forest Service woods bomber. I bought this beauty for $250 and it was in SAD shape. Long story short, it got me addicted to Jeeps and is the reason I am where I am today with the Comanches... A few months before I sold it, I got it looking decent compared to what I got when I bought it: When I got it, there were NO floors in it... I welded "new" ones in over the winter with lots of strips of 14g. -

Looks like what I would expect from good old Michigan DOT! I've been there and I know how much it sucks. :grrrr: -
Well, I'm not THAT busy usually. The holidays are one of my busiest times of the year for me, as I am sure they are for you guys. How about February 6th?
-
Smart@$$. :shake: That was a legit question. :smart: :rotf: I think my parents get Discovery Health back in Michigan (where I'll be when it airs - to clear up any confusion). If I'm not busy locating a front or rear axle under a '55 Willy's P/U project with my Dad at that time then I'll be sure to tune in.

February 14th, 2010 :brows: Got nowhere else important to be right??? OK, I'm joking. I would not hear the end of that one... At the earliest, sometime in February would work best for me. Should be healed up and ready to go yardin' by then. Pat, maybe you and I could make a day out of heading to the yard with the group and then swapping our front clip parts that afternoon?

Not the " LAST OF THE MANCHES " 2-92 build project.
500 MJ replied to DJM/78's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Nice truck! Just to let you know, your '92 didn't come with that 10 slot grille, it would have come with an 8 slot... so you should trade me that 10 slot grille and I'll get you whatever style 8 slotter you want :brows: Have Fun, thats what these trucks are all about ;) -
So, Next time lets get this thing planned farther in advance and that way I can hopefully make it... I really wanted to go. :wavey: Glad you guys had fun!

I just bought this one from partstrain.com this summer. Its the Crown Automotive brand and it is working wonderfully for me so far. My OEM one had been replaced sometime in my '90 and the replacement swelled up and cracked on me. I wanted to avoid this problem and get something THICK. So far this was the best one I could find and when I got I was very happy with seeing how thick and rock hard it is. Good sealing cap too... I recommend it! http://www.partstrain.com/store/details ... 73849.html

29 spline 3.55 8.25 $50 - Madison, WI

I agree, but usually at junkyards you have a choice over which axle you get for the "per axle" price... -

Beware of the cheap stuff though. Who knows who has beat on it and what kind of shape its really in internally. I've got no use for an 8.25 but I might have gone to look at that D30 if I didn't already buy my project one... -
Good luck on everything still being OK. Some people do very stupid things just to save a buck and sell a car... :fs2:

Amen. :USAflag: As it is with most cases (not just gun control) if we didn't have the unprofessional lawyers to "interpret" our constitution, bill of rights, laws, etc., The US would be a MUCH better place. The sad thing is that they found a way to make lots of money doing what they do and MONEY and GREED is what drives people, not common sense. And it is YOU and I that are paying them to keep doing what they do, whether we want to or not.

...now we are even Rob. Don't make me remind you about a certain AX-15 swap at Correy's place back in November...

Let's Play, "Why won't my MJ Start"....
500 MJ replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
As much as I like to go along with thinking it was coincidence and a fluke, I'd much rather think that SOMETHING is still wrong. when you were under the hood did you mess around with the CPS any, jiggle the wires at all? That might be your answer right there...? Something kept it from starting... :???: -
Pics?

I'm really wishing I could go now, this sounds like its gonna be fun!

:rotf: Lay off the sauce guys and see if that helps...
