  1. Cycling the key a few times would have the pump run a couple of times to make sure the system would prime. There should be a schrader valve along the fuel rail where you could hook up a gauge to check the pressure.

That would be great! CC shrinks the size of an image, so it still may not show up great. I tagged Pete because he has an email for the build sheets to be sent to so that we can figure out all of the optional equipment. I think it’s something like comancheclub@hotmail.com, but I don’t remember for sure.
  3. What happens if you cycle the key a couple of times before trying to start it? Have you verified fuel pressure?

Nice truck! Be sure to start a build thread on it. @Pete M, this one has a build sheet.
  5. I think that it is a lot easier to get projects done when it isn’t your daily driver. I don’t get much done on either of my projects anymore because I have to drive them all of the time, so I have a hard time taking them out of commission. I agree with Pete though. Try to make smaller goals that will lead up to the big goal. For example, one weekend, you could take off and paint the bumpers and grille assembly. The next weekend you could clean up the interior and replace the carpet. Most things don’t take that long on their own, but the time adds up.
  6. I also think that’s a great price. There’s an XJ D44 for sale where I am for $600. And that’s for a D44 with stock gears. If it’s 6.5 hours round trip, you definitely should get it, even if you’ll have to change the spider gears or carrier.
  7. TJ axles are the same width as MJs/XJs. A TJ front axle is a bolt in swap for an MJ. I seem to recall reading that those TJ D44s aren’t a ton stronger than D30s. That said, I’d run one if I found one for a good price.
  8. Let’s see if we can get a few more MJs there next year! Thanks for letting me drive it!
  9. I see that now that I’m looking closer. I think you might be right.
  10. At the Cactus Cruisers Car Show in Glendale. You just can’t beat an AMC era grille guard and chrome tow hooks.
  11. I was always told the pinion angle should be within 2.5 degrees of parallel. If they make a 3 degree shim, that is probably the way I’d go. And let me guess, you’ve got an XJ rear end in your Eagle? That’s what’s in mine and despite everything I read about the pinion angle being correct, it’s not. I have probably the same amount of travel in the driveshaft, but no vibration, even at 75. Maybe it has something to do with the wheel base, but I’ll let someone who’s smarter than me chip in for that.
  12. If I get them, I’ll definitely post a picture!
  13. I know that most of those by now seem to have SBCs or LSs. I’ve always thought they were a neat looking car.
  14. I would do the same thing, makes it a ton simpler.
  15. Have you checked out @Greenjeans XJ build thread? That’s what he did. Except he might have a 700R4 in his.

    In absentia

Good to see that you're back and looking forward to more frequent posting.

You could always see if they would take a picture of the part with a piece of paper saying today's date on it. Or a newspaper from today, or something along those lines.
  18. As a whole, it looks pretty darn solid though. The soft spots in the frame are unfortunate, but don’t look too bad.
  19. I really like the GM 4.3 V6 and I would say it is probably a worthwhile swap, but I don't know if I would do it myself, unless I had one laying around like you do. These were nice because they shared a lot of parts with the small block V8s, so many conversion parts should work on the 4.3 as well. In terms of transmission to run behind it, that would depend on what you want for the truck. If you want an automatic, I would personally look at the 700R4 unless you have a 4L60E already with the engine. The 700R4 is nice because it is not electronically controlled. If you wanted a manual transmission, there are companies out there that have parts to convert Jeep AX-15s and NV3550s to GM engines or I would do a GM NV3500 that would come out of an 88-98 GM 1/2 ton truck. For a transfer case, I would run a driver side drop GM NP241C if you're running a GM transmission, or the stock Jeep transfer case if you use a Jeep transmission.
  20. You should be able to do most of the work yourself. Make yourself comfortable with the forum and ask questions with you have them. There are tons of great people here willing to help.
  21. Here are two others that I found. This is the best that I have for now.

    Those are some aggressive tires
  23. I don’t think either of these are quite what you’re looking for, but here’s what I’ve got for pics.
  24. Same here, works with my iPhone
  25. Frunk has been built.
