  1. This was the trucks original radiator, which was my biggest issue. But I never want to deal with this again, so this is what we wound up with. Maybe you need one in yours. That said, yours did make it to PA…
  2. I got a new rear seat bottom in near perfect shape and moved a trailer with River rock in it. Once I lift the front, we should be good for road use!
  3. The engine is sitting in and is being wired up. It’s getting close!
  4. Special delivery! Side note, this appears to be a very well made product. Excellent looking welds and the lifetime warranty will be nice. It dropped right in, as it should, and seemed much lighter than my OEM one. A new fan clutch, heater hoses, and coolant recovery bottle for a 2.5 are on the way! I strongly considered the Cold Case product, but this one had more reviews and they were more helpful, so I decided to go this route.
  5. If your coming that far, you ought to come over to my side of WI for a visit. I should have my truck back on the road by then.
  6. I used Dynamat in mine. You could whisper a conversation at highway speeds.
  7. That looks awesome!

Do you know what’s wrong with it? Or does it just need the basic maintenance or move again?

All things considered, it looks like a decent truck though.

Is that a hole in the roof?
  11. This is my issue. I am fighting all of the lack of maintenance from, I would guess, since the truck was new. It was towed behind a motorhome, used as a wood truck, and then it sat for years. Had my truck been properly maintained, I doubt I would be having these issues. I learned that one the hard way this spring.
  12. Well, then all being consistent tell me that it isn’t pushing compression into the cooling system because, if it were, I would also assume that it would suck coolant into the combustion chamber making at least one, but probably not all 6, plugs look unusual.
  13. I know I don’t need a hifalutin’, high-cost radiator, but I am done fighting the cooling system, so we are going with high quality, name brand parts.
  14. It’s been bled several times now. Update, the headgasket and head checked out and all the plugs looked fine. We are leaning towards the radiator being partially plugged.
  15. Thank you. My plan is to covert to the open system and run a Mishimoto radiator.
  16. Without ever having a correctly running 4.0 to compare it to, it seems fine, it wakes up a little more in higher rpms. 235 on the gauge and near that on the head. It’s around 220 in the upper radiator hose. That’s the plan when we air up the cylinders. #1 looked pretty good, I haven’t gotten to the other 5 though.
  17. As many of you know, my 4.0 has been overheating in my 89. It is a completely stock engine out of a 96. The motor had a new water pump installed, we can tell it is circulating coolant, and the temperature drop from the inlet side of the radiator to the outlet side is 30 degrees at idle when it is warmed up. But it still climbs towards 235+ just idling and 30 seconds of about 2600 RPM in neutral. There is no oil in the coolant, nor is there coolant in the oil, and it is not smoking at all. Is the 30 degree temp change too little of a difference? We are thinking that, if the 30 degree temp change is sufficient to keep it cool, then it may be leaking compression into the cooling system, causing too much pressure in the system and causing it to either push coolant out or circulate the coolant too quickly. Over the weekend, I plan to air up the cylinders to see if we are getting bubbles in the cooling system, but first I wanted to make sure the temperature change was acceptable.
  18. July 2021–MJs of the All Breeds Jeep Show Drivetrain- A little bit of everything here. @70barracuda’s 5.3 truck, @Strokermjcomanche’s stroked 4.0, to several stock 4.0s. Suspension/Steering- Some stock, others lifted or lowered. Wheel & Tires- Everything from stock sizes, to small and fat tires, to big off road tires. CC is Awesome! Why? There were MJ owners that came from halfway across the country to meet the people of this forum (although one of them came Comancheless ). To me, that speaks a lot for how helpful and personable the people of this forum are. Now for the part you all have been waiting for, the trucks! @AP_MJ88 @MiNi Beast @87MJTIM and @ComancheKid45 @87MJTIM again @ComancheKid45 again @70barracuda And last but not least, the winner of the XJ/MJ class, or as PA Jeeps called them, the “Commanch”s, @Strokermjcomanche! Seriously guys, it was great to meet you, I know I missed a few of you, but those that I was able to meet on Saturday are all great guys.
  19. Relay cover clips! Plus what jdog said.
  20. Dang it. Well, I got most of them. I also missed another MJ.
  21. Hopefully this one will be back on the road soon! I figure it’s been off of the road since the 90s. Soon, we will get back on this once the MJ is back on the road after my radiator debacle.
  22. Gotcha. Sorry I missed you, today was my only day here. Please send me some pics of it tomorrow if you think about it.
  23. I know a few people were heading over to @ComancheKid45’s house, but I think that’s it. Did you have a black SporTruck? I think that’s the only one is missed getting pictures of.
