  1. Battery replaced. Fired right up after a couple key turns lol. Everything electronically works and the waggy tails are gorgeous. Next is to do the almighty headlight harness upgrade, replace a ground cable and kinda just give him general maintenance
  2. It just might be dealer. But yes I have plans to clean it up at some point. It really does! Sad news is floor is more rusted than I saw before. Good news is AMC is full of cherokees with solid floors so I’m not worried there. Put on some NOS XJW tail lamps, courtesy lights, will put on black Laredo molding and one of the replacement marchal lamps I bought mysteriously broke between its arrival and my arrival so I feel like Cameron with his dads Ferrari from Ferris Bueller. Learned that 84 is definitely weird. Doesn’t have a sentinel headlamp plug. Only thing that pisses me off about this whole XJ is the sound system. So I have plans to undo a lot of that and make it all look correct.
  3. Holy crap the PO had an FSM for it!
  4. Man this thing is a blast from the past and an interesting one too. A lot of 84 oddities like interior pieces and underhood components. Right now I’m working on getting a replacement battery. Group 34 will not fit with the current set up. This one will really irk @Minuit This will get rectified at some point unless 84 condenser is weird like that but I don’t like that. Of the engine bay. Pretty neat. If there’s anything y’all want to see let me know. I got lots of stuff to do and add. I’ll take a pic of the NOS stockpile I got for him.
  5. I have been to about 20 including AK, all the bottom southern states, TN, OR, WA, VI, MD(D.C.), ID, NV, and UT. I just need to venture more north lol. Trust me I would lovvvvve to have the XJ here than just sitting up there where it could become a potential pile of rust. I think I’ll buy a car cover for it just to keep the moisture off of the panels. That being said I have plans to have it here within a year.
  6. Ill think about that lift. How high of a lift is it?
  7. Will do. Think the Waggy we are stipping has an auto trans.
  8. I have a goal to travel all 50 so I will make it up that way at some point.
  9. No I'm flying both ways. Oh how odd mind if I tag along lol.
  10. Okie dokie. I will await for the link. Nice find though!
  11. My good sir, you can not tease us with such clean reprints without a link! Lol.
  12. Hey Washingtonians! Ill be in Everett for a week starting the 11th to the 20th and will hopefully be driving Chunk around while I'm up there, so if any of you guys want to meet up and talk Jeeps let me know and we can work something out. There are 2 days I won't be available and they are the 18th and half of the 19th.
  13. This was me these past few weeks and this up coming week lol.
  14. The Factory Service Manual is the best go to service manual we all recommend and try to use. I believe there is one for download here on the club. As for the owners manual, might check ebay and get lucky or someone on here might have a few spares. Don't think anyone has a PDF of it.
  15. Whats wrong with the blue one?
  16. Thats ok. That’s what this forum is for, to share the history and knowledge of these trucks. Even have a whole rebuild book on the trans too.
  17. Its almost like the PO wanted a Dakota but "settled" on the MJ instead. What an oddity. But damn that's clean. How does the underside look?
  18. Congrats man! I have enjoyed watching your build since you first contacted me. Looking forward to more!
  19. Few more days and y’all will get to see some awesome goodies go into this survivor.
  20. Sounds good! I appreciate it gentlemen!
  21. No worries! I think @SatiricalHen has a lead on a rear end caps for me. Appreciate it though!
  22. No worries. Appreciate ya lookin out though!
  23. Are you sure those aren’t XJ rear caps?
  24. Is it common for MJ owners to not make the best of choices when getting MJ specific parts? I'm starting to think so. Anyways this bumper is mostly intact with light surface rust. Only the support failed and so I will fabricate something new out of the old bumper that was on my truck. Took a few days but I cut all the welds loose. Now to make the bumper straight and rust free.
