The motor I chose for the door, was discontinued. So I got an upgrade for it. Same with the springs. The springs I chose werent in stock so they gave me a 10 year labor warranty on the install for the door vs the single year they came with the install.

Manual transmissions of the AX4 and 5. If you’re lucky enough, you can find a Dakota 2.5L bell house to swap an AX15 in.

That’s actually sounds like a tale my cousins would tell from their days in the force. Course they’re redneck so they even have some more wild ones. But glad you got the battery back. Gettin that blazer towed made me chuckle a little. Bit of karma right there.

Have you checked the front sockets for rust and corrosion? They are a common problem and is highly recommended to replace them with newer XJ front sockets to remedy this problem.

The 2.8L would’ve come with the newer A900 series. That’s the key is finding a 2.5L with an AW4. That engine was commonly mated with the manual AX5 trans. So if you find one, that’s a lucky find. As for the year on the AW4, I do not know. I’m sure someone who knows the AW4 better than I do will chime.

Any other possible GM 60* auto trans but you might have issues with lining up the rear crossmember. Otherwise no, no other years will bolt up unless you find a 2.5L auto(AW4 and not Chrysler A700-900 series) which shares the same bolt pattern as the 2.8L. Or going manual is an option.

It’s up above the drivers side kick panel. If it’s factory, should be a white square relay with an AMC part number on it that should start with 895600. If not then it’s probably been replaced. Either way the relay plug should be three pronged. Two on top and one on bottom. Or vice versa depending on how you look at it. If it can’t be found above the kick panel, it could be tucked behind the panel.

Sounds like the horn is shorted to ground somewhere in the column or the relay. Pull the relay first. Should kill it. Swap with another relay. If that doesn’t work, dig into the column to the turn signal switch assembly and see what’s goin on.

3.7L isn’t the best Chrysler V6. If I recall it’s supposed to be a power tech to succeed the 4.0L. But that engine is the reason why the pentastar exists today.

I had trimmed the openings for both the books and guard, tried to slip the guard over with the pieces bent back and came to the realization that I need to accept my loss on the dam and cut the flaps I bent off. Otherwise that was pretty easy with a cut off wheel.
