  1. My XJ came from the factory with a carb. I’m going to swap it tot TBI in the future. And yes a film of what’s going on might help us see what it is exactly doing.
  2. AMC offered two different gas tank sizes but the major difference is the fuel fill baffle that affects the amount of fuel held.
  3. There’s a ground behind the drivers tail lamp that is for the fuel pump.
  4. The breakaway rocker arms that probably prevented catastrophic engine failure would. Bad fuel pump. Could be damn near anything that would keep a gas engine from running. Maybe a bad glow plug relay. Honestly who knows.
  5. Like there’s Cruiser54’s tips we recommend every MJ owner do to eliminate any issues with their electronics.
  6. O2 can be a cause of erratic idle. But we recommended cleaning your ground before we diagnose sensors and such first. Mine didn’t really turn off at 2k but it definitely struggled to get fuel to the engine when the sock got sucked up by the pump.
  7. Perhaps it’s dumping fuel. I only ask about the sock cause mine broke loose in the tank and stopped flow of fuel above 2k
  8. The front turn signal sockets are the plastic ford style and the better ones are the early/layer metal sockets.
  9. When you put in the new pump, did the sock on the end feel loose at all?
  10. Ford style sockets or the AMC ones for the fronts?
  11. That’s why I asked this question! Hahaha. It’s in the fridge.
  12. Probably in the 86 model year when they weren’t selling the diesel very much and knew sales were dwindling.
  13. I have this exact one on my desk….makes me wonder if AMC used the same cluster warning lamp filter for every cluster to cut down on costs…
  14. Also smart thinking here to fix a rare variant of the Renix gauge. I’d still be cautious to try this myself but a great thought.
  15. If you’re going to do this, pull an HO cluster or something to practice on just to get a feel. I pulled speedo needles off with my hand just fine with no issues. But these gauges are smaller than a speedo but same concept.
  16. 84-86 won’t work as it uses threaded prongs and that slid into some clips in the back of the cluster. Later style uses screws. I might have to do a FYI on Renix clusters. That’s why I asked. So if you have a red face gauge then you’ll need a fuel gauge that screws into the cluster. And those blue ones are rare as the full blue cluster was used in 87 to early 88 only before the new style showed up.
  17. That’s a hard one to come by. Which year range? 84-86 or 87-90? i might have some 84-86 parts but not 87-90.
  18. Could always go to a junk yard XJ and grab every screw in the cab.
  19. Oh shoot! Yes. I have both the MJ one and the XJ one.
  20. Someone already did this actually. They put the waggy front end on their MJ and put wood grain on it too. Some other members have swapped to the waggy front end in here as well. So it’s a fun idea to deck out and MJ to a “limited” trim.
  21. Well they still have my second one lol
  22. No F-in wayyy!!! I’m glad they did!!!
  23. Not a bad idea. I’ll have to find a magnet.
  24. What’s bad is phx graphics has it all scanned and everything…..
  25. The “e” is open but the “a” over laps
