  1. Snow birds don’t flock to AZ for nothin haha. I hope we get more Jeeps. Waiting on one of the guys to send the poster so I can spread it out to the Jeep pages.
  2. It’s moments like this that I thank the existence of digital libraries for my wrenching time so I don’t have to have a personal DJ like my wife to flip records or worry about my records getting dirty.
  3. Whoops! My bad. That is correct, the rest of the doors are vacuum actuated. Heat and AC are just the cable that actually can be seen on the pass side behind the lower dash.
  4. You have no idea how many times I’ve thought about that and when I do, I look at my hands and remind myself that that is why I don’t have a turn table out there. Haha
  5. It really is! I’ve stuck to just nabbing records from goodwill vs buying off Discogs or eBay. Keeps it cheap and if goodwill does their grab bag 45’s, I listen to them all to expose myself to songs I’ve never heard and determine if I like them or not. Sometimes I’ll see some higher end turntables there and contemplate grabbing them but then just think that my set up is pretty good and does what all I need it to.
  6. All the blend doors are controlled by vacuum from the engine. There should be a reservoir behind the bumper in a shape of a ball(less cruise control) or a football(with cruise control). If you have the ball, it’s just one line that goes up to a vac line that comes out of the foam where the heater core tubes come out of and connect to that. The football shape has two lines, one for cruise and one for the HVAC. If you have cruise, hopefully that line is still hooked to the servo and just leaves one line unattended.
  7. Bump for the new year!
  8. Between you and I were just gonna fill up the lot. Lol. Goes to show how real the AMC addiction is.
  9. Definitely music. Turn tables alone just are crazy expensive for top of the line. And just goes down from there. What bugs me is the feasible entry level turn tables are crap at best and can be an easy turn off to someone starting out into the hobby.
  10. Yeahhhhhhh. I worked on a tube radio once. Even though it was off, it was kind of terrifying.
  11. 23rd annual AMC car show March 28th at the Martin Auto Museum this year! They welcome all Jeep and I brought both of mine last year, would be fun to not be the only Jeep guy again haha! There is a registration fee(I think)to be apart of the show and judged but free to just park and show off!
  12. I can tell you this, the music is still cheap haha. Older stuff is cool but the vac tube and transistor age stuff can be a nightmare with those old electronics to where the warm sound may be cool but unless you know how to fix that stuff, a real hazard to have.
  13. I’ve done that…told my wife I didnt have the first McCartney album, turns out I already had it and didn’t recognize the back of the album…oh well. I think I’ve got some duplicate 45’s but those don’t take up a whole lot of space and doesn’t hurt to have a couple doubles. This the only pic I have of it right now. With a couple portable turntables and a cassette storage box on top. This is one of the high end models from the 20’s. The middle is the speaker section that has shelves, im not sure why there’s shelves for that section. If it’s closed the music is quiet but when you open it up it really makes it loud. Really neat engineering. The bottom section is your music storage. Mostly for the albums rather than single 78’s. But you could store either or.
  14. Oh man. Speaking my lingo. I remember posting about such a few years ago. I’ve got this 1980’s Panasonic tuner/turntable/cassette/recorder/aux input all in one with a quartz digital display. Oh and a brushed aluminum with thin strips of woodgrain in between each deck. It’s a fine piece that I found for $15. According to my Discogs, I have 517 recorded records and cassettes with lots more to add. I also have a victrola from 1921 that was a handed down to me. Absolutely love that simple machine.
  15. That.. is the charcoal interior. You might be thinking of the 97-01 darker almost black in color interior.
  16. If you’re good with a dremel, you can cut out the small window on a non column shift gauge and replace it. I know I have one from an idiot light cluster that I’m trying to sell.
  17. I wonder why that is? The sending units are the same for both engines. It’s the pump that’s different supposedly. And of course we have the two different capacities.
  18. Yeah I still do. I’ll find them and shoot you a PM.
  19. Bump for the new year
  20. I’d like to take a moment to thank Ford for providing AMC its crappy ignition system…and this tachometer!:
  21. I doubt your dad will have to tear into the engine. Mine rusted out the plugs for the coolant in the head which resulted in the rebuild. His will probably fire right up with no issue. I still need to see if mine is a WS6 which im convinced it is.
  22. Lol. Except your dads car is complete and didnt require a tear down if the engine.
  23. Should be able to. The latest version of the Mopar stat is an 8350 4 more digits and ends in an AD. I should post that upon further inspection of the old stat, the spring collapsed a little, had gunk on it preventing full closure and the rubber seal on the end of the stat itself was almost nonexistent and water was allowed to flow through. So entirely it was just regular wear kind of failure on this one. But it’s good to have a tab on what’s still good out there.
  24. It’s interesting you say that. I bought a Murray yesterday from oreillys, just to probably get me by for a few years before changing it again and I looked at it and it said motorad on it. Hmmm. I’m kinda getting the idea we’re just at the mercy of what we can get and how long it will last.
