  1. I bought a ford tach, wired it up to the ports and it works great!! Now to trim it up, and get it installed into the cluster since the clock is very much dead as a door nail.
  2. Alright, who is the worst and who is the best? Sure construction should be the same and probably from the same factory but I want to see what we are all running and what results. I have a Mopar in mine right now but it’s failed me and is stuck open. I know Motorad was OEM. Probably Stant was during AMCs run.
  3. What’s bad is I’ve seen a few recently in the past 10 years. Couple at dodge and a couple at the cruise in that we go to. Always nice to see them.
  4. Parcel shelf, that makes a lot of sense, it does hold a good amount of stuff. I look forward to seeing you do that on your build. That’ll be fun.
  5. Its disheartening to know that the plastic is super fragile and I could be spoiled by my MJ and XJ, though the XJ A pillars on mine are super fragile as well and could be made of the same plastic AMC used until the later years. Honestly though, this lower dash and the A pillar by the dash are the only two pieces on the eagle that’s broken and cracked. I’m sure I’ll find more….I don’t want to though. But at least the lower dash you found has hidden cracks and can’t be as bad as mine. The previous owners had the thing held in the middle with thick 3” long metal strips to pinch it in place. Kinda crazy. I’m hoping this will be a more solid and cleaner fix.
  6. Get an eagle they said. It’ll be fun they said. No one said anything about fragile as hell plastic parts! And my bane is the lower dash vents for the AC. Little red is serving as my work bench for this piece. But those two metal straps and the plastic jbwelded in plastic is where this piece mounts and is mostly supported from at. By using the straps screwed to the duct itself, it should help with support and not solely rely on just the plastic itself to keep it mounted and in place. It shocks me that AMC didn’t think to add some sort of reinforcement to this so it wouldn’t break. On top of that it’s also screwed in at the sides. Which yeah not much support there either as I broke one of the ends off the other night and had to JBweld that and hot glue a popsicle stick as it’s support to prevent another breakage. Luckily my repairs will mostly be hidden, but damn, this ain’t fun kids.
  7. That’s is not normal at all. Plug has to be around somewhere. Plug should have a thick yellow wire, a black wire and I want to say orange? Not sure. But damn sure on the first 2
  8. Thank you. We’re doing our best with the knowledge we have. Unfortunately we were kinda left hanging when a member who did the up keep didn’t exactly pass the torch to the next person, so we’re more or less looking for some good IT assistance. That being said, as far as the ‘host’ goes, I think it’s more the software host, but it is something if we can get a person to talk to to assist us with all this.
  9. Ehhh. I used to. Now I know they’re both well behaved to where I can drive and enjoy them comfortably and reliably. Someone on here once said that Renix is almost alive. It knows when your afraid of it. I lived by that a bit to show it who is the owner and not to fear it, even when it’s running good and strong with no issues.
  10. You get good after a while haha. Knowing what normal condition plugs should look like, everything else will look odd or out of place. White with brown is too lean. Darker than brown is rich. Anything else is a sign of another issue. Like for me on the eagle, I found cyl 5 to be a problem. Coated in all sorts of carbon build up like this: I knew something was wrong right away. Initially didn’t think head gasket but this ended up leading me to such. But as stated, it’s not a high compression engine, your numbers look great and healthy, it’ll keep chugging along. Though cyl 4 has me a bit on the intrigued side as to why it looks like that but as long as it doesn’t feel like it’s missing a beat when running, keep on going!
  11. 1 looks like it’s not getting enough fuel 2 looks rich 3 looks just right 4 looks like it’s not even putting in any work.
  12. I have the same predicament as you. But I rotate between my daily’s. And I rotate based on gas and the last time it was driven. Right now it’s the XJ. When it gets low on gas, I’ll go to the eagle, when it gets low I’ll go back to the MJ. It’s not bad to have some back ups in the event one needs to go down for maintenance or for a lengthy mod where you want to take your time on. Just 2 cents, not saying what decision you should make.
  13. Happy new year and happy 40th to all the late 86’s and early 87’s!
  14. I dont think its CC or the server, I think its the host.
  15. Yeahhhh CC has been having some issues. We’re looking into it, with the knowledge we have.
  16. I’m failing to see the difference. Chrysler likes to do that crap. Chances are it’s probably an internal component.
  17. What? Where is it said that the AX5 changes? As far as most Jeep owners are aware, the 5 didn’t change between 1984 up until it was discontinued which I don’t know that year. Anyways the only differences you’ll find is in 84-86 they had an external slave which is hell of an upgrade. Then 87-91 they were internal and 92 and up were back to external slaves. Should be the same across the board.
  18. Definitely boils down to either a hydraulic issue or clutch issue. Were the clutch plate bolts torqued down right? I’ve had one bolt snap on me and give me quite the issue to shift but not impossible to shift. Was the pressure plate replaced at the same time? How does it look? Pedal should be a little soft but it shouldn’t be incredibly firm like brakes. How’s the master? Does it leak by chance?
  19. Ok transmission is fine. Something probably wrong with the clutch itself. If it was the transmission you wouldn’t be able to go through the gears with it off.
  20. Unique compression method… Can you get the trans to shift with the MJ off? If you can it’s not the trans and it’s the clutch. I had one of the tension springs on the clutch break the retainer off the disc and render it useless.
  21. Female ends for the seat belts for buckets are reproduced. They’re just bendix buckles that damn near everyone used. Mostly Ford and GM used them. Not sure about Mopar.
  22. Two on the left are for throttle cable and speedo cable Two on the right are for hood release and I think the other is for the washer hose to the rear hatch on an XJ which would be plugged in an MJ. Not sure what else would go through that side of the firewall aside from the clutch master and hood release.
  23. Everything is buttoned up and back together. Still a very healthy engine and still haven’t broken the $6k threshold on this car. Probably still very well under it too. Didn’t expect this one to turn into a budget build haha. Merry Christmas everyone!
