  1. Thanks for the valuable info. Roger
  2. Thank you gentlemen. Do I need to change the gears as a pair or will just changing the driven gear do the trick. Thanks
  3. My 1986 Comanche 2.5 has 195/65/15 tyres. The smaller section makes the speedo read 18% fast. At GPS 60 mph the speedo reads 70mph. Could someone kindly advice the speedo cable gears required to lower the speedo by 18% Thank in advance Roger
  4. Thank you gentlemen for your most appreciated suggestions. I think I have spotted a big part of the problem. Some time back a dealer fitted a new set of tyres. He assumed the truck had the six cylinder engine. Hence he fitted 215/75/15 instead of the OE 195/75/15 These larger tyres drop the Revs per mile from 790 to 730. This in effect causes higher gearing. If the engine had more power the replacement tyres would work very well but the Gutless nature of the 2.5 engine simply can't cope. Roger
  5. Dealer checked Pressure at 2500 RPM, said it was higher at idle but did nor record the number,
  6. Clean and properly gapped but will replace them shortly.
  7. Dealer checked it at 25 psi last week
  8. Compression test, good idea. Axle ratios are original. Starts and runs smoothly, hot of cold. Idles at 750 RPM. It simply could not pull the skin off a race pudding. Thanks for suggestion.
  9. My 1986 Comanche 2.5 is gradually losing power, no where near the performance when it was new. It now is very sluggish to the point that 5th gear is rarely usable Engine still sounds perfect, no oil burning and excellent oil pressure. Catalytic was removed when new. Air cleaner is new. Total miles now 110,000. Is this normal Behaviour or is there a specific known cause, valve springs perhaps?? Thanks Roger
  10. My 1986 Comanche has an 02 sensor with no way of plugging it in. Is this normal on this 2.5 fuel injected version?
  11. Thanks, you are absolutely correct, Mine is on the top of the column that has to be lowed to get at it. Thanks again.
  12. My name is ROGER, not RPGER.
  13. I have had my 1986 Comanche from new. It has an ignition switch that apparently does not exist. It is three blade, not the normal nine blade. Any one have any idea of a part number and where I can get one.??
