  1. Welp I'm getting the same symptoms all of a sudden again. I'll see if the cap contact points look any good, and then I'll check the shaft for slop, which I never did.
  2. no def not, mines like that too its just grime or whatever
  3. I just remembered I even had these pics on my phone and I'm 99% sure I never posted it on here but back in like Feb of 2021 I passed this minty Eliminator and stopped to ask abt it. It was owned by this nice older couple, still being used as a daily/small work truck. She wouldn't sell it which is understandable, especially to the random high schooler she was talking to that would have done who knows what with itLuckily I got the vin for the registry.
  4. Thank you!
  5. I'm still gonna be as careful as possible, but I didn't think it was like dodge level of brittle. The regular grey interior in my 89, on the dash it has one spot over the cluster where it cracked and sorta fell apart and split, exposing the foam sort of material inside, but on the rest of the dash I can slam my fist on it and its fine
  6. Thanks thats a lot of good info. One of the hinges holding the ash tray in are already gone, I'm sure I can cobble something together with superglue or jb weld tho. The wires staying on the cab part sucks to hear, but its probably a good idea to remove all of the electronics anyways.
  7. I'm eventually gonna be removing the whole interior from the 87 Chief I got. To anyone who has removed an entire dash before, is there anything in particular that is like usually extra brittle and should be extra careful with, or something I might not know is still hooked up that I might miss?
  8. Where there ever any police XJ 125mph speedos for the other style of gauges, like from an 87?
  9. Oh ok good
  10. Oh ok so it was built in January of 87, so would that mean it has pack con or metri pack connectors, and which does my 89 have?
  11. I'm gonna have to rewire the radio anyways, but I'll check what month it was made. Where is that build date located? Its not on the inside of the driver side door for some reason
  12. Question about wiring harnesses: I'm gonna swap the whole dash and everything from this 87 Chief into my 89 Base. I believe the 89 computer is a little better than the 87 computer, but could I just take 100% of the wiring from the 87, put it into mine, but keep my computer?
  13. Just some basic stuff that came with mine, the back of the warranty booklet is actually partially filled out with the first owners information, I only included it because there's no address, but there is an Allstate insurance card that has his address on it that I left out
  14. Yea I may eventually look harder to find evidence of decals, but the hood is rust free and straight as can be, the paint is a little dull tho, although its uniformly dull...
  15. Yea I was just skimming through it, gonna post it if I don't see one already up there. But what is the Genuine Jeep Comanche Outfitters stuff! Reminds me of the ford freewheeling program thing. I never even heard of it til I saw those posted by @fiatslug87
  16. Ah then mine could be authentic chrome, also "through the brochures" I wish I had a collection of those. I do have a 1989 mopar accessories booklet that came with the owners manual. Unless your pretty much positive it's somewhere on the forum already I can post pics for anyone interested.
  17. Well either way, if someone is reading this a few years from now, I have no plans of using the trim but will definitely hold onto it, so message me if your interested in buying
  18. Ok cool, and I didn't know laredo was only long beds. I wonder if the trim on mine is from a Pioneer, and has been painted chrome in the middle, it did almost seem like the chrome was bubbling in some places
  19. While you are here, what can you tell me about the other bigger style of trim, I think I've only seen them on Laredos. https://www.streetsideclassics.com/vehicles/0809-nsh/1988-jeep-comanche-laredo
  20. Oh ok, I mean there is considerable bondo work on the lower portions where the rubber is, well at least where there is still metal left. I wonder if the rubber was his way of taking attention away from it, obviously if he did that much effort it would have been long before the amount of rust it has now. Well either way, a full set of Laredo/XLS chrome belts is still nice to have, I'm gonna take a wild guess and say its from a Laredo since the XLS was only on a long bed haha.
  21. Hm, I wonder if the previous owner took the stickers off and added the belts. Also are you saying the belts specifically with chrome are from a Laredo or XLS? Because I swear I've seen pics of pioneers with the chrome ones.
  22. Well it might be the same belt rubber you showed on that pioneer, but this one has chrome in the middle like the XLS.
  23. No its slightly different than that, I just found a pic of an 86 XLS that has what looks identical to it, but obv that would only be for a long bed and mine is a short bed 87 Chief trim
