  1. I can't even hardly get on them
  2. I was gonna pull the rear fender flares before sending this to the scrap yard because I know they are MJ specific, but they are such a pain and I don't know if they are even worth pulling. When getting the front fender liners out, the few studs with nuts that I was able to get onto just broke after half a turn because the nuts are fused to the studs. I don't need new fenders, I just didn't wanna scrap an MJ part if it could be used, even tho one of them is worn thru by a tire pretty bad. The biggest thing I'm asking is if I'm taking them off wrong, like is there a much easier way that I'm missing, and are they even rare/desireable enough to be worth the hassle?
  3. Alright thank you, the biggest thing I wanted to make sure of was that all of the interior harness(from where it connects thru the firewall with the fuse panel) was identical and plug and play from 87-89. I have been delayed a bit as I've been sick the last few days but should resume progress tomorrow hopefully.
  4. Alright, do you know anything about the computers like I mentioned?
  5. That thing looks amazing
  6. I'm swapping the interior from an 87 Chief(auto) into my 89 base(manual). For the interior wiring, I was planning on basically just gutting my truck, then just using all of the wiring from 87 starting at the fuse panel connector. Is there anything wrong or not plug and play about this? Also, I thought I remembered reading somewhere that an 89 engine computer is more advanced or better than an 87, so should I want to, or maybe even need to incorporate my current engine computer?
  7. These are black and in my donor truck rn so I can't do any real testing until they are in mine. I have some that work fine just they are gray and won't match the back interior I'm about to put in.
  8. My 89 MJ locks up fine if you just pull it fast, I tried pulling on this one as fast as I could and it didn't.
  9. Alr I'll give it a try but if that's the case then I don't see how they would work in an accident lol
  10. Gonna need to address this when I swap my interior but its an 87 chief so it has the AMC style seat belts. I noticed that both do not latch up or catch whenever you yank them forward, or otherwise throw yourself forward like your in a crash. I haven't looked into it at all yet but if theres a common issue or good place to start please let me know, thanks!
  11. Thanks for the suggestions, its out now. I unbolted the ac compressor from the bracket and the inside bolt was about impossible to break loose, then I had to get a hammer and drift on the back of the bolt and the fought me all the way out.
  12. just got the trans/tc pulled, gonna be pulling the engine out tmr(87 Chief). Any common mistakes or something that I might miss and could hear about now? Thanks
  13. Nah just those not the aluminum, felt dumb asking bc it's one of the most generic wheels out there in a way, but figured maybe it was an option for base models or something
  14. Not to hijack the thread but those white wheels that were on in the older pics you sent, were those a factory option or just a generic wheel? Mine has them but obv no idea if that is what it had when new. I'm sorta asking anybody if they know
  15. Yea, but as long as your not immediately doing some hard offroading it would work until u find the right crossmember, plus it's basically free.
  16. I thought I had pictures on my phone, but I couldn't find any
  17. I'm still using the YJ 4wd shifter in my truck but will soon be swapping in a console and therefore need the AX-15 4wd shifter bracket assembly, do u have any or would u be willing to sell the shifter from one of those?
  18. Instead of hammering the floor or reclocking it, what I did (for context mine was a 89 BA/10 2wd and I got the ax-15 and np231 from a 92 YJ) was I made 1 inch spacers from 1/4 inch square tubing to drop the whole crossmember down low enough. TC fits with no problems. I did this after getting frustrated not being able to find a ax15 crossmember. You could do this and when u find an ax15 cross member just swap it over. I'm no longer running mine like that because I have a new crossmember for long arms.
  19. Does this count as NOS?
  20. I wonder if it's on the registry
  21. https://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_1089586-Jeep-Comanche-MJ.html Is this not a Street Comanche? The lighting sucks but I swear I see the body kit.
  22. Already have a replacement distributor, gonna put it on when I get time off of school, but in the meantime, when I checked for slop, there was barely any side to side, but plenty of rotational, and some up and down. Are those any problem, or is just side to side the problem? Btw, the rotor and cap had the same black carbon starting to form.
  23. Very useful explanation thanks. In that case its gotta be a loose shaft.
